WelcomeHazlemere Golf Club and Conference Centre is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the heart of the Chiltern Hills of South Buckinghamshire, close to Beaconsfield and High Wycombe, and just under 30 miles from Central London. The 18 hole golf course is home to magnificent red kites that soar over this interesting and challenging par 70 course. Hazlemere Golf Club is an ‘equal status’ members’ club with a reputation for being ‘the friendly club’. It prides itself on the warm welcome it gives to players and visitors from all over the world.

The views from the clubhouse and around the course are truly breathtaking all year round. We have two superb

function rooms and both boast amazing panoramic views of the course. They provide an excellent venue for weddings, meetings and social events.

Our friendly, personal approach supported by excellent facilities and dedicated staff ensure that your every need is met and that your event can take place in comfort and with complete confidence.

HistoryHazlemere Golf course was built in 1981 by a number of local businessmen on Inkerman Farm; a parcel of land that was owned by the Earl Howe Estate. The farmland leant itself to the contours of a golf course and the majority of the land’s natural features were retained. One of the original features was the avenue of lime trees which stretches from behind the 12th tee to behind the 1st green. It is believed that originally the avenue was a carriage drive used by Earl Howe and continued beyond where the 3rd tee is today and on to Penn House.

The course is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty set in the heart of the Chiltern Hills and wonderful views can be seen from the clubhouse and from many other areas around the course.

The course opened in October 1982 with many mature trees and hedgerows already in place. This has resulted in the course maturing over a very short period of time.

The very first member who joined the club was Alan Main who is still a member and enjoying his golf as much as ever. Of the players who accompanied Alan on his first round two others have maintained their membership ever since. Alan can remember how welcome he was made to feel on that day and values the friendliness that is still present in the club today.

In 1986 Luke Donald, currently one of the top players in the world, joined Hazlemere Golf Club as a junior when he was only nine years old. This was at a time

when juniors were not admitted to golf clubs until they were at least twelve years old. This enlightened attitude continues today and Hazlemere Golf Club is renowned for its development of junior golfers. Luke Donald stayed for six years before moving on, and we at Hazlemere like to say, “It was here that Luke Donald learnt his golf.”

In 2000 the playing members of the club were given the opportunity to purchase the club. The response was overwhelming and on the 24th March, 2000 Hazlemere Golf Club became a ‘members’ club’.

CourseHazlemere Golf Club is set in 104 acres of the beautiful Chiltern Hills in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in South Buckinghamshire. Whatever the season the views around the course are spectacular. The different types of trees mean that in the springtime there are numerous shades of green around the course. In the summertime the many species of wild flowers and the flowering trees add a new dimension. In autumn as the leaves fall the changing view brings a beautiful array of different coloured foliage. As winter sets in the snow draped mature trees and sparkling fairways provide a very different and breathtaking view of The Chilterns from the clubhouse.

This 18 hole parkland golf course offers a unique challenge to golfers of all abilities and a golfing

experience to remember. One of the main features of the course is the number of holes that are protected by mature trees or water, making the correct shot selection very important to the overall score. After completing the 18th, the 19th awaits! Relax and unwind whilst you dissect play in our inviting bar. Why not enjoy a bar meal or something more substantial in our restaurant? In addition to excellent catering facilities, the clubhouse also has light and airy ladies’ and gents’ changing rooms and a well equipped Pro Shop for all your golfing needs. Our accommodating staff provide first class customer service with meticulous attention to detail which will make your visit to Hazlemere Golf Club a memorable one.

MembershipHazlemere Golf Club is a private, ‘members’ club’ with a warm and friendly atmosphere. When you join you will be able to benefit from all the club activities, participate in competitions, enjoy our social events and meet new golfing friends. Membership is available for men, ladies and juniors, and currently there is no joining fee. The club has a very active ladies’ and veterans’ section where you will immediately be made to feel welcome. In addition to all the main club activities these sections organise competitions and matches which are open to all and also host social events. Both sections have members of all abilities from single figure to high handicappers and new members are always welcome. There are also a number of informal groups that hold weekly roll ups and run fun competitions.

As an equal status club lady members have full access to the course at weekends and competitions are arranged for them on Saturdays and Sundays as well as during the week.

Mixed competitions are held regularly throughout the year and provide a great way to make new friends.

The ClubhouseThe clubhouse is open to the general public as well as members and offers great comfort and a welcoming atmosphere in which to socialise and relax. The bar is well stocked, with Fullers providing a wide selection of draught beers and lagers. We also have an excellent selection of wines and spirits as well as a choice of non alcoholic beverages. Hazlemere also supports the local Rebellion brewery in Marlow and a variety of real ales are on sale throughout the year.

Hot and cold food is served daily, 7 days a week and all meals are prepared using fresh ingredients. The catering is on a par with the excellent golf course. Friday nights are the highlight of the week with regular Friday night dining including snack bar specials, carvery evenings, fine dining evenings and themed nights such as Greek, Thai, Indian and Brazilian evenings.

Our Head Chef has created an extensive bar menu for the clubhouse and provides all the catering for the club and private functions. Our team is always happy to accommodate clients’ special requirements. We are avid supporters of local produce and seasonal ingredients, sourcing as much produce as possible locally.

The bar and function rooms are served by a group of enthusiastic bar and waiting staff who take pride in delivering a great service and providing a welcoming environment for members and visitors.
