Over 400 guest attended the 19th Annual Harker Heights Chamber Gala that was held at the Killeen Civic & Conference Center on Monday, October 28, 2013. It was an evening of great dining, fellowship and awards. John Reider Properties was the winner of the Prestigious Linda Neault Citizen Award for Community Service in Harker Heights. Eva Keagle, ERA Colonial Eva Sells received Small Business of the Year Award. Randy Sutton received the Kern Cox Award. Travis Knight received the Ambassador of the Year Award. Dr. Ralph Ford from CTC accepted the Large Business of the Year award. Dave Haley received the HHPD Police Officer of the year Award. Jacob Canlona received the HHFD Fireman of the year award. Congratulations to all of the recipients and a special thank you to all that attended. We couldn’t do this without your support.

deductions and allowances that are legal and those that are not. Liberty Tax wants to break through all the misinformation and provide

solid facts of what is applicable to current tax return filing.

Our Objectives are to provide education, answer any questions, and to have some FUN! We will give an overview, safeguards to protect the

consumer, and where to turn when additional assistance is needed.

SteP 1: Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray. SteP 2: Place pretzels in reseal able food-storage plastic bag; smash with rolling pin or flat side of meat mallet until crushed. In medium bowl, mix crushed pretzels, brown sugar and pumpkin pie spice. Stir in butter. Press mixture onto bottom of baking dish. Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until set. Cool on cooling rack.

SteP 3: Meanwhile, in large heatproof bowl, pour boiling water on gelatin; stir until gelatin is dissolved. Add enough cold water to reserved juice to equal 2 cups; stir into gelatin. Refrigerate until partially set, about 1 hour 45 minutes.

SteP 4: In medium bowl, beat cream cheese and granulated sugar with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Fold in whipped topping. Spread mixture evenly over pretzel crust.

SteP 5: Finely chop mandarin orange segments; gently stir into partially set gelatin. Carefully pour over cream cheese layer. Refrigerate 8 hours or overnight. Cut into squares.

2 1/2 cups pretzel sticks 3 tbsp. packed brown sugar 1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice 2/3 cup unsalted butter, melted 2 cups boiling water1 1/4 to 1 1/2 cups cold water

2 packages (4-serving size each) cranberry-flavored gelatin 1 can (11 oz) mandarin orange segments, drained, juice reserved 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened 1 cup granulated sugar 1 container (8 oz) frozen whipped topping, thawed
