Since the launch of our first collection in 2011, Frama

has embraced an organic and collaborative approach

to design; an approach that is equally inspired by the

old and the new, by digital technologies and analogue

traditions. Frama’s naturalistic, hands-on approach to

design and production has allowed the brand to create

a unified aesthetic across a growing range of product

collections, including: furniture, lighting, home objects,

fabrics, apothecary, books, and kitchens.

Based in Copenhagen’s Nyboder neighbourhood,

Frama’s headquarters is an ever-evolving studio and

shop space housed in the historic St. Pauls Apotek

(established in 1878). Each year, the Frama Studio

Store hosts a full calendar of open events, collaborative

gatherings, as well as art and design installations.

Every product in the St. Pauls Apothecary

Collection has been developed in Copenhagen

and is created with natural, hand picked

ingredients sourced from some of the most

trusted suppliers in the world. Each product in

the collection is gender neutral and is crafted

with quality-tested essential oils that offer a

pure, refreshing, and distinct scent that helps

restore balance for the skin and the senses.

Bottled in custom-colored Italian glass, each

item in the St. Pauls Apothecary Collection

aims to not only invigorate the senses, but to

also bring a quality of object permanence into

spaces.

between opposites, a linking of the classical

and the contemporary, a conversation

between digital and analogue. And just as

the physical space of St. Pauls Apotek has

become a symbol of this aesthetic dialogue,

so too is the St. Pauls Apothecary Collection

both a nod to the past and a reflection of this

present day synergy.

The St. Pauls Apothecary Collection is a line

of skin care and scent products by Frama,

an independent Danish creative studio.

Introduced in 2016, the Apothecary Collection

is inspired by St. Pauls Apotek - a historic,

wood lined pharmacy in central Copenhagen

first established in 1878. Located in the

iconic neighborhood of Nyboder, the St. Pauls

Apotek is now home to Frama’s creative

studio space, a modern design laboratory for

The scent is one of the foundation scents in the St. Pauls Apothecary Collection, and is aspired by the mythology of the St. Pauls Apotek from 1878. Each of the Apothecary products has distinct and unique qualities; creating a gentle and nurturing experience in usage. Developed with natural ingredients, the Apothecary Hand Wash has been created with Frama’s signature scent, providing an aromatic experience that leaves hands clean and refreshed with each wash. The Apothecary Hand Wash’s delicate balance of nourishing ingredients–including aloe vera, thyme oil, shea butter, and extracts from flax, cotton, and fig–naturally moisturize, hydrate, and soften hands. An interpretation of the classical Chypre from 1917, wooden notes of Moss and Grass from the Mediterranean Cypriot flora creates a deep, mysterious character. This contemporary interpretation is blended with layers of Rose, Lilac and Seaweed to form a green, vibrant expression. Created in collaboration with Kunsthal Aarhus, which was established the same year.

To be enjoyed in the personal spaces inhabited, our fragrances have now been evolved into the form of scented candles; to enhance spatial experiences. Created in collaboration with the Seoul-based creative studio ‘Be My Guest,’ From Soil to Form is a wholly natural, uniquely sculptural room diffuser. Combining three distinctly aromatic natural materials–Korean Pine, baked soil spheres, and fragrant essential oils–this handcrafted objet d’art creates a pleasant and calming effect for any interior space. Each From Soil to Form set includes nine spheres that have been handmade from clay-rich soil sourced from Korea, where they were then fired in a traditional kiln using a time-honored method. When fragrant oil is applied to the hardened spheres, the natural properties of the soil allow a subtle scent to be diffused into the air while, at the same, helping to balance the humidity of a room. If properly cared for, the spheres can be used indefinitely, providing years of practical use and enjoyment. From Soil to Form is made of 100% natural materials and is fully biodegradable.

Inspired by artist Marcel Duchamp’s ‘Rotoreliefs,’ created between 1924 and 1936, the Sphere is a geometric steel sculpture that functions as an elegant oil diffuser. When combined with the heat from a simple tealight, the steel volume of the Sphere gently diffuses the essential oils contained within, enhancing the aromatic experience of any room.

The new St. Pauls Apothecary Candle Snuffer from Frama is a practical, modern interpretation of the classic tool, designed for use in the 21st century home. Made from delicate but durable stainless steel, the look and feel of the Candle Snuffer will evolve with time, as it develops a graceful patina with use and age.

Please note: always light and extinguish candles with care. To avoid excess smoke, hold the Snuffer over the candle flame for 5 - 10 seconds, then allow the candle to cool fully (approximately 10 minutes) before covering the candle with lid, moving, or handling. Always keep candles out of the reach of children.
