Cutting

Fabric A, cut:(8) 31⁄2" x WOF for sashing(8) 21⁄2" x WOF for border

Fabric B, cut:(4) 51⁄4" x 233⁄4" rectangles, centered on stacked panel images(2) 51⁄4" x 12" rectangles, centered on stacked panel images

Fabric C, cut:(12) 101⁄2" x 111⁄2" rectangles, centered on stacked panel images

Fabric D, cut:(7) 21⁄2" x WOF for binding

Fabrics E, F, and G, cut:(4) 101⁄2" x 4" rectangles from each

InstructionsAll seam allowances are 1⁄4" and pieces are sewn right sides together. Press seam allowances open unless otherwise stated.

1. Referring to the quilt photo for print placement (or arrange according to your own preferences), alternate (4) 101⁄2" x 111⁄2" Fabric C rectangles and (4) 101⁄2" x 4" Fabric E rectangles in a single column. Sew the rectangles together along adjacent edges. Press. Repeat with Fabric F and G rectangles to make a total of (3) more columns.

2. Arrange (2) 51⁄4" x 233⁄4" and (1) 51⁄4" x 12" Fabric B rectangles in a single column, with the shorter rectangle at the bottom. Sew the rectangles together along adjacent edges. Press. Make a total of (2) Fabric B columns.

Quilt Top AssemblyMeasure the columns’ height and the Quilt Center width and height before cutting sashing strips and borders. Adjust trimming lengths where necessary to match your measurements.

3. Join (2) Fabric A 31⁄2" x WOF strips end-to-end. Press. Repeat to make (4) total sets of joined sashing strips. Trim all (4) sashing strips to 581⁄2" long.

4. Referring to the Quilt Layout Diagram on page 4, arrange the columns from left to right, adding a sashing strip between each column. Sew the columns and sashing strips together along adjacent edges. Press.

5. Join (2) Fabric A 21⁄2" x WOF strips end-to-end. Press. Make (4) sets of joined borders. Trim (2) side borders 581⁄2" long and (2) top/bottom borders 56" long.

6. Sew one side border to either side of the quilt center. Press the seam allowances toward the borders. Sew one top/bottom border to the top, and the other to the bottom edge of the quilt. Press the seam allowances toward the borders.

Finishing7. Sew together the (7) 21⁄2" x WOF Fabric D

binding strips end-to-end using diagonal seams. Press the seams open. Press the binding strip in half wrong sides together.

8. Layer the backing (wrong side up), batting, and quilt top (right side up). Baste the layers together and quilt as desired. Trim excess batting and backing even with the quilt top after quilting is completed.

9. Leaving an 8" (20.32cm) tail of binding, sew binding to top of quilt through all layers matching all raw edges. Miter corners. Stop approximately 12" (30.48cm) from where you started. Lay both loose ends of binding flat along quilt edge. Where these two loose ends meet, fold them back on themselves and press to form a crease. Using this crease as your stitching line, sew the two open ends of the binding together right sides together. Trim seam to ¼” (.64cm) and press open. Finish sewing binding to quilt.

10. Turn the binding to the back of the quilt and hand stitch in place.
