This Halloween, dress up your pet for Valencia Reserve’s First Annual Pet Costume Contest! Pets will be paraded around the room and prizes will be awarded for Best Dressed, Most Creative and Funniest Costumes. If you don’t have a pet, don’t miss out on the fun — become one of our judges! To enroll your pet in the contest or to become a judge, please sign up at the Reserve Sales Center. Please register all pets no later than Tuesday, Oct. 26.

Halloween Costume Party — Come Dance… If You Dare!If You Dare!Saturday, Oct. 30 at 8 p.m. at the Temporary Lifestyle Suite #104 • $15 per person

Gremlins and goblins and witches on brooms, you are invited to a party under the moon! It’s the Valencia Reserve Halloween Party that will be such a fright. Dancing and desserts and music all night! DJ Eddie Crespo will be playing all of your favorite hits and incorporating interactive games to help residents mix and mingle and meet new friends. Prizes will be awarded, so get creative! Costumes are encouraged, but are not required. A dessert bar, coffee and non-alcoholic beverages will be served. Bring your favorite “brew”. Please come to the Reserve Sales Center to reserve your spot today! A minimum of 60 residents must be paid by Friday, Oct. 22.

Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis. Tickets can be purchased at the Valencia Pointe Box Office inside the Clubhouse.

Sandy & Derrick WarrenSaturday, Oct. 9 at 8 p.m. in the Valencia Pointe Social Hall • $15 per person

Sandy Warren is a vocal powerhouse and a born singer. Her four octave voice range led her to performances for royalty and world audiences. Sandy is a true entertainer, pleasing a crowd with her show stopping repertoire, wonderful personality and quick wit. Internationally acclaimed entertainer Derrick Warren has performed on cruise ships around the world and enjoyed overseas record successes. He has also been on numerous TV shows. In Derrick’s unique act, he introduces you to a variety of wonderful instruments, including the melodica, electric clarinet, banjo, guitar, piano, harmonica and jaws harp (to name just a few). Seating is cabaret style. Complimentary coffee and dessert follow the show.

Laurie MillerSaturday, Dec. 11 at 8 p.m. in the Valencia Pointe Social Hall $25 per person

Originally from Miami, Laurie spends most of her time performing on some of the world’s most prestigious cruise lines as well as at corporate events and theatrical productions worldwide. Laurie’s professional appearances range from musical theater to lavish revues, intimate jazz clubs and major label recording projects. Laurie is known in the industry as one of the original members and creators of the pop-hit group EXPOSE´. Their debut album EXPOSED is documented in the Rolling Stone Rock and Roll Hall of Fame history book for having more Top 10 hits than the Beatles or the Supreme’s had on their debut albums.

New Year’s EveFriday, Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. at Massimo’s Restaurant • $85 per person

Ring in the New Year with Valencia Reserve at Massimo’s in Canyon Town Center. A DJ will get you dancing with music from all eras. Party favors and champagne will be distributed as midnight nears. Your evening will begin with a cocktail hour consisting of passed hors d’oeuvres, beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages. The passed hors d’oeuvres include Kosher mini hot dogs in a blanket, chicken quesadillas, mini quiches, beef wellington in puff pastries

and spinach pies. At 9 p.m., a salad and assorted breads will await you at your table. Your served dinner will include your choice of chicken marsala, red snapper stuffed with crab meat and garnished with asparagus or horseradish encrusted prime rib with au jus. A vegetable medley and garlic mashed potatoes will accompany every dish. After dinner, an assorted dessert platter will be placed on each table. Coffee,

tea and soda will be available throughout the evening. One mixed drink ticket is also included. Tickets are on sale now at the Sales Center. Residents only please until Nov. 1. We can accommodate 120 people for this event and expect it to sell out, so

get your tickets early. Seating will be assigned. If you would like to sit with your friends, please bring in your payments together. Tables range in size from 4 to 14 people. Each and every resident is welcomed and will be seated with neighbors upon request.

Tennis Pro Am TournamentSaturday, Nov. 6 at 9 a.m. • $60 per person

Come play with a pro against fellow residents and pros in our first ever Valencia Reserve Pro Am Tournament! Residents can enter in Divisions A or B. Trophies will be awarded in each division. Sandwiches, fruit and beverages will be served following the Pro Am Tournament. All attendees must be paid in advance by Monday, Oct. 25. Non-tennis players are welcome to watch the fun and enjoy the food and beverages for $15. Please RSVP and pay at the Pro Shop.

The PGA Champions Tour Wants You!Tuesday, Nov. 16 at 4 p.m. Volunteer Informational Meeting • Temporary Lifestyle Center #104

The Allianz Championship is returning to The Old Course at Broken Sound in Boca Raton from February 7 through 13, 2011. Valencia Reserve residents have been invited to rub elbows with golf ’s greatest legends. Come be a part of the excitement by volunteering behind the velvet ropes. Don’t miss the volunteer informational meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at 4 p.m. in our Temporary Lifestyle Center. Ariana Dominguez, Allianz volunteer coordinator, will tell us about the tournament and the different ways to get involved. Residents of all physical abilities are welcome. Volunteers will be provided meals during their shifts, two logoed dry tech golf shirts, a logoed hat or visor and a complimentary round of golf at The Old Course at Broken Sound. Also, there is a volunteer appreciation party that players attend. The fee to volunteer is $65, but Valencia Reserve residents who register prior to December 3 will pay only $50! Bowling Club NEW ~ The Valencia Reserve Bowling League has formed! The league will be bowling at the Palm Beach Strike Zone, a local facility located north of Hypoluxo on Military Trail. The weekly charge to bowl is $9 which includes 3 games,

bowling shoes, team shirts, coffee and cookies each week. An end of season luncheon

complete with trophies is also included. We will be bowling at the rate of $.99 per game (24/7) all year long. Our season will begin Wednesday, Sept. 29 and will finish by the end of March, 2011. History Club NEW ~ If you are interested in history, this club’s for you. Initially, the club will not be limited to any specific era or focal events (e.g., 20th century America, WWII, etc.).

Depending on the interests of the people who join, it could later become more focused on a particular area of history with separate subgroups with particular areas of interest. Possible activities could include monthly meetings; viewing and discussion of

documentaries, news reels and films; presentations by individuals or groups of members on subjects of interest; trips to historic sites and museums; presentations or discussions with invited guests; and reviews of relevant books, movies, TV programs, etc. Nominal fees or dues could be collected to fund items such as refreshments at meetings, honorariums for speakers/guests, etc. If this club sounds of interest to you, please contact Ken Rifkin at 561-736-7619 or [email protected].

Social Dance Club NEW ~ The Social Dance Club will hire instructors to teach us all how to Ballroom dance. This is going to be a great social event with lots of fun for everyone. Our idea is to start with 6 lessons twice per month on Friday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. at our Temporary Lifestyle Center. After class, coffee and cake will be served.
