Parents: Leopold & Barbara Stoeckel; 11 children.

Hometown: Osceola, Wisconsin.

Growing up Gustav was first trained as

a stone mason.

1876, Gustav & family moved to Brant, Pennsylvania.

1896, traveled to Europe & met Arts & Crafts designers.
