What is Greenpeace

• Greenpeace is a non-governmental environmental organization formed on 15th September 1971 with offices in over forty countries and with an international coordinating body in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Why is Greenpeace

• Greenpeace is the leading independent campaigning organization that uses peaceful protest and creative communication to expose global environmental problems and to promote solutions that are essential to a green and peaceful future.

• Greenpeace states its goal is to "ensure the ability of the Earth to nurture life in all its diversity“ and focuses its campaigning on worldwide issues such as

Funds of Greenpeace

• Greenpeace does not accept funding from governments, corporations or political parties. Greenpeace neither accepts donations that could compromise its independence, aims, objectives or integrity.

• Greenpeace relies on the voluntary donations of individual supporters, and on grant support from foundations.

• Greenpeace evolved into one of the largest environmental organizations in the world. Greenpeace is known for its direct actions and has been described as the most visible environmental organization in the world.
