The long awaited opening of Cecilia’s Tapas & Wine Bar restaurant is, Thursday, September

20th. The restaurant is located next to Season’s Fresh Café at 2816 East Bearss Avenue, Tampa. For

the first few months, The North Tampa Arts League ( NTAL ) will be showcasing their art at this wonderful new restaurant. There will be eleven NTAL artists displaying a diverse medium which range from photography to abstracts, large and small pieces. The pieces were selected by Cecilia Ball ( the owner ) and the NTAL events committee chair Carol Northington. An example of Northington’s work which can be seen at Cecilia’s Tapas & Wine Bar is “Sea Dragon” acrylic on canvas. Northington, is the past president of the NTAL. The NTAL, in its seventh year, has grown in members and had similar shows in many venues throughout the North Tampa area. According to Cecilia, the mission of Cecilia’s Tapas & Wine Bar is to make each and every experience a memorable one. Every detail is thought out from the repurposed materials used throughout the

interiors, to the design and décor. “Pride will always be evident in each dish, setting a different standard for each meal every time”. But most importantly, the owners designed a comfortable place thinking of the customer. Meals are carefully created using natural, fresh and seasonal ingredients. The inspiration for Cecilia's occurred when the owners, after a long week of hard work, wanted to unwind with a wonderful wine and a few carefully prepared small plates. Another option would be a seasonal chef's specialty, all enjoyed in a setting that was comfortable, elegant, inviting and fun. The restaurant also has several private rooms to accommodate private parties or business luncheons, including a veranda. Catering is available onsite or offsite. v

Adult Volunteering/Classroom Visits

Parent volunteers are a valuable asset to our school and we encourage your participation in your child’s education in any way you are able! We have several procedures in place to ensure that all visitors on campus have a valid reason for being near our students. If you are volunteering in any way in the school, whether in the classrooms or on a field trip, it is necessary to fill out a SERVE form. This is a district required form that verifies that all adults who volunteer have no restrictions placed on them to work with children. SERVE forms are required to be filled out each year. Eating lunch with your child is a wonderful way to share in your child’s school day. Due to limited space in the cafeteria, please use the picnic tables in the courtyard if you plan to eat with your child. For safety reasons, we ask that you notify staff when you will be eating outside with your child and that you do not invite other students outside with you. When you are finished, please escort your child back to the lunchroom or his or her classroom

The Right Fit™ Foundation (www.therighfitfoundation.org) announced its first annual $5,000 scholarship for local high school students. To qualify, students must be a US Citizen, a resident of Hillsborough County, and have a weighted high school GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applicants must also attend one of the Foundation’s free college admission and financial aid classes along with their parents or guardians. Finalists may be interviewed. One scholarship will be awarded per year. The Right Fit™ Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3), dedicated to educating families about the college admission and financial aid process.

Helping Students Find the Right Fit™

Independent college consultant Kenneth Albert created The Right Fit ™ Foundation to provide free classes to the community on how to select the right college, how to maximize financial aid, and how to reduce the family's out-of-pocket expenses. Inspired by his own experience of

THE RIGHT FIT™ FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES $5,000 sCHOLarsHIp FOR TAMPA AREA HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

changing careers mid-life, he realized that students and their parents often miss the real heart of planning for college- getting the right fit to begin with. He wrote the book Finding the Right Fit: The Ultimate Guide to College (Mill City Press, 2009) to help families navigate the college search process and help students choose their career path wisely.

A $5,000 Scholarship For College

This year, the Foundation is offering a $5,000 college scholarship, giving preference to middle income families. “These families often do not qualify for need-based financial aid and borrow more on average to pay for college,” says Albert. Students can register to attend a class on the website: www.therightfitfoundation.org. The scholarship application is also available on the website. The deadline for application is January 15, 2013, and the winner will be notified March 15, 2013. Finalists may be asked to

complete an interview. The scholarship is a one-time award (non-renewable) and will be paid directly to the accredited four-year college or university the winner chooses to attend. "The Right Fit Foundation is excited to help families that need it the most, and hope to expand the scholarship to $10,000 next year,” says Albert.

About The Right Fit™ Foundation

Kenneth Albert, The Right Fit™ Foundation’s founder, has been helping families with college since 1995. He created the non-profit in order to provide assistance and mentorship to families at no cost. The foundation helps students select colleges, majors and careers that fit their personality and academic profile, and helps families identify sources of financial aid to lower the cost of college. v

as we do not allow students to travel alone. PLEASE NOTE, District policy: If you are bringing treats for your child’s birthday, you may stay in the cafeteria to distribute the food. Please check with your child’s teacher prior to bringing in food to confirm the number of students in the class. We ask that you limit birthday celebrations to a small treat per child in the class and leave balloons or other party favors for afterschool hours. This limits disruption to the students’ instructional day while allowing your child to celebrate his or her birthday with the class.

Making even one doctor’s appointment can be challenging. Imagine trying to find the right treatment if you’re depressed, psychotic or addicted. Four regional providers with 165 years of combined experience in behavioral health have announced their intent to merge and improve access. Mental Health Care Inc. (Hillsborough/Pasco counties), Personal Enrichment through Mental Health Services Inc. (Pinellas County), Agency for Community Treatment Services Inc. (Hillsborough, Pasco and Broward counties) and Tri-County Human Services Inc. (Polk, Highlands and Hardee counties) intend to merge and re-emerge as Gracepoint. “Changes in health care reward larger and stronger organizations. This merger allows Gracepoint to continue its specialty focus in behavioral health, substance abuse

and developmental disabilities and reap those rewards,” said Joseph F. Rutherford, MHC’s CEO. “We are more than a place for behavioral health care. We are the source for wellness. This is all we do, and we help people achieve their best lives.” All four providers are respected and accredited behavioral health and drug and alcohol treatment centers that have helped hundreds of thousands find their own paths to wellness. “Together our multiple locations will

help people find the right treatment as close to home or work as possible,”

explained Tom Wedekind, CEO of PEHMS. “People have told us they want to be able to make an appointment with experts in a wide range of behavioral health specialties. They’ll be able to do that by using the teams at one of Gracepoint’s 87 treatment programs,” added Robert Rihn, CEO of Tri-County.

“Our intent is to combine our specialized teams’ skills and our 69 locations to serve people in seven

counties,” concluded Richard Brown, CEO of ACTS, which focuses on Hillsborough and Pasco Counties.

Larger behavioral health providers are more attractive partners for Accountable Care Organizations, managed care companies and HMOs. They produce cost-effective expertise, and can manage complex mental health diagnoses. They are also attractive partners for hospitals, which may not have behavioral health specialists on staff. “Let’s be clear that nothing will change for our patients, the community or our staffs during this period. We have a lot of governance, financial and legal details to discuss over the next few months. All four agencies have agreed we will not make significant changes without discussion with the other partners,” said Rutherford. v

We have a qualified BUYER who wants to buy in the Hamptons section of Grand Hampton. They are looking for an Arthur Rutenberg or Talyor Woodrow/Morrison home. Their preference is 3,200 - 3,800 square feet w/ a pool on con-servation or pond. Depending on the lot, square footage, architec-ture style and additions they are willing to pay $500,000-$530,000. If you or someone you know wants to sell, this will be an easy transac-tion and you will not have to list or go through the hassle of having multiple showings.
