First some Etymology (Etymology is the study of the history of words, their origins, and how their form and meaning have changed over time) Did you know that 1.The word originates from Greek graphein meaning "to write. 2.Graffiti and graffito are from the Italian word graffiato ("scratched"). Graffiti Art or Vandalism? Source: Some History: In Australia, Aboriginal people practised a type of graffiti, known as rock paintings. These paintings were a form of communication to tell their stories. These paintings were etched in the rock with a tool, others were created using paints made from plants and types of minerals found in rocks. Graffiti Art or Vandalism?
