Enduring Understandings Creativity and innovative thinking are essential life skills that can be developed through practice, critique, and refining work over time.
People create and interact with objects, places, and design that define, shape, enhance, and empower their lives. Anchor Standard 1: Generate and conceptualize artistic ideas and work. C4-5-6.1.1: Students will brainstorm and combine concepts collaboratively to generate innovative ideas for creating art.
Prior Background Knowledge Required:
• discuss their ideas with others and use imaginative solutions to solve artistic problems.

2. What criteria are considered when selecting work for presentation, a portfolio, or a collection? Enduring Understandings
Artists and other presenters consider various techniques, methods, venues, and criteria when preparing, analyzing, selecting, and curating objects artifacts, and artworks for preservation and/or presentation.
Artworks communicate meaning and a record of social, cultural, and political experiences resulting in the cultivating of appreciation and understanding.
Anchor Standard 4: Select, analyze, and interpret artistic work for presentation. P4-5-6.4: Students will explain the skills and knowledge needed to preserve, maintain, and present various artworks and art objects. Prior Background Knowledge Required:
• identify limitations of exhibit spaces.
• categorize artwork based on a theme or a concept.
