Message from the Minister for Tourism Industry Development The Hon Kate Jones MP Welcome to the 23rd annual Goomeri Pumpkin Festival. The Queensland Government supports the Goomeri Pumpkin Festival and other key events because of the $800 million they contribute to our economy. Regional events mean regional tourism jobs – which are only created because you and thousands of other people have turned up to explore. Last year’s event attracted a record 17,000 people to take part in everything from the famous “Great Australian Pumpkin Roll “to the pageants and street parade.

Thank you to the organisers and the many volunteers who work tirelessly to make this event such a resounding success.

To those visiting, I would encourage you to explore the town and region during your stay. The Sunshine Coast is rich with tourism experiences, from stunning coastlines to hinterland rainforest.
