I am committed to personal growth. I want to become someone who will make a difference to people, both
professionally and personally. No person needs to be alone, to be scared, and no one to take their own life. It is my
goal to learn and provides the needed skills and resources to improve the quality of life for everyone that needs
help, whether as a client, co-worker or friend. I will endeavor to be a person who tries to see things from other
points of view before I let my own opinions sway me. Learning is a life-long process for me in all I do. I pursue new
knowledge through research, both academic and occupational. I will listen and watch those around me since there
is something valuable to be learned from everyone around me. My clients are more than patients; they are the
teachers from whence my knowledge stems. Respect should be given accordingly. I have risen from past errors and
become a better person. I will help others do the same, for this is the path I have chosen for myself.
LETTER OF Recommendation
August 4th, 2009
To Whom It May Concern:
Mark Gittner worked as the front desk coordinator in the Academic Affairs Office at USC Upstate,
Greenville Campus. Mark was a temporary employee who previously was a work-study student in this
office since January of 2007.
He has many skills which he used to benefit this office. He worked directly in an information sharing role
with prospective students at USC Upstate and USC. He was doing research on a Return to Learn program
which we plan to launch this fall. He worked with me on administrative details for TEN at the TOP, a
regional planning organization for the ten Upstate Counties. He has shown himself to be a self-starter
and consistently strived to give his best work on all his projects.
I am willing to provide more evaluative information about his performance as an employee to the
college. Mark has demonstrated a willingness to work, and he consistently performs at a high level. I am
so hopeful that he will be considered for a position with you.
Sincerely,
Judith S. Prince, Vice Chancellor, Greenville CampusUniversity of South Carolina Upstate 225 South Pleasantburg DriveGreenville, South Carolina 29606Phone: (864) 552-4243 Fax: (864) 250-8871
