INTRODUCTION

The services of Exsics Exploration Limited were retained by Mr, L. Bonhomme on behalf of the Reid Syndicate to complete a linecutting and geophysical program on a group of their claims located in the north central section of Loveland Township of the Porcupine Mining Division.

The purpose of this program was to test the claim group for conductive horizons which would be considered favourable areas for base metal deposition.

The program began on the 22nd of November, 1996 and was completed by the 04th of December, 1996. A total ol" 10,06 kilometers of grid lines were cut and read during the course of the ground program.

PR PJPJLRT X LOCATION AND ACCESS

The claim group is located in the north central section of Loveland Township such that Enid Creek crosses the west and southwest section of the grid in roughly a northwest-southeast direction. The grid which was established on the property is located to the east of the Creek. Figures l and 2.

Access to the claim group during the ground program was relatively easy. Highway 576 travels north off of Highway 101 West, and provides access to Kamiskotia Lake. A short distance northof the Lake, an all weather road, locally called the Abitibi road runs north-northwest off of Highway 576 and provides access to the bridge across Enid Creek. A skidoo access route was esablished along the Creek by clearing out the tag-alders and provided access to Line 0 + 00 at the baseline. Figure 2. Travelling time from Timmins to the site is approximately l hour.

Access for the survey period was along the same route except a warm spell resulted in the Creek being unsafe for skidoo access and thus resulted in a foot traverse along the edges of the creek and at times the shore to access the same line and starting point.

Travelling time for the survey crew was 2 hours from Timmins to the grid.

The field crew directly responsible for the collection of all data were as follows,

The field program was completed under the direct supervision of J. C. Grant and all of the compilation and computor work was completed by P. Gauthier of Exsics.

GROUND PROGRAM

The ground program was to be completed in two phases. The first phase was to complete a detailed metric grid which was cut to cover the north central section of the claim group. This grid consisted of 100 meter spaced lines and 25 meter spaced stations. The lines were to be cut to the north and south boundaries of the claim group from a control line, Baseline, which was cut 400 meters east from a distinctive bend in the Creek.The 4 eastern lines were 1.6 kilometers long and the 3 western lines were cut from the north claim boundary to the Creek. The total grid consisted of 10.06 ki lometers.

The second phase of the ground program was to complete a detailed magnetic survey and a deep penetrating, PEM, electromagnetic survey across hhe cut lines. The magnetic survey was read across all of the cut lines, however, the PEM survey was completed on cross lines 300,400 and 500ME, only. The collected, corrected, and levelled data was then plotted onto a base map at a scale of 1:2500 and then contoured at 20 gamma intervals where possible.

A copy of the magnetic contour map is included in the back pocket of this report.

The collected data was the plotted as stacked profiles of all 8 frequencies read, per station, per line and are presented as individual sections for each line read. These line sections are included as pull outs in this report,

Specifications for the Crone, PEM system can be found as Appendix B of this report.

SJJRVEY RESULTS

The PEM survey was not successful in locating or outlining any definite bedrock conductors on the three lines that were surveyed. The program was stopped as it was net effective enough and the property did not warrant any further coverage with type of survey method. The property appears to be underlain by sands and gravels on the central and north sections of the grid and by a more conductive clay and swamp layering on the south section of the grid.

The magnetic survey generally did little to enhance the property. The survey outlined north-northwest striking zones which seems to correlate to possible dike like structures. There may be indications of a break in the north trending units in the vicinity of the baseline with a unit striking east-west. This east -west structure can be seen in the shape of Enid Creek in the same location. A gully was also observed along the baseline which coincides with the structure,

CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

The program was not success in locating or outlining any bedrock conductors on the survey grid. Generally the property seems to be underlain by a north-northwest striking unit which appears to have been cross-cut by an east-west striking unit, most probably a minor fault or moderate shear zone.

Should further work be contemplated on the property, then it should consist of a deeper penetrating, higher powered, EM system.

The MP-2 Is a portable one gamma proton precession magnetometer for field survey or base station use. The optimized design of sen sor and circuitry using the latest CMOS com ponents has resulted in a very light weight, low power consumption, rugged and reliable magnetometer.

Light emitting diodes coupled with an in genious optically polarized reflector combine solid state reliability with easy reading even in bright sunlight.

A standard automatic recycling feature allows ready use of the MP-2, with suitable (optional) interfacing, as a base station recorder in analogue or ditigal form. Alternatively, P remote trigger can be used.

The noise-cancelling dual-coil sensor and elec tronics have been so designed as to effectively eliminate reading problems due to virtually all magnetic gradients which may be encountered in field survey conditions.

RECEIVER

FLEXIBILITY:

The equipment is not restricted to a fixed method. Since it is a Time Domain Method there are no rigid geometrical restrictions as to coil configurations. The transmit coil energizes — as small or large horizontal loops or a vertical loop. The receive coil measures — all three compo nents of the secondary fields if required. The wide frequency spectrum discriminates between zones of varying conductivity. With minor modifications the equipment has borehole capa bilities to a depth of 300 meters.

INTERPRETATION:

The equipment is capable of measuring all 3 components of the secondary fields. This information can be translated into accurate estimates of the shape and position of the conductors. The method of direct plotting of induced current paths at different frequencies is a very effective interpretative method that can be performed in the field. A complete study of borehole response curves is available, (D. Wood's Thesis).
