Better Reliability. Every™ Time.

Genuine Cummins CELECT PX injectors are built to last and are manufactured to help extend the life of Cummins engines. Sometimes it can be hard to see the difference between Genuine Cummins parts and non-genuine competitive parts, but it’s the little details that make the difference.

A full engineering evaluation was conducted on a set of six non-genuine injectors. Pass/fail criteria based on original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications and CARB/EPA engine certifications were used. A number of critical defects including assembly, dimensional, visual and performance-related issues were found in the non-genuine injectors that would significantly reduce the performance of a Cummins engine and its ability to meet emissions requirements.

Results of Analysis Failure % Impact

Corrosion on internal components 100% Degradation in engine performance due to broken or jammed components

Defective top spring retainer 50% Jammed injector due to loose, bent or worn out retainer

Low torque on solenoid and retainer 100% Fuel leaks and oil dilution

Closing current is below spec 83% Reduced injector life

Needle valve open pressure low 67% Rough idle or misfire of the engine, specifically at low idle speeds

Injector nozzle flow is too low 50% Poor performance and white smoke on the engine

Flow rates out of spec (high) 33% Poor fuel economy and bad combustion

Damage on metering spill ports 17% Excessive fuel delivery creating rough idle, smoke, poor fuel economy and misfire

Low closing time on injector solenoids 50% Suboptimal injection timing leading to bad combustion

Excessive injector fuel flow rates 33% Excessive fuel to the engine can create smoke, poor fuel economy and high torque

These non-genuine injectors would likely run for some time in Cummins engines, but at reduced performance, fuel economy, reliability, and would likely fail to meet emissions standards. Aftertreatment systems could also be negatively impacted given the increased smoke and other unintended exhaust components passing through the system.

Genuine Cummins CELECT PX Injectors provide: Longer engine life Improved fuel economy Better performance, reliability, and durability Lower emissions

Genuine Cummins parts include the latest upgrades in materials, component design, and workmanship. So replacing an injector isn’t just replacing a worn part. It’s helping to improve the performance of your engine and equipment.
