The Gebrik range consists of over 300 different natural clay brick finishes, in a number of size options. Cast in polyurethane moulds under factory controlled conditions, panels are produced (approximately one square metre) in either stretcher or stack-bond. These panels are then simply screwed directly to the substructure (masonry, timber or steel frame) on site. A comprehensive range of factory manufactured components completes the system - for external corners, window and door surrounds or special features.

The system’s insulating properties significantly improve a building’s thermal performance, and where components abut, foam is injected to ensure the façade remains impervious to water, yet still allows the wall to breathe.

Drawing on the principles of Modern Methods of Construction, this factory-manufactured system delivers significant benefits to developers, architects and contractors - improving build quality, shortening the construction programme, reducing the façade loadings (on both the foundations and frame), minimising storage and delivery requirements, improving environmental performance and reducing dependency on good weather conditions.

Robust and lightweight, Gebrik offers real benefits and tangible cost savings, whilst improving appearance, thermal performance and durability.

Traditional Finish Gebrik provides an authentic brickwork appearance, with an extensive choice of natural clay brick colours and textures - in both stretcher and stack bond. A wide range of mortar colours may be applied to contrast or complement the brickwork.

Energy EfficiencyGebrik’s excellent thermal performance significantly contributes to the achievement of low U-values, with minimal wall thickness. The system’s insulation material is environmentally friendly - no CFC or HCFC agents are used during its manufacture.

Factory ControlledAll Gebrik panels and components are factory produced, ensuring a high quality, consistent appearance that will last for over 30 years.

Low Structural Frame CostsGebrik is non load-bearing and fixed directly to the substrate - reducing the costs of reinforcements, piling, foundations and structural frame.

Flexibility of ApplicationThe system may be applied to new or existing buildings and a wide range of sub-structures - including clay or concrete masonry, timber-frame and lightweight steel frame.

Fast and Easy InstallationThe Gebrik system may be mechanically fixed in most weather conditions - providing much greater predictability to the construction programme.

Reduced Site Storage and DeliveriesUp to 700m² of Gebrik may be delivered on a standard articulated vehicle with up to 25m² on each standard pallet. If required, the system may be installed from mechanical access equipment (such as scissor lifts) reducing the costs of scaffolding, storage and wastage.

Accreditation and ComplianceGebrik has 3rd party accreditation for a minimum of 30 years’ design life (BBA certificate no 07/4403) and has been tested to determine its weathertightness for building envelopes in accordance with CWCT Standard Test Methods, 2005. As a prefabricated, off-site manufactured system, Gebrik is also MMC compliant.

Developed in Belgium over 25 years ago, the Gebrik insulating brick cladding system has been proven throughout Europe, with over 40,000 buildings benefitting from the system, across a wide range of new build and refurbishment projects.

Gebrik

Gebrik may be installed from mechanical access equipment, improving site costs and programme.

Lightweight, non load-bearing brick cladding, fixed directly to substrate, up to 18 storeys high.

Fixing instructionsTo ensure Product Liability Insurance is valid, the Gebrik system should only be installed by suitably qualified installation contractors, using all components supplied as part of the Gebrik system. A variety of fixing lengths and types are available to suit most types of substrate. If there is any doubt about the suitability of a substrate, extraction force tests should be carried out by a qualified engineer. Our Technical Department is available to provide further information and guidance.

18 no pre-located fixing positions are cast in the panel joints of each standard panel, as shown on p6 & p7. The number of fixings for each component depends on the height of the building (h) and the wind pressure (W) on the finished assembly:

h = 0 - 10m: use 9 fixings (3 rows of 3) W = 2301 Nm2
