GARDEN OF THE STARS SUMMER 2012 NOTHING?BUT POSSIBILITIES OPPORTUNITY GREAT IDEAS INITIATIVE Starting out Setting up NOW IT IS YOURS! Gardens, especially school gardens, teach and build: 1.Community, team work, and goal setting. 2.Family involvement. 3.Dedication and commitment. 4.Persistence. 5.Patience. 6.Healthy pride in individual and corporate accomplishment. VOLUNTEERS WORKING TOGETHER FAMILY & COMMUNITY Measure twice, cut once. SUMMER 2014 1.Parent assistants to work with teachers in the garden. 2.Volunteer for the garden committee and specific gardening tasks. 3.New projects: ~ Two native plant gardens (sun & shade) ~ Compost bin ~ Outdoor growing bed (cold frame) ~ Plant trellises ~ Bird feeder & a bird house ~ Reading rocks 4. Be creative. We want your ideas. HAPPY, INVOLVED STUDENTS MAKE HAPPY TEACHERS & PARENTS
