January 6th Character analysis- Scrooge. Write a page of notes exploring his character. What do we learn about him? How is he described? Why does he behave the way that he does? What regrets does he have?

January 13th Exploding and exploring quotations. Create notes for 3 key quotations of your choice. Why is it important? What techniques have been used? How does the quotation reveal something about characters? What theme can you relate each quotation to? What devices are used and how do they impact the audience? Must analyse each quote for LSTC

January 20th Character analysis- Bob Cratchit. Write a page of notes exploring his character. What do we learn about him? How is he described? Why does he behave the way that he does? Why is he so patient with Scrooge? Key quotes?

January 27th ‘Charles Dickens wrote ACC to inspire goodness in people.’ To what extent do you agree? Create at least a page of essay plan notes and use quotations, details from the novel and facts about context to support your ideas.

February 3rd Create a question-by-question Toolkit for Lang P2 Q2: What skills does each question require you to demonstrate? How many marks is the question worth and how long should you spend on it?

February 10th Q2: Summarise what you learn about Harry Potter. Must make at least one point, use a quotation to support and explain what you can infer form the quote

March 2nd Q3: Referring to the Touching the Void extract, how does the writer use language to describe how the explorer is feeling? Plan at last 2 PEAS statements, with language and technique analysis detailed / quotes exploded

March 9th Q4: Using the Bear Grylls and Livingstone extracts, compare how the writers convey their different experiences – plan your response to this, including 2 exploded quotes

March 16th Create a Persuasive Writing Toolkit – what techniques do you need to use and what impact do they have on the audience?

March 23rd Create an Advisory Writing Toolkit – what techniques do you need to use and what impact do they have on the audience?

March 30th Write a short speech persuading the head-teacher to allow you to use mobile phones in your lessons. Make sure you use a wide range of persuasive techniques
