Supporting People Funding Opportunities The Dunhill Medical Trust

The Dunhill Medical Trust aims to support large and small projects which improve the environment in which old people live. In particular, the Trust wishes to support:

• The care and environment of older people. • Rehabilitation for older people. • 'Cinderella' or 'unfashionable' projects which often find it difficult to attract funding. • The delivery of solutions that address disability, disease and frailty related to ageing.

There are four categories of award: • Building grants. • Equipment grants. • Core costs/staffing grants. • Small grants (usually under £10,000). The Trust will consider applications for direct costs such as staffing, buildings or equipment for specific purposes related to the above.

The application process is ongoing and interested applicants may apply at any time.

The Trust will work in partnership with other organisations to fund projects beyond the financial capabilities of a single organisation.

Applicants are asked to provide an initial outline (approximately two sides of A4) that includes the following information: • A brief description of the organisation and its status. • Who the applicant is and what they do within the organisation. • A description of the project for which funding is being sought, where it will take place and who it will involve. • An outline of who will benefit from the work and why. • The key outcomes and timescales. • The total cost of the project/work and the specific amount being applied for. Multi Focus Funding Opportunities Porticus UK Porticus UK offers grants to charities who are working to assist the poor and marginalised. Charities should be working in the areas of education, society, faith and care. There are no set funding limits; rather the Trust prefers to fund a variety of levels. Occasionally grants of less than £10,000 are awarded but most awards are larger. Applicants are only accepted from registered charities and registered Community Interest Companies. Although the Trust's values are based in the Catholic faith, applications are welcomed from all organisations, whether or not they have a faith basis. Particular emphasis is placed on organisations which have a proven model and wish to expand. Requests are considered for core or project costs. These may include staff salaries and overheads. Grants are available for activities that fall under the following categories: Education - purpose of education is to enable people to achieve their full potential and to contribute to the common good. Society - This is aimed at tackling the causes of poverty and injustice by supporting initiatives and organisations striving for a fairer society and the common good.
