About Symposium

Recent advancements in DNA sequencing have made enormous contribuons to understanding the biology of life forms. Reduced cost and increased speed of DNA sequencing have led to rapid growth of genomics. Funconal significance of genomic elements (genes, RNA, proteins, small molecules and phenotype) are sll being unravelled in each organism. India being a country having the richest biodiversity hotspots in the world, there is huge scope to decode genomes, understand and harness the biodiversity heritage through funconal genomics. Transdisciplinary genomics has made phenomenal discoveries in the biological sciences since last decade. To foster transdisciplinary dialogues in funconal genomics, TDU is organizing a two day “Naonal Symposium on Future of Funconal Genomics” by networking with sciensts across India.

Objecves

• Brainstorming the future of funconal genomics

• Evolving naonal network projects

• Training and capitalizing human resources in India to carry out big data research

Themes

• Advances in funconal genomic technologies

• Applicaons of funconal genomics in medicine, agriculture and environment

• Big data and bioinformacs

Program

Learning for Life at TDUNature is mulfaceted. Learning is non-linear. Recognizing this, the Instute of Transdisciplinary Health Sciences & Technology (TDU) is commied as a university, to promote inter, mul and trans disciplinary perspecves in every domain with an aim to make learning more holisc, enjoyable and thus improve learning outcomes for its students.

TransDisciplinary University (TDU) has evolved from 24 years of pioneering work of the Foundaon for Revitalizaon of Local Health Tradions (FRLHT). TDU offers undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programmes which are of contemporary relevance, and cung edge. We prepare students and scholars to have an uncommon advantage compared to their peers because of our emphasis on experienal learning and competency based evaluaon.

The School of Integrave Health Sciences focuses on disciplines such as Life Science, Genomics, Clinical Research, Local Health Tradions, Indian Systems of Medicine (Ayurveda) and Ethno-veterinary sciences. The School offers courses in the areas of Life Sciences (Ayurveda Biology), Ethno-veterinary pracces, Conservaon Future, Nadi-Vigyana, Genomics and Bioinformacs.
