If you’re exploring MBA programs, we encourage you to start by thinking differently about what you want out of your MBA experience, and focus on the difference you want that experience to make in your career.

Go beyond the rankings and glossy brochures (yes, even this one). Take time to explore programs in depth. Visit the websites. Connect directly to admissions staff and students in the program. Sit in on classes. Match your strengths and goals with the program’s strengths, course offerings, and opportunities for engaging with industries and businesses where you want to build your career.

At the Michael G. Foster School of Business, we start with the assumption that no two MBA students are the same. Everyone brings a different educational and employment background, a unique personal history, distinctive strengths, knowledge, skills, and career goals. Every new MBA student brings something different to the table and takes something different away from the MBA experience.

Can the Foster MBA Program help you develop your full potential and achieve your career goals? To answer that question, we need to know who you are and where you’re going. Let’s start a conversation.

Learn from the bestStudying with Foster MBA faculty, you’ll learn from some of the most respected thought leaders in their fields. Many consult with leading companies. They’ll keep you challenged with explorations of the latest issues and solutions.

Year one: Build your foundationYear One covers an integrated core of fundamental business concepts, skills and tools. This core wraps modules of varying length together for a solid foundation in the individual subjects—accounting, finance, marketing, operations management, and strategy—and an understanding of how they interrelate.

Year Two: specializeYear Two focuses on your personal career objectives. You’ll delve deeper into relevant subjects, and build cross-functional skills.

In addition to elective courses, you’ll complete required courses in ethics and macroeconomics.

Choose from a big menuThe Foster MBA Program offers a range of certificates, programs and concurrent degrees you can pursue as electives—inside and outside the business school. Pursue a concurrent degree in another field, collaborate with researchers on a new technology, or take your career to an international level. You can customize your MBA in many ways.

Think beyond bordersThe world today is smaller, so global opportunities for Foster graduates are bigger. Travel on a Global Business Study Tour, participate in a globally focused internship or study project, enter the Global Social Entrepreneurship Competition, or add international studies to your academic schedule.

we think smaller classes lead to bigger voices. And bigger opportunities for learning. The washington way is one of discussion, interaction, and exchange of ideas. And that suits our purposes nicely. our more intimate classes are conducive to collaborative and active education.
