Frog - Parent’s information evening

What is Frog?
Think of the FROG Virtual Learning Environment (Frog VLE) as an;
intranet,
online classroom,
and social learning space for schools, all in one.
For example, teachers can assign lessons, tests, and marks virtually, while students can submit homework and view their marks through the Frog VLE.
Parents can communicate with school, access school calendars and admin can disseminate school notices via the Internet.
The Frog VLE can be accessed anywhere, anytime with an Internet connection.
Always find our Frog VLE from the BPS website as googling Frog login will not find the correct result.
From the website use the
buttons on the top left to
access Frog

Why is it useful to you?
Dashboard
Tabs to quickly
access your child’s
attendance data,
timetable and
behaviour points.
Simple bookings sheets for
parents evening will be
available.
Notices section.
Attendance information
You will be able to access the attendance data for your child. This will not be on a lesson by lesson basis, but you will be able to see a pie chart showing amounts of authorised/unauthorised absences.
You may notice an issue with the column headings! This will be corrected by Frog in the next update.
Parents evening/IAG day booking
You will be able to book sessions with your child’s teachers through Frog.
The link on your dashboard will take you to the login page.
Your child’s timetable
On the Timetable tab on your dashboard you will see your child’s timetable. Each day has a separate tab and each row shows the time, subject, teacher and room for the lesson at that time.
Your child’s behaviour points
On the Behaviour tab on your dashboard you will see your child’s behaviour points.
Each time your child does something positive that a teacher believes is worth a ‘point’, this will be recorded.
Your child’s homework
Click on the ‘QuickLaunch’ button.
There is a link here to assignment manager.
This will show you any homework your child has been set via Frog
Frog Drive
Click on the ‘FrogDrive’ button.
There are links here to subject websites.
You will be able to see sites that teachers have made public.
Why is it useful to your child?
Your child will have access to a dashboard similar to yours but will also have access to learning resources set by teachers.
They will all have logged on in class by now.
How does your child log on?
Frog works best with Google Chrome
There are some issues when using Safari on Mac OS X, using Chrome is preferred.
Their log on is the same as they use to log on to computers in school. If they change their password for this then their Frog password is automatically changed as well.
The correct log in page will say
frog.bitterneparkschool
Access to files from home
No need to use memory sticks, your child can just open the files at home, download to your home computer work on them, then upload back to the school network.
