• Proper Installation-Be sure your appliance is properlyinstalled and grounded by a qualified technician inaccordance with the National Fuel Gas Code ANSIZ223.1 latest edition, and National Electrical CodeANSI/NFPA No. 70 latest edition, and local coderequirements. Install only per installation instructionsprovided in the literature package for this range.

Ask your dealer to recommend a qualified technician and anauthorized repair service. Know how to disconnect the elec-trical power to the appliance at the circuit breaker or fusebox in case of an emergency.

• User servicing—Do not repair or replace any part ofthe appliance unless specifically recommended inthe manuals. All other servicing should be done only bya qualified technician, This may reduce the risk ofpersonal injury and damage to the range.

• Never modify or alter the construction of a range byremoving leveling legs, panels, wire covers, anti-tipbrackets/screws, or any other part of the product.

Stepping, leaning or sitting on the dooror drawer of this range can result in serious injuriesand also cause damage to the range. Do not allowchildren to climb or play around the range. The weight of achild on an open door may cause the range to tip, resultingin serious burns or other injury.

Do not use the oven or warm & servedrawer (if equipped) for storage.

Do not store items of interest to childrenin the cabinets above a range. Children climbing on therange to reach items could be seriously injured.

NEVER use this appliance as a space heaterto heat or warm the room. Doing so may result in carbonmonoxide poisoning and overheating of the oven.

• Storage in or on Appliance—Flammable materialsshould not be stored in an oven, near surface burnersor in the drawer (if equipped). This includes paper,plastic and cloth items, such as cookbooks, plasticwareand towels, as well as flammable liquids. Do not storeexplosives, such as aerosol cans, on or near the appliance.Flammable materials may explode and result in fire orproperty damage.

• Do not leave children alone—Children should not beleft alone or unattended in the area where applianceis in use. They should never be allowed to sit or standon any part of the appliance.

• DO NOT TOUCH SURFACE BURNERS, AREAS NEARTHESE BURNERS, OVEN BURNERS OR INTERIORSURFACES OF THE OVEN. Both surface burners andoven burners may be hot even though flames are notvisible. Areas near surface burners may become hotenough to cause burns. During and after use, do nottouch, or let clothing or other flammable materials touchthese areas until they have had sufficient time to cool.Among these areas are the cooktop, surfaces facing thecooktop, the oven vent openings and surfaces nearthese openings, oven door and window.

• Wear proper apparel—Loose-fitting or hanginggarments should never be worn while using theappliance. Do not let clothing or other flammablematerials contact hot surfaces.

• Do not use water or flour on grease fires—Smotherthe fire with a pan lid, or use baking soda, a drychemical or foam-type extinguisher.

• When heating fat or grease, watch it closely. Fat orgrease may catch fire if allowed to become too hot.

In case of fire or gas leak, be sure toturn off the main gas shutoff valve.

• Use only dry potholders—Moist or damp potholderson hot surfaces may result in burns from steam. Donot let potholders touch hot heating burners. Do notuse a towel or other bulky cloth instead of a potholder.

• Do not heat unopened food containers—Buildup ofpressure may cause container to burst and result ininjury.

• Remove the oven door from any unused range if itis to be stored or discarded.

IMPORTANT—Do not attempt to operate the ovenduring a power failure. If the power fails, always turnoff the oven. If the oven is not turned off and the powerresumes, the oven may begin to operate again. Once the

power resumes, reset the clock and oven function.

Electronic controllers can be damagedby cold temperatures. When you use your appliancefor the first time, or if it has not been used for a longperiod of time, make sure that it has been exposed to atemperature above 0°C/32°F for at least 3 hours beforeconnecting it to the power supply.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR USINGYOUR COOKTOP

Use proper flame size—Adjust flame sizeso it does not extend beyond the edge of the utensil. Theuse of undersized utensils will expose a portion of theburner flame to direct contact and may result in ignition ofclothing. Proper relationship of utensil to flame will alsoimprove efficiency.

Do not use stove top grills on the burnergrates of sealed gas burners. If you use a stove top grillon a sealed gas burner, it will cause incompletecombustion and can result in exposure to carbonmonoxide levels above allowable current standards. Thiscan be hazardous to your health.

• Know which knob controls each surface burner.Place a pan of food on the burner before turning it on,and turn the burner off before removing the pan.

• Always turn the knob to the full LITE position whenigniting top burners. Visually check that burner has lit.Then adjust the flame so it does not extend beyond theedge of the utensil.

• Use proper pan size. This appliance is equipped withone or more surface burners of different sizes. Selectutensils having flat bottoms large enough to cover thesurface burner. The use of undersized utensils willexpose a portion of the surface burner to direct contactand may result in ignition of clothing. Proper relationshipof utensil to the surface burner will also improveefficiency.

• Utensil handles should be turned inward and notextend over adjacent surface burners. To reduce therisk of burns, ignition of flammable materials, andspillage due to unintentional contact with the utensil, thehandle of the utensil should be positioned so that it isturned inward, and does not extend to adjacent surfaceburners.

• Never leave surface burners unattended at high heatsettings—Boilovers cause smoking and greasyspillovers that may ignite, or a pan that has boiled drymay melt.

• Protective liners—Do not use aluminum foil to linesurface burner pans, or oven bottom, except assuggested in this manual. Improper installation of theseliners may result in risk of electric shock, or fire.

• Glazed cooking utensils—Only certain types of glass,glass/ceramic, ceramic, earthenware, or other glazedutensils are suitable for range top service withoutbreaking due to the sudden change in temperature.Check the manufacturer’s recommendations for cooktopuse.

• Do not use Searing Grill on the cooktop. The searinggrill is not designed for use on the cooktop. Doing somay result in a fire.

• Do not use decorative surface burner covers. If aburner is accidentally turned on, the decorative coverwill become hot and possibly melt. Burns will occur ifthe hot covers are touched. Damage may also be doneto the cooktop or burners because the covers maycause overheating. Air will be blocked from the burnerand cause combustion problems.

FOR GLASS COOKTOPS ONLY• Do not clean or operate a broken cooktop—If cooktop

should break, cleaning solutions and spillovers maypenetrate the broken cooktop and create a risk ofelectric shock. Contact a qualified technicianimmediately.

• Clean cooktop glass with caution—If a wet sponge orcloth is used to wipe spills on a hot cooking area, becareful to avoid a steam burn. Some cleaners canproduce harmful fumes if applied to a hot surface.

• Avoid scratching the cooktop glass with sharpobjects.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR USINGYOUR OVEN• Use care when opening oven door or warm & serve

drawer (if equipped)—Stand to the side of the rangewhen opening the door of a hot oven. Let hot air orsteam escape before you remove or replace food in theoven/ warm & serve drawer.

• Keep oven vent ducts unobstructed. The oven vent islocated at the center rear of the cooktop. Touching thesurfaces in this area when the oven is operating maycause severe burns. Also, do not place plastic or heat-sensitive items on or near the oven vent. These itemscould melt or ignite.

NEVER cover any slots, holes or passagesin the oven bottom or cover an entire rack with materialssuch as aluminum foil. Doing so blocks air flow through theoven and may cause carbon monoxide poisoning. Aluminumfoil linings may trap heat, causing a fire hazard.

• Placement of oven/warm & serve drawer (ifequipped) racks. Always place oven racks in desiredlocation while oven/warm & serve drawer (if equipped) iscool. If rack must be moved while oven is hot useextreme caution. Use potholders and grasp the rackwith both hands to reposition. Do not let potholderscontact the hot heating elements in the oven/warm &serve drawer (if equipped). Remove all utensils from therack before moving.

• Do not use a broiler pan without its insert. Thebroiler pan and its insert allow dripping fat to drain andbe kept away from the high heat of the broiler.

• Do not cover your broiler insert with aluminum foil.Exposed fat and grease could ignite.

• Do not touch a hot light bulb with a damp cloth.Doing so could cause the bulb to break. Disconnect theappliance or turn off the power to the appliance beforeremoving and replacing light bulb.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR CLEANINGYOUR RANGE• Clean the range regularly to keep all parts free of

grease that could catch fire. Exhaust fan ventilationhoods and grease filters should be kept clean. Do notallow grease to accumulate on hood or filter. Greasydeposits in the fan could catch fire. When you areflaming food under the hood, turn the fan on. Refer to thehood manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning.

• Kitchen cleaners and aerosols—Always follow themanufacturer’s recommended directions for use. Beaware that excess residue from cleaners and aerosolsmay ignite causing damage and injury.

SELF-CLEANING OVENS• In the self-Cleaning cycle only clean the parts listed

in this Use and Care Guide. Before self-cleaning theoven, remove any utensils or foods from the oven.

• Do not use oven cleaners—No commercial ovencleaner or oven liner protective coating of any kindshould be used in or around any part of the oven.

• Do not clean door gasket—The door gasket is

essential for a good seal. Care should be taken not torub, damage or move the gasket.

• Remove oven racks. Oven racks color will change if leftin the oven during a self-cleaning cycle.

The health of some birds is extremelysensitive to the fumes given off during the self-cleaning cycle of the range. Move the birds to anotherwell ventilated room.

Important Safety NoticeThe California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic EnforcementAct requires the Governor of California to publish a list ofsubstances known to the state to cause cancer, birthdefects or other reproductive harm, and requiresbusinesses to warn customers of potential exposure tosuch substances.

Conversion to Liquefied Petroleum Gas (or L.P. Gas)This natural gas range is designed to allow for conversion toLiquefied Petroleum (L.P.) Gas.

If L.P. conversion is needed, contact the service center forassistance. The L.P. Conversion Kit is provided with this rangeand is located on the right panel (right side) of the range. Beforeinstalling the kit be sure to follow the L.P. Installation Instructionscarefully.

Personal injury or death from electrical shockmay occur if the range is not installed by a qualified installeror electrician.

Any additions, changes or conversionsrequired in order for this appliance to satisfactorily meet theapplication needs must be made by an authorized ServiceCenter.

For personal safety, the cooktop must be properly grounded. Formaximum safety, the power cord must be plugged into an electricaloutlet that is correctly polarized and properly grounded.DO NOT Operate the cooktop using a 2-prong adapter or an extensioncord. If a 2-prong wall receptacle is the only available outlet, it is thepersonal responsibility of the consumer to have it replaced with aproperly grounded 3-prong wall receptacle installed by a qualifiedelectrician.See the INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS packaged with this cooktopfor complete installation and grounding instructions.

Assembly of the Surface Burner Heads, Burner Caps and Burner GratesIt is very important to make sure that all of the Surface Burner Heads, Surface Burner Caps and Surface Burner Grates areinstalled correctly and at the correct locations.

Control Locations of the Gas Surface BurnersYour range is equipped with gas surface burners withdifferent BTU ratings. The ability to heat food quicker andin larger volumes increases as the burner size increases.

The small SIMMER burner is best used for simmeringdelicate sauces, etc. This burner is located at the right rearburner position on the cooktop (see Figure 2).

The STANDARD burner can be used for most surfacecooking needs. The standard burners are located at the leftfront position and left rear position (some models) on thecooktop (see Figure 2).

The POWER burners are best used for bringing largequantities of liquid rapidly up to temperature or when preparinglarger quantities of food. The POWER burners are located atthe right front and left rear (some models) burner positions onthe cooktop (see Figure 2).

Regardless of size, always select cookware that is suitablefor the amount and type of food being prepared. Select aburner and flame size appropriate to the pan. Never allowflames to extend beyond the outer edge of the pan.

1. Remove all packing tape from cooktop area. Remove allBurner Caps and Burner Heads.

2. Discard all packing material located under Burner Heads(if applicable).

3. To replace the Burner Heads & Caps, match the letterslocated under center of Burner Caps with the letterslocated inside Burner Heads (Figure 1).

4. Match Burner Skirts with Burner Heads and Burner Caps(see Figure 1). Replace the Burner Heads and Caps oncooktop (see Figure 2). Carefully align the Electrodes intoslot or hole of each Burner Head (Figure 3). Note: TheBurner Heads should sit flat on Cooktop Burner Skirts.

5. Place the removable oven vent cover over the fixed ovenvent cover.

6. Unpack Burner Grates and position on the cooktop.

REMEMBER — DO NOT ALLOW SPILLS, FOOD,CLEANING AGENTS OR ANY OTHER MATERIAL TOENTER THE GAS ORIFICE HOLDER OPENING. Alwayskeep the Burner Caps and Burner Heads in place wheneverthe surface burners are in use.

Operating the Gas Surface Controls:1. Place cooking utensil on surface burner.2. Push the surface control knob down and turn counterclockwise out of the OFF

position.3. Release the knob and rotate to the LITE position (see figure 1). Note: All four

electronic surface ignitors will spark at the same time. However, only the burner youare turning on will ignite.

4. Visually check that the burner has a flame.5. Turn the control knob counterclockwise to the desired flame size. The control

knobs do not have to be set at a particular setting. Use the knob indicator settingsto adjust the flame as needed. DO NOT cook with the surface control knob in theLITE position. (The electronic ignitor will continue to spark if the knob is left in theLITE position.)

Do not place plastic items such as salt and pepper shakers, spoon holders or plastic wrappings ontop of the range when it is in use. These items could melt or ignite. Potholders, towels or wood spoons could catch fireif placed too close to a flame.

In the event of an electrical power outage, the surface burners can be lit manually. To light a surface burner, hold a lit matchto the burner head, then slowly turn the surface control knob to LITE. After burner lights turn the knob to desired setting. Usecaution when lighting surface burners manually.

Setting Proper Surface Burner Flame SizeFor most cooking - start on the highest control setting and then turn to a lowerone to complete the process. Use the recommendations below as a guide fordetermining proper flame size for various types of cooking. The size and type ofutensil used and the amount of food being cooked will influence the setting needed.

*Flame Size Type of CookingHigh Flame Start most foods; bring water to a boil; pan broiling.Medium Flame Maintain a slow boil; thicken sauces, gravies; steaming.Low Flame Keep foods cooking; poach; stewing.

For deep fat frying - use a thermometer and adjust the surface control knobaccordingly. If the fat is too cool, the food will absorb the fat and be greasy. If thefat is too hot, the food will brown so quickly that the center will be undercooked.Do not attempt to deep fat fry too much food at once as the food will neither brownnor cook properly.

*Note: Settings are based on using medium-weight metal or aluminum pans. Settings may vary when using other typesof pans. The color of the flame is the key to proper burner adjustment. A good flame is clear, blue and hardly visible in a well-lighted room. Each cone of flame should be steady and sharp. Adjust or clean burner if flame is yellow-orange.

Never extend the flame beyond the outeredge of the utensil. A higher flame simplywastes heat and energy, and increasesthe risk of being burned by the gas flame.

Arranging Oven RacksALWAYS ARRANGE OVEN RACKS WHEN THE OVEN IS COOL (PRIOR TOOPERATING THE OVEN). Always use oven mitts when the oven is hot.

Removing and Replacing Oven RacksTo remove, pull the rack forward until it stops. Lift upfront of rack and slide out. To replace, fit the rack ontothe guides on the oven walls. Tilt the front of the rackupward and slide the rack back into place.

Oven Vent LocationThe oven vent is located in the center rear on the cooktop. Whenthe oven is on, warm air passes through the vent. This venting isnecessary for proper air circulation in the oven and good bakingresults. DO NOT BLOCK OVEN VENT. Never close off theopenings with aluminum foil or any other material.

Multiple Oven Racks

Air Circulation in the OvenFor best air circulation and baking results allow 2-4" (5-10 cm) around the cookwarefor proper air circulation and be sure pans and cookware do not touch each other, theoven door, sides or back of the oven cavity. The hot air must circulate around the pansand cookware in the oven for even heat to reach around the food.

Some models are equipped with a blower which runs inbaking and self-cleaning mode to keep all internal components at acool temperature. It is possible that the blower keeps running even ifthe range has been turned off, until the components have cooled down.

Arranging Warm & Serve Drawer Rack PositionsThe rack can be used in 2 ways:• In the upright position to allow low profile food items to be placed both under and on top

of the rack (for example, rolls or biscuits on top of the rack and a casserole dishunderneath).

• In the downward position to allow you to place light weight food items and emptydishware (for example, rolls or pastries and dinner plates) on the rack.

Set the Warm & Serve Drawer Rack in either position as shown below (Figure 1).

Operating the Warm & Serve DrawerThe purpose of the Warm & Serve Drawer is to keep hot cooked foods at serving temperature.Always start with hot food. It is not recommended to heat cold food in the Warm & ServeDrawer. All food placed in the Warm & Serve Drawer should be covered with a lid or aluminumfoil to maintain quality. Do not use plastic wrap to cover food. Plastic may melt onto thedrawer and be very difficult to clean. Use only utensils and cookware recommended foroven use in the Warm & Serve Drawer.

Warm & Serve Drawer Temperature SelectionRecommended Warm & Serve Drawer settings table is shown in Figure 2. If aparticular food is not listed, start with the MED setting. If more crispness is desired,remove the lid or aluminum foil from the food. Most foods can be kept at servingtemperatures on the MED setting. When a combination of foods are to be kept warm(for instance, meat with 2 vegetables and rolls), use the HI setting. To avoid heat loss,do not open the Warm & Serve Drawer while in use.

To Set the Warm & Serve Drawer Controls:The control and indicator lights for the Warm & Serve Drawer features are located onthe control panel. The temperatures are approximate, and are designated by HI (high),MED (medium) and LO (low).

1. Touch the (see Figure 6) pad at the Warm & Serve Drawer control position.

The Warm & Serve Drawer indicator light will flash. Note: If no further pads aretouched within 25 seconds the request to power the Warm & Serve Drawer ON willclear.

2. Set the desired power level. Touch once to turn ON the power level for HI

(see Figure 3) or to turn ON the power level for LO (see Figure 5). The Warm

4. When the food is ready for removal, touch the

pad once to turn the Warm & Serve Drawer OFF. TheWarm & Serve Drawer indicator light will turn OFF.

Broiler Pan

Grid

BroilingBroiling is a method of cooking tender cuts of meat by direct heat under the broil element of the oven.

PreheatingPreheating is suggested when searing rare steaks. (Remove all utensils before preheating the oven. Foods will stick if placedon hot metal.) To preheat, set the control(s) to BROIL as instructed in the Owner's Guide. Wait for the element to become red-hot, usually about 2 minutes. Preheating is not necessary when broiling meats well-done.

To BroilBroil on side until the food is browned; turn and cook on the second side. Season and serve. Always pull rack out to the "stop"position before turning or removing food.

Determine Broiling TimesBroiling times vary, so watch the food closely. Time not only depends on the distance from element, but on the thickness andaging of meat, fat content and doneness preferred. The first side usually requires a few minutes longer than second. Frozenmeats also require additional time.

Broiling Tips (some models)The broiler pan and it grid allow dripping grease to drain and be kept away from thehigh heat of the broiler.

DO NOT use your pan without its grid. DO NOT cover the grid with foil. Theexposed grease could ignite.

Should an oven fire occur, close the oven door and turn off theoven. If the fire continues, throw baking soda on the fire or use fire extinguisher. DONOT put water or flour on the fire. Flour may be explosive.

Broiler Clean-Up Tips (some models):To make cleaning easier, line the bottom of the broiler pan with aluminum foil. DONOT cover the broiler grid with foil.To prevent grease from baking on, remove the broiler pan from the oven as soon ascooking is completed. Use hot pads because the broiler pan is extremely hot. Pour off grease. Soak the pan in HOT, soapywater.Clean the broiler pan as soon as possible after each use. If necessary, use soap-filled steel wool pads. Heavy scouring mayscratch the grid.

Care & Cleaning

During the Self-Cleaningcycle, the outside of the range can becomevery hot to the touch. DO NOT leave smallchildren unattended near the appliance.

The health of some birdsis extremely sensitive to the fumes givenoff during the Self-Cleaning cycle of anyrange. Move birds to another well-ventilatedroom.

DO NOT line the ovenwalls, racks, bottom or any other part of therange with aluminum foil. Doing so willdestroy heat distribution, produce poorbaking results and cause permanentdamage to the oven interior (aluminum foilwill melt to the interior surface of the oven).

DO NOT force the ovendoor open. This can damage the automaticdoor locking system. Use caution whenopening the door after the Self-Cleaningcycle is completed. The oven may still beVERY HOT.

Self-Cleaning OvenA Self-Cleaning oven cleans itself with high temperatures (well above cookingtemperatures) which eliminate soils completely or reduces them to a finepowdered ash you can wipe away with a damp cloth.

Adhere to the following cleaning precautions:• DO NOT use oven cleaners or oven protective coatings in or around any part

of the Self-Cleaning oven.• DO NOT clean the oven door gasket. The woven material of the oven door

gasket is essential for a good seal. Care should be taken not to rub, damageor remove the gasket.

• DO NOT use any cleaning materials on the oven door gasket. Doing socould cause damage.

• Remove all utensils and any aluminum foil. These items cannotwithstand high cleaning temperatures.

• Oven racks do not have to be removed. If they are not removed during theSelf-Clean cycle their color will turn slightly blue and the finish will be dull.After the cycle is complete and the oven has cooled, rub the sides of theoven racks with wax paper or a cloth containing a small amount of saladoil (this will make the racks glide easier into the rack position).

• Remove any excessive spillovers in the oven cavity before starting theSelf-Cleaning cycle. To clean, use hot, soapy water and a cloth. Largespillovers can cause heavy smoke or fire when subjected to hightemperatures. DO NOT allow food spills with a high sugar or acid content(such as milk, tomatoes, sauerkraut, fruit juices or pie filling) to remain onthe surface as they may leave a dull spot even after cleaning.

• Clean any soil from the oven frame, the door liner outside the oven doorgasket and the small area at the front center of the oven bottom. Theseareas heat sufficiently to burn soil on. Clean with soap and water.

NOTE: Prior to setting the Self-Clean cycle, any spills remaining on the ovenbottom should be removed.

What to Expect during Cleaning:While the oven is in operation, the oven heats to temperatures much higherthan those used in normal cooking. Sounds of metal expansion and contrac-tion are normal. Odor is also normal as the food soil is being removed.Smoke may appear through the oven vent.

If heavy spillovers are not wiped up before cleaning, they may flame andcause more smoke and odor than usual. This is normal and safe and shouldnot cause alarm. If available, use an exhaust fan during the self-cleaningcycle.

NOTE: A smoke eliminator in the oven vent converts most of the soil into acolorless vapor.

How to Clean

Use hot, soapy water and a cloth. Dry with a clean cloth.

Using a soft cloth, clean with mild dish detergent and water or a 50/50 solution of vinegarand water. Follow by rinsing the area with clean water; dry and polish with a soft cloth. Glasscleaners may be used if sprayed on a soft cloth first. DO NOT spray liquids directly on thecontrol pad and display area. Do not use large amounts of water on the control panel -excess water on the control area may cause damage to the appliance. Do not use otherliquid cleaners, abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or paper towels - they will damage thefinish. To remove control knobs, turn to the OFF position; grasp firmly and pull straight offthe shaft. To replace knobs after cleaning, line up the flat sides of both the knob and theshaft; then push the knob into place.

Before cleaning the control panel, turn all controls to OFF and remove the control knobs.To remove, pull each knob straight off the shaft. Clean as instructed above. Squeezeexcess water from the cloth before wiping the panel; especially when wiping around thecontrols. Excess water in or around the controls may cause damage to the appliance. Toreplace knobs after cleaning, line up the flat sides of both the knob and the shaft; thenpush the knob into place.

Clean burner grates, broiler pan and insert(some models) in the dishwasher and dry uponremoval. If soils are not removed, follow the cooktop cleaning instructions below.

Gentle scouring with a soapy scouring pad will remove most spots. Rinse with a 1:1solution of clear water and ammonia. If necessary, cover difficult spots with an ammonia-soaked paper towel for 30 to 40 minutes. Rinse with clean water and a damp cloth, thenscrub with a soap-filled scouring pad. Rinse and wipe dry with a clean cloth. Remove allcleaners or the porcelain may become damaged during future heating. DO NOT use sprayoven cleaners on the cooktop.

Clean stainless steel with hot, soapy water and a dishcloth. Rinse with clean water anda cloth. Do not use cleaners with high concentrations of chlorides or chlorines. Donot use harsh scrubbing cleaners. Only use kitchen cleaners that are especially madefor cleaning stainless steel. Always be sure to rinse the cleaners from the surface asbluish stains may occur during heating that cannot be removed.

Remove racks. See "To remove and to replace an oven rack" under Oven vent(s) andracks. Use a mild, abrasive cleaner, following manufacturer's instructions. Rinse withclean water and dry. After cleaning the racks, rub the sides of the racks with wax paperor a cloth containing a small amount of baby oil or salad oil (this will make the racks glideeasier into the rack positions).

Use soap & water to thoroughly clean the top, sides and front of the oven door. Rinse well.You may use a glass cleaner on the outside glass of the oven door. DO NOT immersethe door in water. DO NOT spray or allow water or the glass cleaner to enter the doorvents. DO NOT use oven cleaners, cleaning powders or any harsh abrasive cleaningmaterials on the outside of the oven door.

DO NOT clean the oven door gasket. The oven door gasket is made of a woven material,on Self-Cleaning models, which is essential for a good seal. Care should be taken not torub, damage or remove this gasket.

Any additions, changes or conversions required in order for this appliance to perform satisfactorily must bemade by authorized servicer.

To Remove and Replace the Surface Burner Caps and Burner Heads - Removein the following order: (1st) surface Burner Grates, (2nd) Burner Caps and (3rd)Burner Heads. Reverse the procedure above to replace the surface Burner Caps,Burner Heads and Burner Grates.

Do not remove any parts from the cooktop until they have completely cooledand are safe to handle. Do not operate the surface Burners without the BurnerCaps and Burner Heads properly in place.

To Clean the surface Burner Caps and Burner Heads- Use a soap-filled scouringpad or a mild abrasive cleanser to clean the surface Burner Caps and BurnerHeads. The ports (or slots) around the Burner Heads must be routinely cleaned.If residue still remains in these ports, use a small-gauge wire or needle to cleanthe slots or holes. For proper flow of gas and ignition of the burner—DO NOTALLOW SPILLS, FOOD, CLEANING AGENTS OR ANY OTHER MATERIAL TOENTER THE GAS ORIFICE HOLDER OPENING. ALWAYS keep the surfaceBurner Caps and Burner Heads in place whenever the gas Burners are in use.

To Clean the Burner Grates- The Burner Grates are dishwasher safe and may becleaned in the dishwasher. Remove any excessive soils before placing in thedishwasher.

To Clean the Cooktop and contoured areas of the Cooktop- If a spill occurs onor in the recessed or contoured areas, blot up spill with an absorbent cloth. Rinsewith a clean, damp cloth and wipe dry. Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners on thecooktop. They can scratch the pocelain. Completely rinse any mild cleaners usedfrom the surface or the porcelain cooktop may become damaged during futureheating. DO NOT use spray oven cleaners on the cooktop.

Cleaning the Cooktop, Burner Heads, Caps & GratesThe cooktop is designed to make cleaning easier. Because the gas Burners are sealed, cleanups are easy when spillovers arecleaned up immediately.

The cooktop, Burner Heads and Caps should be routinely cleaned. Keeping the Burner Head Ports clean will prevent improperignition and an uneven flame. Refer to the following instructions:

Use caution when replacing the Burner Caps so the Electrodes are not damaged. This may cause a delayedignition or prevent the burner from igniting.

THE COOKTOP IS NOT REMOVABLE. Do not attempt to remove or lift the cooktop.

THE FIXED OVEN VENT IS NOT REMOVABLE. Do not attempt to removethe fixed oven vent cover.

Care and Cleaning of Stainless Steel (Stainless Steel models only)Some models are equipped with stainless steel exterior parts. Special care and cleaningare required for maintaining the appearance of stainless parts. Please refer to the tableprovided at the beginning of the General Care & Cleaning section in this Use & Care Guide.

Removing and Replacing the Oven Door The door is heavy. For safe, temporary storage, lay the door flat with the

inside of the door facing down.

To Remove Oven Door:1. Open the door to the fully opened position.2. Pull up the lock located on both hinge supports and engage it in the hinge levers

(Figure 1). You may have to apply a little downward pressure on the door to pull thelocks fully over the hooks.

3. Grab the door by the sides, pull the bottom of the door up and toward you to disen-gage the hinge supports. Keep pulling the bottom of the door toward you whilerotating the top of the door toward the range to completely disengage the hingelevers (Figure 2).

4. To clean oven door, follow the instructions provided in the General Care & Cleaningtable.

To Replace Oven Door:1. Grab the door by the sides; place the hinge supports in the hinge slots. Open the door

to the fully opened position.2. Disengage the lock from the hinge levers on both sides (Figure 3).

Note: Make sure the hinge supports are fully engaged before unlocking the hinge levers.3. Close the oven door.

Special Door Care Instructions - Most oven doors contain glass that can break.Read the following recommendations:1. Do not close the oven door until all the oven racks are fully in place.2. Do not hit the glass with pots, pans, or any other object.3. Scratching, hitting, jarring or stressing the glass may weaken its structure causing an

increased risk of breakage at a later time.

Removing and Replacing Regular Storage Drawer (some models)Use the storage drawer for storing cooking utensils. The drawer can be removed to fa-cilitate cleaning under the range. Use care when handling the drawer.To remove the drawer:1. Pull empty drawer out to the roller guide stop.2. Tilt the drawer up and pull it out over the rollers.

To replace the drawer:1. Insert the rear end of the drawer into the opening.2. Fit the drawer end rollers onto the guide rails.3. Push the drawer in until it stops, then lift to allow the rollers to clear the roller guide stop,

Bearing Glide

Changing Oven Light Be sure the oven is unplugged and all parts are COOL before replacing the oven light bulb. Do not turn the oven

light on during a self-cleaning cycle. High temperature will reduce lamp life.On some models an interior oven light will turn on automatically when the oven is opened.The oven light may be turned on when thedoor is closed by using the oven light switch located on the Electronic Oven control. The oven light bulb is covered with a glass shieldheld in place by a wire holder. THIS GLASS SHIELD MUST ALWAYS BE IN PLACE WHEN THE OVEN IS IN USE.

To Replace the Light Bulb: BE SURE OVEN IS COOL1. Turn the power off at the main source.2. Wear a leather-faced glove for protection against possible broken glass.3. Replace bulb with a 40 Watt appliance bulb only.4. For self-cleaning oven, press wire holder to one side to release glass shield, change bulband be sure to replace glass shield.

Before you callSolutions to Common Problems

POSSIBLE CAUSE/SOLUTION(1) Poor installation. Place oven rack in center of oven. Place a level on the oven rack. Adjust leveling legs atbase of range until the rack is level. When range is level, cooktop may appear out of alignment if countertopis not level. (2) Weak, unstable floor. Be sure floor is level and can adequately support range. If floor issagging or slopping, contact a carpenter to correct the situation. (3) Kitchen cabinet misalignment may makerange appear to be unlevel. Be sure cabinets are square and have sufficient room for range clearance.

(1) Cabinets not square or are built in too tight. Contact a cabinet maker to correct the problem. (2) Contactbuilder or installer to make appliance accessible.(3) Carpet interferes with range. Provide sufficient space sorange can be lifted over carpet. (4) Gas line is hard-plumbed. Have a flexible C.S.A international approvedmetal appliance connector installed.

(1) Make sure cord/plug is plugged tightly into outlet. (2) Service wiring is not complete. Call an authorizedservicer. (3) Electrical power outage. Check house lights to be sure. Call your local electric company forservice. Surface burners can be lit manually.

(1) Electronic control has detected a fault condition. Press STOP/CLEAR to clear the display and stopbeeping. Reprogram oven. If fault recurs, record fault number. Press STOP/CLEAR and call an authorizedservicer for assistance.

(1) Replace or tighten bulb. See Changing Oven Light section in this Use & Care Guide. (2) Electrical poweroutage. Check house lights to be sure. Call your local electric company for service.

(1) Surface control knob has not been completely turned to LITE. Push in and turn the surface control knob toLITE until burner ignites and then turn the surface control knob to the desired flame size. (2) Burner ports areclogged. Clean burners. See “Cleaning the Burner Grates, Burner Caps and Burner Heads” under GeneralCleaning. (3) Range power is disconnected from outlet. Be sure cord is securely plugged into the outlet. (4)Electrical power outage. (5) Be sure the gas supply to the range is turned “ON”.

(1) Burner ports or slots are clogged. With the burner off, use a small-gauge wire or needle to clean ports orslots. (2) Moisture is present after cleaning. Lightly fan the flame and allow the burner to operate until flame isfull. Dry the burners thoroughly following instructions under General Cleaning.

(1) Dust particles in main line. Allow the burner to operate a few minutes until flame turns blue. (2) Salt air incoastal areas. A slightly orange flame is unavoidable.

(1) Many factors affect baking results. Make sure the proper rack position is used. Center food in the ovenand space pans to allow air to circulate. Allow the oven to preheat to the set temperature before placing foodin the oven. Try adjusting the recipes’ recommended temperature or baking time. If you feel the oven is toohot or cool, see “Recalibrating Your Oven Temperature” section in the Electronic Oven Control Guide.

(1) A cooling fan may automatically turn on and off to cool internal parts. It is normal, and the fan maycontinue to run even after oven is turned off.

(1) Excessive spillovers in oven. Set self-clean cycle for a longer cleaning time. (2) Excessive spillovers inoven. This is normal, especially for pie spillovers or large amounts of grease on the oven bottom. Wipe upexcessive spillovers before starting the self-clean cycle. If flames or excessive smoke are present, stop theself-clean cycle and follow the steps under "Stopping or Interrupting the Self-Cleaning Cycle" in theElectronic Oven Control Guide.

(1) Meat is too close to the element. Reposition the rack to provide proper clearance between the meat andthe oven boil element. (2) Meat is not properly prepared. Remove excess fat from meat. Remove remainingfatty edges to prevent the meat from curling, but do not cut into the lean of the meat. (3) Broiler pan usedwithout the Broiler Pan Insert or insert is covered with foil. DO NOT use your Broiler Pan without the BroilerPan Insert or cover the insert with foil. (4) Broiler Pan or Broiler Pan Insert needs to be cleaned. Excessivesmoking is caused by buildup of grease or food spatters. Clean your Broiler Pan and Insert on a regularbasis. (5) Oven door is open. Oven door should be closed when broiling.

(1) Control(s) not set properly. Follow instructions under “Oven Cleaning” in the Electronic Oven ControlGuide.(2) Self-cleaning cycle was interrupted. Stop time must be 2 to 4 hours past the start time. Follow stepsunder "Stopping or Interrupting the Self-Cleaning Cycle" in the Electronic Oven Control Guide.

(1) Set Self-Clean cycle for a longer cleaning time. (2) Failure to clean bottom front, top of oven or door areasoutside oven seal. These areas are not in the Self-Cleaning area, but get hot enough to burn on foodresidue. Clean these areas before starting the Self-Clean cycle. Burned-on residue may be cleaned with astiff nylon brush and water or nylon scrubber. Be careful not to damage the oven gasket.

IMPORTANT SAFETYINSTRUCTIONSInstallation of this range must conform with local codesor, in the absence of local codes, with the National FuelGas Code ANSI Z223.1/NFPA .54-latest edition.

This range has been design certified by CSAInternational. As with any appliance using gas andgenerating heat, there are certain safety precautions youshould follow. You will find them in the Use and CareGuide, read it carefully.

• Be sure your range is installed and groundedproperly by a qualified installer or servicetechnician.

• This range must be electrically grounded inaccordance with local codes or, in their absence,with the National Electrical Code ANSI/NFPA No.70—latest edition. See Grounding Instructions.

• Before installing the range in an area covered withlinoleum or any other synthetic floor covering,make sure the floor covering can withstand heat atleast 90°F above room temperature withoutshrinking, warping or discoloring. Do not install therange over carpeting unless you place an insulating pador sheet of ¼" (10,16 cm) thick plywood between therange and carpeting.

• Make sure the wall coverings around the rangecan withstand the heat generated by the range.

• Do not obstruct the flow of combustion air at theoven vent nor around the base or beneath thelower front panel of the range. Avoid touching thevent openings or nearby surfaces as they may becomehot while the oven is in operation. This range requiresfresh air for proper burner combustion.

Never leave children alone orunattended in the area where an appliance is in use.As children grow, teach them the proper, safe use of allappliances. Never leave the oven door open when therange is unattended.

Stepping, leaning or sitting on thedoors or drawers of this range can result in seriousinjuries and can also cause damage to the range.

• Do not store items of interest to children in thecabinets above the range. Children could be seriouslyburned climbing on the range to reach items.

• To eliminate the need to reach over the surfaceburners, cabinet storage space above the burnersshould be avoided.

• Adjust surface burner flame size so it does notextend beyond the edge of the cooking utensil.Excessive flame is hazardous.

• Do not use the oven as a storage space. Thiscreates a potentially hazardous situation.

• Never use your range for warming or heating theroom. Prolonged use of the range without adequateventilation can be dangerous.

• Do not store or use gasoline or other flammablevapors and liquids near this or any otherappliance. Explosions or fires could result.

• In the event of an electrical power outage, the surfaceburners can be lit manually. To light a surface burner,hold a lit match to the burner head and slowly turn theSurface Control knob to LITE. Use caution whenlighting surface burners manually.

• Reset all controls to the "off" position after usinga programmable timing operation.

FOR MODELS WITH SELF-CLEAN FEATURE:• Remove broiler pan, food and other utensils

before self-cleaning the oven. Wipe up excessspillage. Follow the precleaning instructions in the Useand Care Guide.

• Unlike the standard gas range, THIS COOKTOP ISNOT REMOVABLE. Do not attempt to remove thecooktop.

Toreduce the risk of tippingof the range, the rangemust be secured byproperly installed anti-tipbracket provided withthe range. To check ifthe bracket is installedproperly, grasp the toprear edge of the rangeand carefully tilt itforward to make surethe range is anchored.

2. Provide an adequate Gas SupplyWhen shipped from the factory, this unit is designed tooperate on 4"(10,16 cm) water column (1.0 kPa) Naturalgas manifold pressure. A convertible pressure regulator isconnected to the range manifold and MUST beconnected in series with the gas supply line. If LP/Propane conversion kit has been used, follow instructionsprovided with the kit for converting the pressureregulator to LP/Propane use.

Care must be taken during installation of range not toobstruct the flow of combustion and ventilation air.

For proper operation, the maximum inlet pressure to theregulator should be no more than 14"(35,56 cm) ofwater column pressure (3.5 kPa). The inlet pressure tothe regulator must be at least 1" (.25 kPa) greater thanthe regulator manifold pressure setting. Examples: Ifregulator is set for natural gas 4"(10,16 cm) manifoldpressure, inlet pressure must be at least 5"(12.60 cm); ifregulator has been converted for LP/Propane gas10"(25,4 cm) manifold pressure, inlet pressure must beat least 11"(27,9 cm).

Leak testing of the appliance shall be conductedaccording to the instructions in step 4.

The gas supply line should be ½" or ¾" I.D. (InteriorDiameter)

3. Seal the openingsSeal any openings in the wall behind the range and in thefloor under the range after gas supply line is installed.

1. Cabinet Construction To eliminate the risk of cabinet burns and

fire, do not have cabinet storage space above the range.If there is cabinet storage space above range, reduce riskby installing a range hood that projects horizontally aminimum of 5" (12.7 cm) beyond the bottom of thecabinet.

Countertop Preparation• The cooktop sides of the range fit over the cutout edge

of your countertop.• If you have a square finish (flat) countertop, no

countertop preparation is required. Cooktop sides laydirectly on edge of countertop.

• Formed front-edged countertops must have moldededge shaved flat 3/4" (1.9 cm) from each front cornerof opening (Figure 2).

• Tile countertops may need trim cut back 3/4"(1.9cm) from each front corner and/or rounded edgeflattened (Figure 2).

• If the existing cutout width is greater than30-1/16" (76,4 cm), reduce the ¾" (1.9 cm)dimension.

• Countertop must be level. Place a level on thecountertop, first side to side, then front to back. If thecountertop is not level, the range will not be level. Theoven must be level for satisfactory baking results.Cooktop sides of range fit over edges of countertopopening.

Formed or tile countertoptrimmed 1¼" (3.2 cm) back atfront corners of countertop

opening.

You must also clear2 3/16" (5.56 cm) ofmaterial from front

of countertop.

Assemble the flexible connector from the gas supply pipeto the pressure regulator in the following order:1. manual shutoff valve (not included)2. 1/2" nipple (not included)3. 1/2" flare union adapter (not included)4. flexible connector (not included)5. 1/2" flare union adapter (not included)6. 1/2" nipple (not included)7. pressure regulator (included)

Use pipe-joint compound made for use with Natural andLP/Propane gas to seal all gas connections. If flexibleconnectors are used, be certain connectors are notkinked.

The supply line must be equipped with an approvedmanual shutoff valve. This valve should be located in thesame room as the range and should be in a location thatallows ease of opening and closing. Do not block accessto the shutoff valve. The valve is for turning on orshutting off gas to the appliance.

Once regulator is in place, open the shutoff valve in thegas supply line. Wait a few minutes for gas to movethrough the gas line.

Check for leaks. After connecting the range to the gassupply, check the system for leaks with a manometer. Ifa manometer is not available, turn on the gas supply anduse a liquid leak detector (or soap and water) at alljoints and connections to check for leaks.

Do not use a flame to check for leaksfrom gas connections. Checking for leaks with a flamemay result in a fire or explosion.

Tighten all connections as necessary to prevent gasleakage in the range or supply line.

Isolate the range from the gas supply piping systemby closing its individual manual shutoff valve during anypressure testing of the gas supply piping system at testpressures equal to or less than 1/2 psig (3.5 kPa or 14"water column).

5. LP/Propane Gas ConversionThis appliance can be used with Natural gas or LP/Propanegas. It is shipped from the factory for use with natural gas.

If you wish to convert your range for use with LP/Propanegas, use the supplied fixed orifices located in a bagcontaining the literature marked "FOR LP/PROPANE GASCONVERSION." Follow the instructions packaged withthe orifices for surface, oven and broil burnersconversion.

The conversion must be performed by a qualified servicetechnician in accordance with the manufacturer'sinstructions and all local codes and requirements. Failureto follow these instructions could result in serious injuryor property damage. The qualified agency performingthis work assumes responsibility for the conversion.

Failure to make the appropriateconversion can result in serious personal injury andproperty damage.

Grounding InstructionsIMPORTANT Please read carefully.

For personal safety, this appliance must be properlygrounded.

The power cord of this appliance is equipped with a 3-prong (grounding) plug which mates with a standard 3-prong grounding wall receptacle (see Figure 7) tominimize the possibility of electric shock hazard from theappliance.

The wall receptacle and circuit should be checked by aqualified electrician to make sure the receptacle isproperly grounded.

8. Range InstallationImportant Note: Door removal is not a requirement forinstallation of the range, but is an added convenience.Refer to the Use and Care Guide for oven door removalinstructions.

Standard Installation1. The range cooktop (or cooktop glass) overlaps the

countertop at the sides and the range rests on thefloor. The cooktop (or cooktop glass) is 31½" (81 cm)wide.

2. Install base cabinets 30" (76.2 cm) apart. Make surethey are plumb and level before attaching cooktop.Shave raised countertop edge to clear 31½" (81 cm)wide range top rim.

3. Install cabinet doors 31" (78.7 cm) min. apart so theywill not interfere with range door opening.

4. Cutout countertop exactly as shown on page 1.5. A backguard kit can be ordered through Service

Center.6. To provide an optimum installation, the top surface of

the countertop must be level and flat (lie on the sameplane) around the 3 sides that are adjacent to rangecooktop. Proper adjustments to make the top flatshould be made or gaps between the countertop andthe range cooktop (or cooktop glass) may occur.

7. To reduce the risk of damaging yourappliance, do not handle or manipulate it by thecooktop. Manipulate with care.

8. Position range in front of the cabinet opening.9. Make sure that the cooktop (or cooktop glass) which

overhangs the countertop clears the countertop. Ifnecessary, raise the unit by lowering the leveling legs.

10.Level the range (see section 9). The floor where therange is to be installed must be level. Follow theinstructions under "Leveling the Range-ModelsEquipped with Leveling Legs".

11.Adjust leveling legs so that the underside of thecooktop (or cooktop glass) is sitting on thecountertop.

12.Carefully screw in the back leveling leg until thecooktop (or cooktop glass) overhang touches slightlythe countertop. The cooktop must not support theunit.

13.Slide the range into the cutout opening.14.Then carefully screw in the front two leveling legs

(similar to 12) until the cooktop (or cooktop glass)overhang touches slightly the countertop.

15.If the range is not level, pull unit out and readjustleveling legs, or make sure floor is level.

Installation For 29" Existing Cutout Width Opening1. You must replace the original side panels with new and

thinner side panels. These new side panels can beordered through a Service Center.

2. Follow instructions supplied with your new side panels toreplace the original side panels with the new ones.

Do not, under any circumstances, cut or remove thethird (ground) prong from the power cord.

Disconnect electrical supply cord fromwall receptacle before servicing cooktop.

7. Moving the Appliance forServicing and CleaningTurn off the range line fuse or circuit breakers at the mainpower source, and turn off the manual gas shut-off valve.Make sure the range is cold. Remove the service drawer(warmer drawer on some models) and open the oven door.Lift the range at the front and slide it out of the cut-outopening without creating undue strain on the flexible gasconduit. Make sure not to pinch the flexible gas conduit atthe back of the range when replacing the unit into the cut-out opening. Replace the drawer, close the door and switchon the electrical power and gas to the range.

9. Leveling the RangeLevel the range and set cooktop height beforeinstallation in the cut-out opening.1. Install an oven rack in the center of the oven.2. Place a level on the rack (see Figure 8). Take 2

readings with the level placed diagonally in onedirection and then the other. Level the range, ifnecessary, by adjusting the 4 leg levelers with awrench (see Figure 14).

3. Taking care to not damage the countertop, sliderange into cutout opening and double check forlevelness.

NOTE: There are noburner adjustmentsnecessary on this range.

Remove all packaging from the oven before testing.

10.1 Install Burner Bases and Burner CapsThis range is equipped with sealed burnersas shown (see Figure 9).a. Unpack burner bases and burner caps.b. Place burner bases over each gas opening.c. Make sure the burner is properly aligned and leveled.

Place burner caps over appropriate burner bases.

10.2 Turn on Electrical Power and OpenMain Shutoff Gas Valve

10.3 Check the IgnitersOperation of electric igniters should be checked afterrange and supply line connectors have been carefullychecked for leaks, and range has been connected toelectric power. To check for proper lighting:a.Push in and turn a surface burner knob to the LITE

position. You will hear the igniter sparking.b. The surface burner should light when gas is available

to the top burner. Each burner should light within four(4) seconds after air has been purged from supplylines. Visually check that burner has lit.

c. Once the burner lights, the control knob should berotated out of the LITE position.

There are separate ignition devices for each burner. Tryeach knob separately until all burner valves have beenchecked.

10.4 Adjust the "LOW" Setting of SurfaceBurner Valves (see Figure 10)a.Push in and turn each control to LITE until burner

ignites.b. Quickly turn knob to LOWEST POSITION.c. If burner goes out, readjust valve as follows:

Reset control to OFF. Remove the surface burnercontrol knob, insert a thin-bladed screw driver into thehollow valve stem and engage the slotted screwinside. Flame size can be increased or decreased withthe turn of the screw.Adjust flame until youcan quickly turn knobfrom LITE to LOWESTPOSITION withoutextinguishing theflame. Flame shouldbe as small as possiblewithout going out.

10.5 Operation of Oven Burners and OvenAdjustments10.5.1 Electric Ignition BurnersOperation of electric igniters should be checked after rangeand supply line connectors have been carefully checked forleaks, and range has been connected to electric power.

The oven burner is equipped with an electric control systemas well as an electric oven burner igniter. If your model isequipped with a waist-high broil burner igniter, it will alsohave an electric burner igniter. These control systemsrequire no adjustment. When the oven is set to operate,current will flow to the igniter. It will "glow" similar to alight bulb. When the igniter has reached a temperaturesufficient to ignite gas, the electrically controlled oven valvewill open and flame will appear at the oven burner. There isa time lapse from 30 to 60 seconds after thermostat isturned ON before the flame appears at the oven burner.When the oven reaches the display setting, the glowingigniter will go off. The burner flame will go "out" in 20 to30 seconds after igniter goes "OFF". To maintain any givenoven temperature, this cycle will continue as long as thedisplay is set to operate.

After removing all packing materials and literature from theoven:a) Set the oven to BAKE at 300°F. See Use & Care Guide

for operating instructions.b) Within 60 seconds the oven burner should ignite. Check

for proper flame, and allow the burner to cycle once.Reset controls to off.

c) If your model is equipped with a high-waist broiler, setoven to broil. See Use & Care Guide for operatinginstructions.

d) Within 60 seconds the broil burner should ignite. Checkfor proper flame. Reset controls to off.

10.5.2 Air Shutter-Oven Burner

disengage front of oven bottom from oven frontframe, and pull the oven bottom out of the oven.Remove burner baffle so that burner flame can beobserved.

If the flame is yellow, increase air shutter opening size(see "2" in Figure 12). If the entire flame is blue,reduce the air shutter opening size.

To adjust frame loosen lock screw (see "3" in Figure12), reposition air shutter, and tighten lock screw.Replace oven bottom.

10.5.3 Air Shutter-Broil BurnerThe approximate flame length of the burner is 1 inch(distinct inner cone of blue flame). To determine if the broilburner flame is proper, set the oven to broil. If flame isyellow, increase air shutter opening size (see "2" in Figure12 ). If the entire flame is blue, reduce the air shutteropening size. To adjust, loosen lock screw (see "3" in Figure12), reposition air shutter, and tighten lock screw.

When All Hookups are CompleteMake sure all controls are left in the OFF position.

Make sure the flow of combustion and ventilation air tothe range is unobstructed.

Model and Serial Number LocationThe serial plate is located on the oven front framebehind the oven door (some models) or on the drawerside frame (some models).

When ordering parts for or making inquiries about yourrange, always be sure to include the model and serialnumbers and a lot number or letter from the serial plateon your range.

Your serial plate also tells you the rating of the burners,the type of fuel and the pressure the range wasadjusted for when it left the factory.

Before You Call for ServiceRead the Before You Call Checklist and operatinginstructions in your Use and Care Guide. It may saveyou time and expense. The list includes commonoccurrences that are not the result of defectiveworkmanship or materials in this appliance.

Refer to your Use & Care Guide for service phonenumbers.

The approximate oven burner flame length is 1 inch(distinct inner cone of blue flame).

To determine if the oven burner flame is proper,remove the oven bottom and burner baffle and set theoven to bake at 300°F.

To remove the oven bottom, remove oven hold downscrews at rear of oven bottom. Pull up at rear,

Brackets attach to the floor at the back of the range tohold both rear leg levelers. When fastening to the floor,be sure that screws do not penetrate electrical wiring orplumbing. The screws provided will work in either woodor concrete.1. Unfold paper template and place it flat on the floor

with the back and side edges positioned exactlywhere the back and sides of range will be locatedwhen installed. (Use the diagram below to locatebrackets if template is not available. (Figure 13))

2. Mark on the floor the location of the 4 mountingholes shown on the template. For easier installation,3/16" (0.5 cm) diameter pilot holes 1/2" (1.3 cm)deep can be drilled into the floor.

3. Remove template and place brackets on floor withturned up flange to the front. Line up holes inbrackets with marks on floor and attach with 4screws provided. Brackets must be secured to solidfloor. If attaching to concrete floor, first drill 3/16"(0.5 cm) dia. pilot holes using a masonry drill bit.

4. Level range if necessary, by adjusting 4 leg levelerswith wrench (Figure 14). A minimum clearance of 1/8" (0.8 cm) is required between the bottom of therange and the rear leg levelers to allow room for theanti-tip brackets.

5. Slide range into place making sure rear legs aretrapped by ends of brackets. Range may need to beshifted slightly to one side as it is being pushed backto allow rear legs to slide under brackets. You mayalso grasp the top rear edge of the range andcarefully attempt to tilt it forward to make surerange is properly anchored.

11. Anti-Tip Brackets InstallationInstructions

To reduce the risk of tipping of the range,the range must be secured to the floor by properlyinstalled anti-tip brackets and screws packed with therange. These parts are located in a plastic bag in theoven. Failure to install the anti-tip brackets will allow therange to tip over if excessive weight is placed on anopen door or if a child climbs upon it. Serious injurymight result from spilled hot liquids or from the rangeitself.

Follow the instructions below to install the anti-tipbrackets.

If range is ever moved to a different location, the anti-tipbrackets must also be moved and installed with therange. To check for proper installation, see step 5.

• No almacene ni utilice gasolina u otros vapores ylíquidos inflamables en la proximidad de éste o decualquier otro artefacto eléctrico. Puede provocarincendio o explosión.

• En caso de una interruptión del servicio eléctrico, esposible de encender los quemadores de superficie amano. Para encender un quemador de superficie,acerque un fósforo encendido del cabezal delquemador, y gire delicadamente el botón de control desuperficie a LITE (encendido). Tener cuidado alencender los quemadores a mano.

• Ajuste todos los controles a la posición "OFF"(apagada) después de haber hecho una operacióncon tiempo programado.

La presiónde entrada al regulador debe ser por lo menos 1" (.25kPa) más grande que la válvula distribuidora.Ejemplos: Siregulador se pone para el gas natural con una presión de4"(10,16 cm), la presión de entrada al regulador debeser por lo menos 5"(12.60 cm); si el regulador se haconvertido para gas LP/Propane 10"(25,4 cm) la presiónde entrada al regulador debe ser por lo menos 11"(27,9cm).

Un examen de detection de fugas del aparato debe serrealizado según las instrucciones en el paso 4.

5. Conversión para uso de PropanoLíquidoEste aparato puede ser usado con gas natural o propanolíquido. Ha sido ajustado en la fábrica para operar congas natural solamente.

Si desea convertir su estufa para uso con propanolíquido, use los orificios provistos ubicados en el bolsoque contiene la literatura titulada "FOR LP/PROPANEGAS CONVERSION." Siga las instrucciones que vienencon los orificios.

La conversión debe ser efectuado por un técnico deservicio capacitado, de acuerdo con las instrucciones delfabricante y con todos los códigos y requisitos de lasautoridades correspondentes. Use sellador para uniones de tuberías hecho para el usode gas natural y LP/Propane para sellar todas lasconectiones de gas. Si se utilizan los conectadoresflexibles, aseguresé de que los conectadores no estánenroscados.

Compruebe para saber si hay fugas de gas. Despuésde conectar la estufa con la fuente de gas, compruebeel electrodomestico para saber si hay fugas con un

7. La mudanza del aparato parareparaciones o limpiezaApague la corriente eléctrica a la estufa a la fuente depoder principal, y apague la válvula de cierre manual degas. Asegúrese de que la estufa esté fresca. Quite el cajónde servicio (el cajón calentador en algunos modelos) y abrela puerta del horno. Levante la frente de la estufa ydeslícela fuera de la abertura sin crear tensión desmedidasobre el conducto flexible de gas. Asegúrese de nopellizque el conducto flexible de gas detrás de la estufa alreemplazar la unidad en la abertura. Reemplace el cajón,cierre la puerta y enciende el gas y la corriente eléctrica ala estufa.

7. Para reducir el riesgo de dañar suartefacto, no lo manipule cerca del vidrio cerámico.Manipúlelo con cuidado.

8. Coloque la cocina enfrente de la abertura del armario.9. Asegúrese de que el vidrio que está colgado sobre la

10. Comprobación del funcionamientoConsulte el Manual del Usuario incluído con la estufapara instrucciones de operación y instrucciones para elcuidado y limpieza de su estufa.

No toque los elementos o quemadores. Pueden estarbastante calientes para causar quemaduras.

Quite todo el embalaje de la unidad antes decomprobarla.

10.1 Instala las Bases y las tapas de losQuemadoresEsta estufa esta equipada con quemadoressellados como mostrado (vea la Figura 9).a. Desembale las basas y las tapas de los quemadores.b. Coloque una basa de quemador sobre cada abertura

de gas.c. Asegurese que el quemador está correctamente

alineado y nivelado. Coloque las tapas de losquemadores sobre las correctas basas de quemadores.

10.2 Enciende la corriente eléctrica y abre laválvula principal de cierre.

10.3 Comprobación de los EncendedoresEl funcionamiento de los encendedores eléctricosdebe ser comprobado después de que la estufa y losconectores a la tubería de suministro de gas hayansido comprobados para las fugas y la estufa haya sidoconectada eléctricamente. Para comprobar que elencendido sea correcto:

a. Empuje y gire un bottón control del quemador superiorhasta la posición LITE (encender). Se podría oír elencendedor haciendo chispas.

b. El quemador se deberá encender en cuatro (4)segundos para un funcionamiento normal, después deque el aire haya sido purgado de la tubería desuministro de gas. Controle visualmente que elquemador se haya encendido.

c. Después de que el quemador se haya encendido, laplancha de cocina debe ser girada fuera de la posiciónLITE. Cada quemador tiene su encendedor individual.Controle las perillas separadamente hasta que todaslas válvulas hayan sido controladas.

10.4 Ajuste de la Posición LOW (BAJA) Para laVálvula del Quemador Superior (Figura 10)a. Gire el bottón de control a la posición LITE (encender)

hasta que el quemador encienda.b. Rápidamente gire el bottón de control a la POSICION

MAS BAJA.c. Si el quemador se apaga, reajuste la válvula de la siguiente

forma: Mueva el control a la posición OFF (apagada).Saque la perilla de control del quemador superior, inserte undestornillador plano pequeño en el hueco del vástago del aválvula hasta enganchar el tornillo interior. El tamaño de lallama puede ser aumentado o disminuido girando el tornillo.Ajuste el tamaño de la llamahasta que pueda pasarrápidamente de la posición LITEhasta la posición MAS BAJA sinque se apague la llama. Lallama debe ser lo más pequeñaposible sin que se apague.

10.5 Operación de Quemadores del Horno yAjustes de Horno10.5.1 Quemadore de ignicón electricaLa operación de los encendores eléctricos debe de serrevisada despúes de que la cocina y los conectores de la líneade suministro haya sido cuidadosamente revisada paradescartar fugas y que la cocina haya sido conectada a lacoriente eléctrica.

El quemador del horno está equipado con un sistema decontrol electrico así como un encendedor de quemador dehorno eléctrico. Si su modelo esta equipado con unquemador de asado central superior, también contará con unencendedor de quemador eléctrico. Estos sistemas de controlno requieren ajustes. Cuando el horno esta configurado paraoperar, la coriente fluirá hacia el encendedor y tendrá unresplandor de manera similar a una bombilla de luz. Cuandoel encendedor a alcanzado una temperatura suficiente paraencender el gas, la válvula del horno controladaeléctricamente se abrirá y el fuego aparecerá en el quemadordel horno. hay un lapso de tiempo de 30 a 60 segundosdepués de que el termostato se enciende y antes de que lallama aparezca en el quemador del horno. Cuando el hornoalcanza la configuración del dial, el encendedorresplandeciente se apagará. la llama del quemadordesaparecerá por 20 a 30 segundos después de que elencendedor se apage. Para mantener qualquier temperaturade horno dada, este ciclo continuará tanto como el dial (ovisualizador) esté configurado para operar.

Después de retirar todos los materiales del empaque y laliteratura del horno:a) Fije el horno en HORNEAR (BAKE) a 300°F. Vea la guía de

Uso y Cuidado para conocer las instrucciones defuncionamiento.

b) En 60 segundos el quemador del horno se encenderá.Revise que exista un fuego adecuado, y permita que elquemador cumpla su ciclo una vez. Gire los controladoreshacia off (APAGADO).

c) Si su modelo esta equipado con un asador central superior,fije el horno en ASAR.Vea la Guía de Uso y Cuidado paraconocer las instrucciones de funcionamento.

d) En 60 segundos el quemador de asar debe de encenderse.Revise si exista una llama adecuada. Gire los controleshacia off (APAGADO).

10.5.2 Obturador del Aire - Quemador del horno

La longitud aproximada de la llama del quemador delhorno es 1 pulgada (interior claro, llama azul). Paradeterminar si la llama del quemador de horno es laadecuada, retire el fondo del horno y el deflector delquemador i fije el horno en la opción hornear a 300°F.

Para retirar el fondo del horno, retire los tornillos deajuste del horno en la parte posteior del fondo delhorno. jale hacia arriba, desenganche el frente del fondodel marco anterior del horno, y jale la base hacia a fuerade éste. retire el deflector del quemador de manera quela llama del quemador pueda ser observada.

Si la llama es de color amarillo, aumente el tamaño de laabertura del obturador de aire (Vea el tamaño "2" en elgráfico de abjo). Si la llama es de azul claro, reduzca eltamaño de la abertura del obturador de aire. Para ajustarun tornillo de cierre flojo (Vea el gráfico "3" de ariba),vuelva a colocar el obturador de aire, y ajuste el tornillode cierre. Reemplace el fondo del horno.

10.5.3 Obturador de aire - Quemador de asadoLa longitud aproximada de la llama del quemador deasado es 1 pulgada (interior claro, llama azul). Paradeterminar si la llama del quemador de asado es laadecuada, poner el horno en la opción asar.

Si la llama es de color amarillo, aumente el tamaño dela abertura del obturador de aire (Vea el tamaño "2"en el gráfico de abjo). Si la llama es de azul claro,reduzca el tamaño de la abertura del obturador deaire, y ajuste el tornillo de cierre.

Después de Terminar la InstalaciónAsegúrese de que todos los controles estén en la posiciónOFF (apagada).

Asegúrese de que el fluir del aire de combustión y deventilación a la estufa no esté obstruido.

Los soportes se fijan al suelo en la parte trasera de laestufa para sujetar ambos niveladores de las patastraseras. Cuando los esté instalando al piso, asegúrese deque los tornillos no penetren el alambrado eléctrico oplomería. Los tornillos provistos pueden utilizarse enmadera o concreto.1. Desdoble la plantilla de papel y colóquela plana en

el piso con los bordes laterales y el trasero colocadosexactamente donde la parte trasera y los lados de laestufa serán colocados cuando sea instalada. (Use eldiagrama siguiente para ubicar los soportes si no sedispone de la plantilla (Figura 13)).

2. Marque en el piso la ubicación de los 4 agujeros demontaje como se muestra en la plantilla. Parafacilitar la instalación, se pueden taladrar agujerospiloto de 3/16" (0.5 cm) de día. y 1/2" (1.3 cm) deprofundidad en el piso.

3. Saque la plantilla y coloque los soportes en el pisocon la brida hacia arriba dirigida hacia el frente.Alinee los agujeros en los soportes con las marcas enel piso y sujete con los 4 tornillos provistos. Lossoportes deben estar asegurados al piso firme. Si seva a instalar en piso de concreto, primero debetaladrar agujeros guía de 3/16" (0.5 cm) de diámetrousando una broca para taladro de mampostería.

4. Nivele la estufa si es necesario ajustando las cuatropatas niveladoras con una llave (Ver la Figura 14abajo). Se requiere un espacio libre mínimo de 1/8"(0.8 cm) entre la parte inferior de la estufa y losniveladores de las patas traseras para dejar espaciopara los soportes antivuelco.

5. Deslice la estufa a su lugar asegurándose de que laspatas traseras estén sujetas por los extremos de lossoportes. La estufa puede necesitar ser movidaligeramente a un lado cuando está siendo empujadahacia atrás para permitirque las patas se alineencon los soportes. Ustedtambién puede asir elborde trasero de la cimade la estufa ycuidadosamente intentarvoltearla para asegurarsede que la estufa seaadecuadamenteanclada.

11. Instrucciones de instalación de lafijación anti-inclinación

Para reducir el riesgo de inclinación dela cocina, ésta debe ser asegurada hacia el piso con lasfijaciones de anti-inclinación y los tornillos que vienencon la cocina. Estos componentes se encuentran en elhorno. Si no instala las fijaciones, corre el riesgo que sucocina pueda inclinarse si pone demasiado peso en ellao si un niño sube sobre ésta. Esto podría ocasionargraves heridas causadas por líquidos calientes o por lapropia cocina.

Siga estas instrucciones para instalar las fijaciones de anti-inclinación.

Si la cocina es trasladada a otro lugar, las fijaciones de anti-inclinación deben también ser trasladados con la cocina. Paracontrolar la instalación apropiada, vea el paso número 5.

La conception de cette cuisinière a été approuvée parCSA international. Il faut prendre certaines précautionsd’usage lors de l’utilisation de tout appareil fonctionnantau gaz naturel ou produisant de la chaleur. Voustrouverez celles-ci dans votre Guide d’utilisateur, lisez-lesavec attention.

• Assurez-vous que votre cuisinière estcorrectement installée et mise à la terre par uninstallateur ou un technicien d’entretien qualifié.

• Le circuit électrique de cette cuisinière doit êtremis à la terre conformément aux règlementslocaux, ou en leurs absences, au code électriqueANSI/NFPA No.70-dernière édition. Voir lesinstructions de mise à la terre.

• Avant d’installer la cuisinière à un endroitrecouvert de linoléum ou de tout autrecouvre-plancher synthétique, assurez-vous quecelui-ci peut résister à un minimum de 90°F(32.2°C) de chaleur au-dessus de la températurede la pièce sans se rapetisser, se déformer ou sedécolorer. N’installez pas la cuisinière sur un tapis, àmoins de placer un tampon isolant ou une feuille decontreplaqué d’une épaisseur de ¼" (0.6 cm) entre lacuisinière et le tapis.

• Assurez-vous que la tapisserie à proximité dufour peut résister à la chaleur générée par lacuisinière.

• Ne bloquez pas la circulation d’air à l’orifice deventilation du four ni autour de la base ou sousle panneau inférieur avant de la cuisinière. Évitezde toucher les ouvertures de l’orifice de ventilation oules surfaces avoisinantes car elles risquent de devenirchaudes lorsque le four fonctionne. Les brûleurs ontbesoin d’air frais pour assurer une bonne combustion.

Ne laissez jamais les enfantsseuls ou sans surveillance près d’un appareil enfonctionnement. Apprenez-leur à utiliser les appareilsélectroménagers de façon sécuritaire et appropriée. Nelaissez jamais la porte du four ouverte lorsque lacuisinière est sans surveillance.

Le fait de monter sur la porteou le tiroir de cette cuisinière, de s’y appuyer ou des’y asseoir peut occasionner des blessures graves,et endommager l’appareil.

• N’entreposez pas d’objets susceptiblesd’intéresser les enfants dans les armoires situéesau-dessus de la cuisinière. Ils risquent de se brûlersérieusement s’ils tentent de grimper sur l’appareil.

• Évitez de placer des armoires de rangementau-dessus des brûleurs afin d’éliminer les gestesinutiles au-dessus de ceux-ci.

• Réglez la flamme du brûleur pour qu’elle nedépasse pas le bord de l’ustensile utilisé pour lacuisson. Une flamme excessive est dangereuse.

• N’utilisez pas le four à des fins de rangement.Ceci génère une situation éventuellement dangereuse.

• N’utilisez jamais votre cuisinière pour réchauffer ouchauffer la pièce. L’utilisation prolongée de la cuisinièresans une ventilation adéquate peut s’avérer dangereuse.

• Ne gardez pas de produits combustibles, d’essenceet d’autres produits inflammables à proximité decet appareil ou de tout autre appareil. Il pourrait enrésulter des explosions ou un incendie.

• Lors d'une panne de courant électrique, les brûleurs desurface peuvent être allumés manuellement; placezune allumette allumée près de la tête du brûleur ettournez lentement le bouton de commande de surfaceà la position LITE. Redoublez de prudence si vousallumez un brûleur de surface manuellement.

• Replacez toutes les commandes à la position arrêt«off» après l’utilisation d’une fonction programmablechronométrée.

POUR MODÈLES AYANT UN FOUR AUTONETTOYANT:• Enlevez la lèchefrite, les aliments et les autres

1. Construction de l’armoire Pour éliminer les risques de

brûlures ou de feu, en étendant le bras au-dessus dessurfaces de cuisson chaudes, évitez d’installer desarmoires au-dessus de ces dernières. Si vous devez eninstaller, il est possible de réduire le risque en plaçantune hotte pour cuisinière qui excède horizontalementd’un minimum de 5" (12.7 cm) la base de l’armoire.

Préparation du dessus de comptoir• Les côtés de la plaque de cuisson de la cuisinière

s’ajustent au-dessus du rebord du découpage dudessus de comptoir.

• Si vous avez un dessus de comptoir au fini carré(plat), aucune préparation n'est requise.

• Les dessus de comptoir au rebord avant moulédoivent être aplanis de ¾" (1.9 cm) à chaque coinavant de l’ouverture (Figure 2).

• Il est possible qu’il soit nécessaire d’araser de ¾" (1.9cm) les dessus de comptoir en mosaïque à chaquecoin avant et/ou d’aplanir le rebord arrondi (Figure 2).

2. Alimentation en gaz – InstallationCet appareil a été conçu en usine pour fonctionner augaz naturel avec une pression d’admission de 4"(10,16cm) de colonne d’eau (1.0 kpa). Un régulateur depression convertible est branché avec la rampe à gaz dela cuisinière, et DOIT RESTER connecté en série avec letuyau d’alimentation. Si un kit de conversion au gazpropane est utilisé, suivez les instructions de conversioncomprises dans le feuillet fourni pour convertir lerégulateur pour être utilisé avec le gaz propane.

Une attention particulière doit être prise lors del'installation de l'appareil pour ne pas obstruer la prised'air pour la combustion et le conduit de ventilation del'appareil.

Pour un fonctionnement normal, la pression intérieuremaximale au régulateur ne doit pas être supérieure à14"(35,56 cm) (3.5 kpa) de pression de colonne d’eau.La pression d’admission au régulateur doit êtresupérieure d’au moins un pouce (ou de .25 kpa) aurégulateur ajusté à la rampe à gaz. Pour le gaz naturel,le régulateur étant ajusté à 4"(10,16 cm) de pression(1.0 kpa), la pression d’admission doit être d’au moins 5"(12,7 cm) de colonne d’eau (1.25 kpa). Pour le gazpropane, le régulateur étant ajusté à 10"(25,4 cm) depression (2.5 kpa), la pression d’admission doit être d’aumoins 11 po (27,9 kpa).

La ligne d’alimentation doit être munie d’un robinetd’arrêt approuvé (voir Figure 6). Ce robinet doit setrouver dans la même pièce que la cuisinière et à unendroit qui permette de l’ouvrir et de le fermerfacilement. Ne bloquez pas l’accès au robinet d’arrêt. Ilest destiné à ouvrir et à fermer l’alimentation en gaz del’appareil.

Les tests pour vérifier les fuites de gaz doivent être faitsselon les instructions de l'étape 4.

La ligne de gaz doit être de ½" (1.3 cm) ou de ¾" (1.9cm).

3. Scellez les ouverturesScellez toutes les ouvertures dans le mur à l'arrière de lacuisinière ainsi que celles dans le plancher sous l'appareilune fois que la ligne de gaz est installée.

• Le dessus de comptoir doit être à niveau. Placezun niveau sur le dessus de comptoir, d’abord dechaque côté, et ensuite du devant à l’arrière. Si ledessus de comptoir n’est pas horizontal, la cuisinièrene le sera pas non plus. Le four doit être àl’horizontale pour obtenir des résultats de cuissonsatisfaisants.

• Si la largeur du dessus de comptoir estsupérieure à la largeur minimum requise, ajustezen conséquence le ¾" (1.9 cm).

Une fois le régulateur en place, ouvrez le robinet de laligne d’alimentation en gaz. Attendez quelques minutespour permettre au gaz circuler à travers la canalisationpour le gaz.

Veillez à ce qu’il n’y ait pas de fuites. Après avoirraccordé l’alimentation en gaz à la cuisinière, à l’aided’un manomètre vérifiez si le système ne fuit pas. Sivous ne disposez pas d’un manomètre, ouvrezl’alimentation en gaz et utilisez un liquide détecteur defuites sur tous les joints et les raccords.

N’utilisez pas de flamme nue

pour vérifier les fuites de gaz. La détection des fuites àl’aide d’une flamme pourrait provoquer un incendie ouune explosion.

Resserrez tous les raccords si nécessaire, afin deprévenir les fuites de gaz dans la plaque de cuisson ou letuyau d’alimentation.

Débranchez la cuisinière et fermez son robinetd’alimentation en gaz lors de toute vérification depression du circuit d’alimentation de gaz à une pressionsupérieure à 1/2 lb/po2 (3.5 kpa ou 14"(35,56 cm)colonne d’eau).

Isolez la cuisinière du réseau d’alimentation en gazen fermant son robinet d’arrêt manuel, lors de toutevérification de pression du circuit d’alimentation en gazà une pression inférieure ou égale à 1/2 lb/po2 (3.5 kpaou 14 po. colonne d’eau).

Le régulateur est situé telque montré ici.

5. Conversion au gaz propaneCet appareil fonctionne au gaz naturel ou au gazpropane. Il est réglé en usine pour fonctionner au gaznaturel.

Si vous désirez convertir votre cuisinière au gaz propane,servez-vous des orifices fixes fournis dans l’enveloppeportant l’inscription «POUR CONVERSION AU GAZPROPANE». Suivez les instructions d’installation setrouvant dans l’enveloppe.

Un installateur qualifié doit effectuer la conversionconformément aux instructions du fabricant et à tous lescodes et règlements applicables. Si ces instructions nesont pas suivies à la lettre, il pourrait en résulter desérieuses blessures corporelles ou des dommagesmatériels. L’entreprise d’installation qualifiée quieffectue ce travail assume la responsabilité de laconversion.

Si on n’effectue pas la conversion

correctement, il pourrait en résulter des blessurescorporelles et des dommages matériels.

6. Branchez le courant électrique àla cuisinièreCircuit de dérivation de 120 volt, 60 Hertz, avec mise àla terre appropriée, protégé par un disjoncteur de 15ampères ou un fusible temporisé.

N'utilisez pas de cordon de rallonge pour brancherl'appareil.

Instructions de mise à la terre

IMPORTANT Veuillez lire attentivement.

Pour votre propre sécurité, cet appareil doit êtrecorrectement mis à la terre.

Afin de réduire au minimum les risques de chocsélectriques, le cordon d'alimentation de cet appareil estmuni d'une fiche de contact tripolaire (mise à la terre)enfichable dans une prise de courant murale tripolairestandard avec mise à la terre (figure 7).Il est conseillé de faire vérifier la prise de courant muraleet le circuit par un électricien qualifié, afin de s'assurerque la prise de courant est correctement mise à la terre.

Débranchez le cordon d'alimentationélectrique de la prise de courant murale avant deréparer ou de nettoyer la plaque de cuisson.

7. Déplacement de l'appareil en vued'en faire le service ou pour faire dunettoyageCoupez l'alimentation électrique de l'appareil à la boîtedes fusibles ou des disjoncteurs et fermez le robinetmanuel d'alimentation à gaz. Défaites la connexion dela tuyauterie rigide au régulateur. Il n'est pas nécessairede défaire cette connexion si un conduit flexible estutilisé. Assurez-vous que l'appareil est froid. Retirez letiroir de rangement, puis ouvrez la porte du four.Soulevez la cuisinière à l'avant et faites-la glisser hors deson gîte, tout en évitant de soumettre le conduit à gazflexible à des contraintes excessives. Lorsque lacuisinière est replacée dans son gîte, veillez à ne pascoincer le conduit à gaz flexible et le câbled'alimentation électrique derrière l'appareil.Reconnectez la tuyauterie rigide au régulateur (siapplicable) et vérifier qu'il n'y a pas une fuite de gaz dujoint. Replacez le tiroir, fermez la porte et réalimentezl'appareil en gaz et en électricité.

4. Installez l'appareil dans l'armoire tel que décrit à la sectionprécédente.

Installation avec un dosseretLa profondeur du découpage de 21¾" (55.2 cm) minimum et22 1/8" (56.2cm) maximum doit être augmentée à 24" (61 cm)lorsqu’un dosseret est installé sur l’appareil.

Installation de panneaux latérauxDistancez les portes des armoires de 31" (78.7 cm) minimumafin qu’elles n’interfèrent pas avec l’ouverture de la porte dufour.

9. Mise à niveau de la cuisinièreMettez la cuisinière de niveau et ajustez la hauteurde la table de cuisson avant de l’installer dans ledécoupage du comptoir.1. Installez une grille au centre du four.2. Déposez un niveau à bulle sur la grille (voir la figure

8). Prenez 2 lectures en plaçant le niveau en diago-nale dans une direction, puis dans l’autre direction. Sinécessaire, ajustez les vis de nivellement à l’aided’une clé (reportez-vous à la figure 14).

3. Glissez délicatement la cuisinière, en faisant attentionde ne pas abîmer le dessus du comptoir, dans ledécoupage du comptoir et vérifiez si elle est encorede niveau.

8. Installation de la cuisinière Note Importante: L'enlèvement de la porte du four n'est pas

requis pour l'installation de l'appareil, mais la facilitegrandement. Référez-vous au manuel d'utilisationpour connaître les étapes.

Installation Standard1. La table de cuisson chevauche, de chaque côté, le dessus du

comptoir et la cuisinière repose sur le plancher. La largeur dela table de cuisson est de 31½" (81 cm).

2. Les armoires sous le comptoir doivent être distantes de 30"(76.2 cm). Assurez-vous qu’elles sont d’aplomb et de niveauavant d’y installer la cuisinière. Araser le rebord bombé àl’extrémité avant du comptoir pour obtenir un ajustementserré de 31½" (81 cm) entre les bords extérieurs de la table decuisson et le comptoir.

3. Distancez les portes des armoires de 31" (78.7 cm) minimumafin qu’elles n’interfèrent pas avec l’ouverture de la porte dufour.

4. Découpez le comptoir tel que montré à la page 17.5. Si un dosseret doit être installé, un nécessaire de service (kit)

peut être commandé par l’intermédiaire de votre marchand.6. Afin d'obtenir une installation maximale, les 3 côtés du

comptoir recevant l'appareil doivent être plat et à niveau. Tousles ajustements adéquats afin que le comptoir soit platdoivent être faits sinon des espaces entre l'appareil et lecomptoir peuvent se produire.

7. Pour éviter d'endommager l'appareil,

ne pas le saisir ou le manipuler par la vitre de la surface decuisson. Manipulez-le avec soin.

8. Placez l'appareil devant l'ouverture du comptoir.9. Assurez-vous que la surface de cuisson vitrifiée allant par

dessus le comptoir est plus haute que le comptoir. Si tel n'estpas le cas, levez l'appareil en baissant les pattes de nivelle-ment.

10.Nivelez la cuisinière (voir la section 9). Le plancher quisupporte la cuisinière doit être de niveau.

11.Ajustez les vis de nivellement pour que le dessous de la tablede cuisson repose au dessus du comptoir.

12.Doucement relevez les vis de nivellement arrière afin que lasurface vitrifiée touche à peine le comptoir. La surface vitrifiéene doit pas supporter l'appareil.

13.Glissez l'appareil dans l'ouverture du comptoir.14.Finalement, relevez doucement les vis de nivellement avant

(comme en 11) jusqu'à ce que la surface vitrifiée touche àpeine le comptoir.

15. Si la cuisinière n’est plus de niveau, tirez-la hors dudécoupage et réajustez les vis de nivellement ou assurez-vous que le plancher est bien au niveau.

10.5 Fonctionnement et réglage des brûleursdu four.10.5.1 Brûleurs à allumage électriqueLe fonctionnement des allumeurs électriques devrait êtrevérifié après que la cuisinière et l'arrivée de gaz aient étévérifiées minutieusement pour détecter les fuites et que lacuisinière ait été branchée au réseau électrique.

Le brûleur du four est muni d'un allumeur électrique ainsi qued'un système de commande électrique. Si votre modèle estmuni d'un brûleur de rôtisserie à alimentation par priseunique, il aura également un allumeur électrique. Cessystèmes de commande ne nécessitent aucun ajustement.Lorsque le fourneau sera prêt à fonctionner, le courantparviendra à l'allumeur qui deviendra incandescent et lorsqu'ilaura atteint la température d'ignition du gaz, la valve decommande du four commandée électroniquement s'ouvriraet une flamme apparaîtra au brûleur du fourneau. Il y a undélai de 30 à 60 secondes après que le thermostat soit mis enposition "ON" et le moment que la flamme apparaisse aubrûleur du fourneau. Lorsque le four atteint la températureréglée au cadran, l'allumeur s'éteint. La flamme du brûleurs'éteint entre 20 et 30 secondes après que l'allumeur eut étécoupé. Ce cycle continuera pour maintenir toute températureréglée jusqu'à ce que l'indicateur/cadran soit remis à "OFF".

Après avoir enlevé tout matériel d'emballage et ladocumentation du four,a) Réglez le four pour cuire "BAKE" à 300ºF. Voir le Guide

d'utilisation et d'entretien pour les directives d'opération.b) Le brûleur du four devrait s'allumer en dedans de 60

secondes. Vérifiez si la flamme est convenable, répétezla procédure une autre fois et remettez le bouton decommande à la position Arrêt (OFF).

c) Si votre modèle est muni d'un brûleur de rôtisserie àalimentation par prise unique, réglez le fourneau àrôtissage (BROIL). Voir le Guide d'utilisation et d'entretienpour les directives d'opération.

d) Le brûleur de la rôtisserie devrait s'allumer en dedans de60 secondes. Vérifiez si la flamme est convenable etremettez le bouton de commande à "OFF".

10.2 Branchez l’alimentation en électricitéet ouvrez le robinet principald’alimentation en gaz

10.3Vérifiez les allumeursIl faut vérifier le fonctionnement des allumeursélectriques après que la cuisinière et les raccords dutuyau d’alimentation aient été eux-mêmes vérifiésrelativement aux fuites et que la cuisinière ait étébranchée à la prise de courant.Pour vérifier si l’allumage est adéquat :a. Appuyez sur le bouton de commande d’un brûleur de

surface et tournez-le à la position «LITE». Vousentendrez les étincelles de l’allumeur électrique quiallume le brûleur.

b. Le brûleur de surface doit s’allumer lorsque le gaz estdisponible au brûleur supérieur. En fonctionnementnormal, chaque brûleur doit s’allumer dans un délaide quatre (4) secondes après que l’air ait été purgédes canalisations d’alimentation. Regardez si lebrûleur est allumé.

c. Une fois le brûleur allumé, le bouton de commandedoit être tourné à une autre position que LITE.

Il existe des dispositifs d’allumage séparés pour chaquebrûleur. Essayez chaque bouton séparément jusqu’à ceque tous les robinets de brûleur aient été vérifiés.

10.4 Réglez la position LOW des robinetsdes brûleurs de surface (voir Figure 10)1. Appuyez sur une commande et tournez-la à LITE

jusqu’à ce que le brûleur s’allume.2. Tournez rapidement le bouton à la position la plus

basse (LOW).3. Si le brûleur s’éteint, ajustez le robinet comme suit:

Remettez le bouton de commande à arrêt (OFF).Enlevez le bouton de commande du brûleur desurface, insérez un tournevis à pointe droite fine dansla tige creuse du robinet et insérez dans la tête de lavis. La hauteur de la flamme peut être augmentée oudiminuée en tournant la vis. Ajustez la flamme

10.5.2 Brûleur du fourneau à clapet d'air

La longueur approximative de la flamme du brûleur dufourneau est de 1" (25 mm) (centre de flamme bleu distinct).

Pour déterminer si la flamme du brûleur du four est adéquate,enlevez le fond du four et l'enceinte du brûleur et réglez lacommande du four à 300°F.

Enlevez les vis de maintien à l'arrière du fond du fourneaupour pouvoir retirer le fond du fourneau. Soulevez à l'arrière,dégagez le fond avant du cadre du four et retirez le fond dufourneau hors de celui-ci. Enlevez l'enceinte du brûleur pourvoir la flamme. Si la flamme est de couleur jaune, augmentezl'ouverture du clapet d'air (voir "2" à la figure 12). Si laflamme est bleue, réduisez l'ouverture du clapet d'air.

Pour faire le réglage, desserrez la vis de blocage ("3" à lafigure 12), repositionnez le clapet d'air et serrez la vis deblocage. Replacez le fond du fourneau.

11. Instructions de sécurité importantes Pour réduire le risque de

basculement de la cuisinière, protégez-la en installant lesvis et les supports anti-bascules fournis. Ils sont situésdans un sac de plastique dans le four. Si vous n’installezpas ces supports anti-bascules, la cuisinière risque debasculer si un poids excessif est placé sur une porteouverte ou si un enfant y grimpe. Les renversements deliquides chauds ou le basculement de la cuisinièrepeuvent provoquer de sérieuses blessures.

Suivez les instructions ci-dessous pour installer lessupports anti-bascules.

Si vous déplacez la cuisinière pour l’installer à un autreendroit, vous devez également déplacer les supportsanti-bascules pour les installer avec la cuisinière. Voyezl’étape 5 pour vérifier comment procéder à uneinstallation correcte.

Instructions d’installation des supportsanti-basculesLes supports anti-bascules se fixent au plancher, àl’arrière de la cuisinière, pour retenir les deux piedsniveleurs. En les fixant au plancher, assurez-vous que lesvis ne pénètrent pas dans la plomberie ou le câblageélectrique. Les vis fournies fonctionneront aussi bien dansdu bois que dans du béton.

1. Dépliez le gabarit de papier et placez-le à plat sur leplancher, l’endos et les extrémités des côtésexactement à l’endroit où l’arrière et les côtés de lacuisinière seront placés lors de l’installation (utilisez lediagramme ci-dessous pour localiser les supportsanti-bascules si le gabarit de papier n’est pasdisponible (Figure 13)).

2. Tracez sur le plancher l’emplacement des 4 trous demontage indiqués sur le gabarit. Pour faciliterl’installation, des trous pilotes d’un ½"(1.3 cm) deprofondeur et 3/16" (0.5 cm) de diamètre peuvent êtrepercés dans le plancher.

3. Enlevez le gabarit et placez les supports anti-basculessur le plancher, le rebord renversé vers l’avant.Alignez les trous dans les supports anti-bascules avecles trous tracés sur le plancher et fixez avec les 4 visfournies. Les supports anti-bascules doivent être fixéssur un plancher solide. Si vous les fixez à un plancheren béton, percez d’abord des trous pilotes de 3/16"(0.5 cm) de diamètre à l’aide d’un foret à maçonneriede 3/16" (0.5 cm) diamètre.

4. Mettez la cuisinière à niveau au besoin, en l’ajustantavec les 4 pieds niveleurs à l’aide d’une clé à molette(voir Figure 14). Un dégagement minimum de 1/8"(0.3 cm) est requis entre le bas de la cuisinière et lespieds niveleurs arrières pour disposer de suffisammentd’espace pour installer les supports anti-bascules.

5. Replacez la cuisinière en la faisant glisser, en vousassurant que les pieds arrière ont été bien agrippés parles extrémités des supports anti-bascules. Il est possibleque vous ayez à la déplacer légèrement d’un côté enla repoussant vers l’arrière pour que les pieds arrières’alignent avec les supports anti-bascules. Agrippez ledessus de l’extrémité arrière de la cuisinière et essayezsoigneusement de l’incliner vers l’avant pour vousassurer que la cuisinière est correctement ancrée.
