KiwiPlus 2016 General Setup Reminders
If you are using KiwiPlus without FreshPack you must import a Zespri Material File before entering any inventory.If you are using FreshPack you must export masterdata from FreshPack to KiwiPlus before sending any inventory into KiwiPlus.
Don’t forget to update your Materials via a Material RFI before you start packing!!!For the 2016 season, KiwiPlus has been installed WITHOUT Zespri Materials (empty validcom table)

To avoid any embarrassment, please don’t forget to request and import pallet card and UFI Batch numbers before you start packing.
If you are using FreshPack the pallet card numbers will be required in KiwiPlus when repalletising fruit to new pallets.
KiwiPlus 2016 Getting exclusive access to the database
Consider all the different applications that are mining data or replicating data, these applications will need to be closed prior to the pack and reindex i.e. FreshSense, Quality Manager, FreshInsights, Auto Replication and FreshPack.
KiwiPlus 2016 GA(Gold 3) Maturity Area Changes
Gold3 TZG and clearance colour protocol will be reported at a size level, not a maturity area level, from the 2016 season. This is because of the strong relationship between dry matter and size and colour and size.
Gold3 Taste will be paid by size based on the maturity area's best TZG by size sample result. This is calculated as the sample with the highest weighted average TZG where the weighting is based on the maturity area's final gross submit by count size. Until submit is complete and this highest weighted average TZG is calculated growers will not know what sample provides the highest result.
KiwiPlus 2016 GA(Gold 3) Maturity Area Changes
Gold3 taste bands will return to the Y/T/M naming convention (previous 1-9 taste bands). Each size will receive a Taste Band.
The J/R disorder indicator is no longer required as the Y/T/M taste bands will be used to determine fruit that can be packed for Japan
To deal with the Gold3 size detail, Zespri has made major changes to the content of lab result messages and the way those messages are received and processed that impacts all varieties.
KiwiPlus 2016 GA(Gold 3) Maturity Area Data
This season GA fruit will be field tested at a fruit size level. This will result in an MAT record for each size in a GA Maturity Area as well as a single “ALL” size MAT record for Maturity Area. This “ALL” size record is the parent record for the Maturity Area.
NON GA Maturity Areas have a single “ALL” MAT record only.
When we import the Maturity Area file we store the GA Size data in a separate table. “MatAreaSize” table.
We also automatically create Size data for varieties other than GA. This allows for consistency and future proofing of data and code.

When a new Packrun is created we copy the Maturity Area size data into the “PackrunSize” table.
The data in this table as well as the current packrun data is used when creating new records at pallet creation. eg,. ILQ, and Grower Summary records.

We often don’t get notified or advised when there is an INV error with a message at Zespri.
Also if you are unsure of the advice given by Zespri to fix the error, check with us first.
Please give us a call if you think the software should have prevented the error.
