PASTOR’S COLUMN
Dear parish family of Saint Clement, The Lord be with you! When you hear the words "Annual Pastoral Appeal" or the word APA what do you think of? To be honest with you, for many, many years, when I heard the words "Annual Pastoral Appeal" what came to my mind was, DIOCESAN TAX. Two years ago I was confronted by the chair of our Pastoral Council during one of our mee ngs, that changed my mind. I was complaining about the diocesan tax. She politely interrupted me and said "Father Mike, you've got it all wrong, it's not a tax, but a TITHE. We are thing our fair share, in SUPPORT of our DIOCESAN FAMILY." She was right, I was wrong! Now when I hear the words "Annual Pastoral Appeal" what comes to my mind, are the numerous ministries I support through my pledge. You and I not only belong to the Parish Family of Saint Clement but we also belong to a Diocesan Family. When you and I give to APA, we are suppor ng a wide variety of ministries. I was amazed to see how my pledge HELPS so many Ministries. Here is ONLY a par al lis ng of who we help by our APA pledge. • Adop on Services • Pregnancy Centers • Project Rachel • Catholic Mobile Medical Services • Disaster Relief • Faith based counseling • Migrant Ministries: Our parish outreach to Migrant farmers and their families, receives needed APA funding. Instead of seeing dollar amounts, when I hear of APA, I have begun to see faces of those I am helping: a women in an unplanned or crisis pregnancy who has a place to go for counseling and comfort , a homeless couple who have a temporary "tent" to live in un l they can get back on their feet, and I see Jackson our Pastoral year seminarian whose Seminary and Educa on are being supported by my pledge. I see faces today not dollar amounts. Do you remember what our Parish Stewardship program is called? I introduced it in November at all the masses: JESUS FIRST. You and I are invited to put Jesus First in our Time, Talent and Treasure. We share our treasure by giving 50% of our Tithe to our parish family, 40% to different chari es and 10% to APA. Last year many of us made commitments to the Diocesan Capital Campaing and for me my pledge came from the 40% that I give to chari es. Next week I invite you to bring your pledge envelope to Mass or you may mail it in. Remember we are not looking for an equal amount but equal effort from every member of our parish family. • Girls - Dresses, skirts or pants of any color are allowed. No strapless or spaghe strap dresses.

COLUMNA DEL PARROCO Querida Familia Parroquial de San Clemente; ¡El Señor esté con Vosotros! Cuando Ustedes oyen las palabras “Apelación Pastoral Anual” o la palabra APA, ¿qué piensan? Para ser honesto con Ustedes, por muchos, muchos años, cuando escuchaba estas palabras “Apelación Pastoral Anual” lo que se me venía a la mente era IMPUES-TOS DE LA DIOCESIS. Hace dos años, durante una de nuestras reuniones del Consejo Pastoral, el Presidente me hizo cambiar de forma de pensar. Yo estaba quejándome de los impuestos diocesa-nos: Ella de forma muy educada me interrumpió y me dijo “Padre Mike, está equivoca-do, esto no es un impuesto, sino un diezmo. Estamos dando nuestra parte, para APO-YAR a nuestra FAMILIA DIOCESANA.” ¡Ella tenía razón, yo estaba equivocado! Ahora cuando oigo estas palabras “Apelación Pastoral Anual” lo que me viene a la mente son los numerosos ministerios que yo apoyo con mi par cipación. Ustedes y yo, no solamente pertenecemos a la Familia Parroquial de San Clemente, sino también a la Familia Diocesana. Cuando Ustedes y yo par cipamos en APA, esta-mos apoyando a una amplia variedad de ministerios. Siempre me asombro al ver co-mo mi colaboración AYUDA a esta gran variedad de Ministerios. Esta es una lista par-cial de aquellos a los que ayudamos con nuestra par cipación.

En lugar de buscar por can dad de dinero, cuando oigo APA, empiezo a ver las caras de aquellos a los que estoy ayudando: una mujer embarazada con un embarazo sin planear o en crisis que ene un lugar donde ir para ser aconsejada y confortada, una pareja sin hogar a la que se le provee una “ enda” temporal para vivir hasta que vuel-van a poder tener su vivienda, y veo a Jackson, nuestro seminarista de este año pasto-ral cuyo Seminario y Educación está siendo apoyado por mi compromiso. Hoy veo ca-ras, no can dades de dólares. ¿Recuerda cómo se llama nuestro programa de Mayordomía? Lo introduje en Noviem-bre durante todas las Misas: PRIMERO JESUS. Ustedes y yo estámos invitados a poner a Jesús primero en nuestro Tiempo, Talento y Tesoro. Compar mos nuestro tesoro dando el 50% de nuestro diezmo a nuestra familia parroquial, 40% a diferentes carida-des y el 10% para APA. El año pasado muchos de nosotros hicieron compromisos para la Campaña Capital Diocesana y por mi parte, mi contribución vino del 40% que dono a otras caridades. La próxima semana, les invito a traer su sobre de compromiso a la Misa, también lo puede enviar por correo. Recuerden que no estamos buscando por una can dad igual, sino por un esfuerzo de cada miembro de la familia parroquial. “BUSQUEN PRIMERO EL REINO DE DIOS” Mt: 6:33 Maranatha Padre Mike, Líder Pastoral Pd. ¿Ya ha devuelto su hoja de compromiso para trabajar durante el fes val de la fre-sa? ¡Nunca es demasiado tarde!

RETIRO ANUAL HISPANO Febrero 14 y 15, 2015
en el Centro de Re ros Bethany Center (18150 Bethany Center Drive, Lutz, FL. )
El re ro es de 8:30am a 6:00 pm el día l4 y de 8:30am a 3:00 pm el día 15. El mismo será dirigido por el P. Fernando Torres Lanause, Sch. P. Director del Colegio Ponceño, Puerto Rico y Miembro del Equipo de Formación del SEPI. El programa incluye meditaciones, devociones y empo de oración personal. En la mañana del sábado habrá oportunidad de recibir el Sacramento de la Reconciliación y el re ro culminará con la celebración de la Eucaris a el do-mingo. Allí se ofrece un ambiente confidencial donde no se le juzga y donde, tanto hombres como muje-res, pueden expresarse y reconciliar aquellas emociones que han surgido después de un aborto y así comenzar el proceso de renovación y sanación. Comunión y Confirmación y firmar un documento.
• Padres y Padrinos deben estar asis endo a Misa Si no son de esta parroquia deben traer una carta de permiso
de su parroquia donde se les da permiso bau zar aquí.
**Personas casadas solo por lo civil o viviendo en unión libre NO CUALIFICAN para ser padrinos.

POR QUE DEBE MATRICULARSE COMO MIEMBRO DE LA PARROQUIA
En muchos países la noamericanos, casi todos son Católi-cos. Cuando llega el momento de Bau zar, usted solo va a la Iglesia de la parroquial local y el sacerdote realiza el sa-cramento. Al vivir cerca automá camente pertenece a la parroquia. Las cosas son diferentes en los Estados Unidos. La mayo-ría de las personas aquí son protestantes. Usted no perte-nece automá camente a una parroquia Católica cercana. Para pertenecer realmente a la parroquia, usted debe re-gistrarse. Esto significa llenar un formulario de una pagina con su información familiar. Esta información es confiden-cial— no se la damos a nadie mas, ni al gobierno. Una vez usted sea miembro registrado recibirá unos so-bres para que pueda dar seguimiento a su asistencia a Mi-sa. Porque es esto importante? Si usted desea bau zar a un niño, servir como padrino o madrina, casarse, la Iglesia requiere que muestre que es un Católico prac cante (esto es requerido para todas las Iglesias). También, si llega a necesitar una carta para emigración, la Iglesia solo le po-drá dar una carta si es miembro registrado. Al echar su sobre en la canasta de la ofrenda sabemos que esta par -cipando ac vamente en la vida parroquial. Además, a fi-nal de ano aquellas familias que pegan impuestos pueden recibir un detalle de sus donaciones a la Iglesia. Para registrarse puede venir a la oficina parroquial de lu-nes a Viernes.
