Fostering the Vedic Way

The tenets of the Vedic way are based on non- de-nominational principles prescribed in the Vedas – ancient texts originating in India. The essence of the Vedic principles applied to modern day life is ‘simple living and high thinking’. Simply Vedic is based on the eternal Vedic principles of compassion, generos-ity, ahimsa (non-violence), and oneness with na-ture. These principles translate into our programs to support the needy, strengthen families, and provide access to health, education, and wholesome food.

We are building a comprehensive social support system for vulnerable groups, strengthening families and their awareness of health care and education systems, and advocating for a stronger and self-reli-ant community by: better integration, reduced stress, more active life style, improved health and nutrition of frail, senior, refugees, and disabled citizens; engaging youth in productive activities, after-school programs, civic commitment, violence prevention, and educa-tion on topics such as stress management, leadership skills, obesity, healthy living etc.; fostering cultural diversity through art fairs, cultural events, music com-petition and festivals.

P r e p a r i n g f o r t h e F u t u r eSimply vedic provides science and math education for middle and high school levels. currently one-on- one tutoring is implemented with assistance from the pool of dedicated volunteers. The consensus is that classroom education has limitations in both reach and flexibility. Simply vedic is working on a technology- enabled innovative online education delivery system. This system will have the capability of impacting students with focus on STem (Science, Technology, engineering & math).

The focus of after-school programs are personal enrichment and improvement in class performance. Simply vedic volunteers undertake after-school pro-grams in the community with great success. Although currently on a limited scale, Simply vedic is working on plans to expand these services.

The annual festivals organized by Simply vedic pro-vide ample opportunity for participating in cultural activities and developing talents. We promote cultural activities by pairing aspiring youths with experienced mentors.
