Risk DisclosureThe Templar Fund is a privately operated hedge fund that trades perpetual Bitcoin futures derivatives on the Bitcoin Mercantile Exchange.
Templar Fund investors are subjected to the following risks:
(I) Aggregate Position Value Liquidation. It is possible for our trade position, defined as the aggregate sum of the total values of owned perpetual futures contracts across multiple hedged products, to become liquidated in the event of inadequate margin coverage of 20:1. This incidence will occur in the event that the underlying asset increases or decreases in value by a factor of 20 times. (II) Exchange Counter-party Risk. It is possible that the marketplace provided by BitMEX may become insolvent and/or inaccessible to us as a result of a total system shutdown or breakdown.
Templar Fund investors are not subjected to the following risks:
(I) Disrupted Asset Custody. We preserve all client deposits with a multi-signature cold storage wallet that is protected by SHA-256 hash encryption. (II) Market Illiquidity. The Templar Fund does not hold more than 51% of the total Bitcoin in existence. Therefore, we are fully able to liquidate our assets. (III) Liquidity Slippage. The Templar Fund does not hold more than 25% of the Bitcoin traded on BitMEX. We can achieve liquidity with slippage at or below 1.490%.

Who we areThe Templar Fund is a private market making trading desk that provides liquidity service to the Bitcoin Mercantile Exchange. To achieve this we operate a Wall Street grade trading array system.
Complete transparencyThe Templar Fund is operational and supervised 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Complete reports are released every 10 days. We publish proof of every single trade and provide a live trade stream so that observers can verify the accuracy of our reported results.
How we earn profitThe process of market making is simple and permits account holders to remain exposed to Bitcoin price variance. A market maker provides volume-based orders that are distributed on both sides of the exchange order book. Profit is achieved in three ways: (1) the payment of maker fees by users of the exchange, (2) the spread and (3) the profit delta of position value. Client funds are traded as a single liquidity block and are commingled with all Templar Fund assets during trade cycles. Clients are not responsible for the creation or maintenance of their own trading accounts, and therefore, are not subjected to KYC or FATCA reporting requirements. This also permits USA clients to participate.
