Mooseheart has provided over 12,000 children a second chance, with quality education and vocational training on a campus environment that stresses stability, compassion and understanding.

We offer a special world of comfort and peace of mind to senior members and their spouses at Moosehaven, a retirement community located in Orange Park, Florida. Residents enjoy activities, camaraderie, and a contentment that most agree, could not be found elsewhere.

The main objectives of the Women of the Moose are:

m Assist in the support and maintenance of the 1,000-acre community and school in Illinois called Mooseheart, for children and teens worldwide who, for whatever reason, lack a stable home.

m Assist in the support and maintenance of a 65-acre retirement community near Jacksonville, Florida called Moosehaven, where senior members and their spouses enjoy their golden years together in dignity, comfort and fun.

I am 21 years of age or older, profess a belief in a Supreme Being, and am not a member of a terrorist group or recognized subversive organization. I have never been a registered sex offender or convicted felon. I am of good moral character and have not been expelled, suspended or rejected for original membership by any lodge, chapter or Moose Legion of The Moose. I understand that the use of the social quarters of any lodge of The Moose shall be in conformity with the rules and regulations of the lodge. Finally, I certify that the information I have provided is true and that no omission or concealment of information has been made of any fact or circumstance. I understand and agree that my membership in The Moose is conditioned upon the approval of the Application Review Committee and a favorable vote of the membership.

If elected into membership, I promise to fulfill my two primary obligations of 1) increasing the strength of The Moose by proposing for membership qualified individuals of high personal character and 2) giving of my energy and substance in support of Mooseheart and Moosehaven. Additionally, I pledge myself in service to The Moose and promise to: endeavor to assist good standing members of The Moose in any matter threatening their families; bring my concerns to the leadership of The Moose before appealing to any civil authority, never oppose a qualified applicant for membership without just cause, and to at all times comply with the General Laws. If rejected for original membership, I understand I cannot reapply for membership in any lodge, chapter, or Moose Legion for six (6) months. I freely and without reservation accept and honor this obligation of membership.

m Conduct a myriad of local Community Service projects that result in a total value of more than $40 million annually.

m Work together to give a helping hand to members and their families in time of need.

Other programs that are proudly supported by the Women of the Moose include Scouting, drug awareness, crime prevention, adopt a highway, adopt a park, youth/adult sports leagues, scholarship programs, toys for children in need, feeding the hungry, and disaster relief efforts.

Members of the Women of the Moose also assist high school students to set up “KidsTalks,” which are presentations that are instrumental in persuading preschool and elementary age youngsters to make positive choices.

m Stepping stone for involved members to be considered for even Higher Degrees. Only Moose Legionnaires can be recommended for the Fellowship Degree of Honor. Only Fellows can then be considered to advance to the Pilgrim Degree of Merit.

Moose Legion dues help fund the following programs/ activities: Moosehaven’s Operations and Senior Medical Fund, Mooseheart’s Camp Ross, and the International Moose Legion operations. Additionally, each jurisdiction donates to our annual Moose Legion projects, including: Youth Awareness scholarships; an annual capital project; Mooseheart student trips; an annual President’s Project and other needs as they arise. Our dues truly make a difference in our philanthropic endeavors.
