H ere is to a new year and a new you. Taking the time to contemplate the
new year and what may come has been important to many people. Yet, this practice did not become commonplace in the American culture until the 20th century. Since then, people who make New Year’s resolutions are more likely to succeed than when they make resolutions at other times of the year.
T he best way to be successful at reaching goals by the end of the year
is to break down the larger concept into small, workable parts. It helps to be as specific as possible when outlining those smaller parts. This will help you manage and measure your progress and keep yourself from losing focus.
G randparents and other relatives who care for children often face
legal issues whether they are dealing with custody or guardianship, or getting medical care for a child. If you are raising a grandchild or a minor relative in Arizona, you will need formal custody to obtain benefits such as healthcare or to enroll the child in school.
D uet is partnering with the Children’s Law Center through Community Legal
Services to provide a free clinic to help you complete the proper paperwork. Space is limited; reservations are required.
