How to put a staff together
* Develop an interview process* Get people interested in wanting to coach* Try to bring in people you know * Do your homework prior to the interview
How to handle people on staff who applied for and did
not get the job * Make them feel important to the program* Get them involved in the planning process if they want.* Give them a position of power if possible * Take advantage of their expertise
Hire good teachers --The x an o's will come
* Select quality people first* Select persons you would want to coach your son or daughter* Not important what they know but how can they get it across to players* Select People that Love Working with Kids* Select People that are involved in School* Select People with great work ethic

Process in which to hire coaches

Make sure your expectations and theirs
are the same * Assign administrative duties * List all football duties* Assign tasks according to individual strengths* Make sure all understand what they are responsible for* Make sure you have similar philosophies* Samples from our playbook
Staff improvement
* Spend time with younger coaches* Watch the practices of all other coaches in the program* Read* Film exchange program.
Set up a mentoring system within the
program * Pair more experienced coaches with inexperienced or young ones* Assign and allow for time for them to meet* Check in with coaches being mentored to make sure the program is meeting their needs
Clinics
* Put on clinics for your staff* Promote going to outside clinics * Make if financially easy for coaches to attend* Hold conference clinics * Go to local colleges and universities* Involve feeder schools and youth programs
Program evaluation
* Create effective tools and procedures* Evaluate staff at end of every season * Create evaluation form for end of year conference* Create evaluation form of assistants* Create Head coach evaluation form* Encourage feedback from assistants on what can further help the program
