With the dawn of 21st Century, New horizons

have been emerging in the field of education.

Introduction of various innovative designs, ICT tools and

new teaching methodology have paved the way for

ravamping the whole scenario. The effloresence breathes

with immense possibilities.

Distance Education is one of the major emerging

areas in the realm of education. It has revolutioned the

system for dissemination of knowledge. The purpose of

distance education is to make education available to all those who are aspiring

for specialization or attainment of skills in various disciplines.

Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan (Deemed University under Ministry of

Human Resource Development, Govt. of India) is a premier institution in the

field of higher learning in Sanskrit. The University has been recognized by the

Distance Education Bureau (DEB) of India to run distance education

programme for various traditional and new courses. The Mukta Svadhyaya

Peeth (Institute of Distance Education) established for the purpose of running

this programme under Sansthan has taken initiatives in right direction to launch

various courses in distance education mode. I am confident that this will attract

large number of citizens and knowledge seekers from various strata of society

and will also help in re-organizing the traditional system of Sanskrit education.

Direct contact with the teacher has been sine qua none in gurukul

paddhati. In the distance mode, this contact is made possible through new

devices for communication. The very name given to the distance education

institute by the Sansthan i.e. Mukta Svadhyaya Peetham not only underlines the

policy of opening the gates of shastric Sanskrit education for all, it also brings

out the endeavours and initiatives to be taken for bridging the gaps and filling

Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan

Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan under Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India was established in 1970.

Considering Sansthan's contribution in the field of promotion and propagation of traditional Sanskrit

education, by various means, the Govt. of India accorded it the status of Deemed University w.e.f. 7th

May, 2002 vide Notification No. F.9-28/2000-U.3 dated 1-1-2009 & 30-6-2009 followed by U.G.C's

Notification No.F.6-31/2001(CP-I) dated 13th June, 2002. Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan has got accredited

1. Those who want to join the Acharya programme may select either Vyakarana Sastra orSahitya Sastra or Phalita Jyotisha Shastra for the specialization.

2. Those who passed B.A. or equivalent examination of any university with Sanskrit for 200 marks are allallowed to opt Sahitya only at Acharya level.

3. Those who passed Vedalankara or Vidyalankara are eligible to opt Sahitya only.

4. Those who have completed one Acharya in a particular Shastra and now want admission into anotherAcharya opting another Shastra also have to pass the concerned Acharya Entrance Test or have tocomplete1 yearAcharya Bridge programme successfully.

INSTRUCTIONAL SYSTEM AND STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICE

The following facilities/supports are provided to its distance learners.

(i) Self-Instructional Print Material.

(ii) Audio-Vidio C.Ds/D.V.Ds (wherever applicable)

(iii) Face to face Counselling cum contact classes at Svadhyaya Kendras by

Academic Counsellors.

(v) Library facility.

Our S.L.M. is prepared by teams of experts distinguished scholars keeping in view the

interest of the Sanskrit learner group. The S.L.M. is written in Sanskrit Medium in such a

manner that students can study it by themselves with a little assistence from

our counsellors in Counselling cum Contact classes at the Svadhyaya Kendras. These materials

will be provided to the students after the admission (in the first month & at the time of Contact

classes).

Regarding all the modern subjects (either optional/ compulsory) and modern

languages which are the part of the syllabus of & , M.S.P.

will provide S.L.Ms propared by IGNOU/N.O.S.

For some programmes, we provide Audio Visual (CD/DVDs) S.L.M. along with

printed self learning material.

Assignments constitute the continious evaluation. The 30% of the marks obtained

through the assignments will be counted in final results.

For S.L.M. of Modern subjects

(except languages) candidates have to opt either Hindi medium or English medium.

Condidates should mention it by writing in the application form infront of item No. 12.

(iv) Counselling-cum-Contact Programme :

Face to face contact between learners and Academic/Counsellors will be provided

by arranging Counselling-Cum contact Classes at respective

Counseling and Contact Programmes of two weeks Prak Shastri Bridge/

will be arranged at Svadhyaya Kendras at the end of 7th and 9th month. For Prak Shastri,

Samskritavagahani (Shastri Bridge), Shastri, Shastravagahani (Acharya Bridge) & Acharya

programmes, the Counseling-Cum-Contact Programme will be held at the end of year 2015

9th, 11th and year 2016 1st, 4th and 7th months for two/three weeks.

During the other contact classes Students need to attend atleast 50% of the

Contact programme.At the end of the Contact programme, there will be a test.

The students are advised to utilize the contact class facility in full to enhance their

understanding level, clarification of doubts etc. The students must produce their identity

cards to attend the Contact Programme. They must come fully prepared along with the

lessons already supplied to get their doubts cleared, if any.

Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan has very rich libraries in its twelve Campuses and at the

head quarter office. All the students of Mukta Svadhyaya Peetham can utilize these libraries

located at the H.Q./Campuses of Sansthan where the Svadhyaya kendras are situated.

All the other details of instructional system/support services are described in the

programme guide which will be provided alongwith S.L.M. after the admission.

Among these five

contact classes, the first contact class of 15 days will be devoted to the activities like

describing the style & nature of Self Learning Materials (S.L.M.), Counceling, issue of

identity cards, building up the ability to understand the S.L.M. written in Sanskrit

medium. Considering all the above mentioned matters and keeping their own interest

in mind all the candidates are advised to attend the first contact class (all the days)

without fail.

No Hostel/Boarding arrangements will be made by the Svadhyaya Kendras.

Candidates have to make their own arrangements.
