In questa guida sono raccolti i locali che aderiscono al progetto Reggio

Emilia Città dei Cento Linguaggi, un progetto dedicato all’accoglienza

delle famiglie e dei bambini.

Accogliere e far stare bene i bambini significa anche far stare bene

gli adulti e migliorare la qualità di vita di tutti.

This guide lists all of the restaurants and eating places participating in the

Reggio Emilia City of the Hundred Languages project, dedicated to

welcoming families and children.

In order for children to feel welcome, adults must also feel welcome.

When this happens, the quality of life is improved for everyone.

4 PREMESSA CULTURALE / CULTURAL PREMISE

Cento linguaggi è la ricchezza infinita delle potenzialità dei bambini, della loro capacità di stupirsi e di ricercare.

Cento linguaggi è la pluralità degli sguardi e dei punti di vista.

L’eccellenza educativa, riconosciuta a livello internazionale, esce dai nidi e dalle scuole dell’infanzia di Reggio Emilia e si propone alla città con alcune delle loro caratteristiche peculiari: attitudine alla ricerca, qualità dell’accoglienza, cura degli ambienti e delle relazioni.

Il progetto Reggio Emilia Città dei Cento Linguaggi nasce dalla convinzione che far stare bene i bambini in città significa far stare bene tutti. Infatti crediamo che un luogo accogliente per un bambino sia un luogo accogliente per le persone.

Un progetto che si rende visibile attraverso un logo che comunica la condivisione di valori comuni.

Piccoli e grandi segni crescono e cresceranno in città, insieme a questa guida.

The hundred languages are the endless number of children’s potentials, their ability to wonder and to inquire.

The hundred languages remind us that there are multiple ways of seeing and multiple ways of being.

The internationally acclaimed educational excellence of the preschools and infant-toddler centres of Reggio Emilia now shares with the city some of its distinctive features: an aptitude for inquiry, a warmth of welcome, care for spaces and the relationships that form within them.

The Reggio Emilia City of Hundred Languages project was designed to uphold everyone’s right to well-being. In order for children to feel well in the city, everybody also has to feel well. We believe that a homely place for a child is a homely place for all people.

A project that is made visible through a logo which expresses the sharing of common values.

Big and small traces are growing and will continue to grow in the city, together with this guide.

Punto di partenza e di sperimentazione del progetto è il centro storico con i suoi ristoranti, pizzerie, caffetterie, pasticcerie e gelaterie con l’auspicio di accrescere la curiosità e la motivazione anche in altri ambiti e luoghi.

The point of departure and experimentation for this project is the historical city centre with its many restaurants, pizzerias, cafès, pastry and ice cream shops. We hope that the project stimulates curiosity and the motivation to explore yet other places and spaces around the city.

Il progetto nasce dalla volontà e dalla collaborazione tra il Comune di Reggio Emilia, Reggio Children, l’Associazione Internazionale Amici di Reggio Children, l’Istituzione Scuole e Nidi d’infanzia, le Associazioni del commercio e dell’artigianato di servizio e gli operatori del settore.

The project grew out of the good will and collaboration among the Municipality of Reggio Emilia, Reggio Children, the Friends of Reggio Children International Association, the Municipal Preschools and Infant-toddler Centres, local handicraft and trade Associations and business operators.

In queste pagine sono elencati i requisiti individuati come elementi di qualità del progetto.Nella fase di avvio è stato posto in primo piano il tema dell’accoglienza a tavola, supportato da un’attenzione al comfort ambientale e ai servizi legati allo stare bene a tavola, bambini e adulti. Naturalmente elemento imprescindibile resta la qualità dell’alimentazione.

These pages list those requirements singled out as aspects of quality for the project. In the initial phase of development the theme of providing a quality reception at the table was foregrounded, as supported by the necessary attention given to environmental comfort and to those services related to children’s and adults’ well-being at the table. Of course, one important aspect which cannot be ignored is the quality of the food itself.
