THE CLOROFILAS is a creative laboratory that has recently relocated to Manchester that experiments with plants and vegetation as creative material. I explore the aesthetic potential residing in plants as a primary source for experi-mentation using the plant as a basis in order to rethink and renegotiate public and domestic spaces, my modus oper-andi being appropriation and investigation. Food Garden in Pots Workshop

The mission of this workshop is to learn the basics for growing your own food in small spaces and uncon-ventional containers.

If you have a garden, terrace, roof, or just a window, there is a lots of ideas you can put into practice for growing your own food.

This workshop is aimed at all interested in learning to design and build a garden of vegetables and herbs with minimal elements, building space and the resources you have at home, a proposal practice with a crea-tive flair.

Content1. Introduction to the History of Urban Horticulture: A brief introduction on the history of urban horti-culture to the present day, were shown images of innovative and important projects the area. 2. Plant physiology and cycles: Study the growing seasons, harvest, cyclical rotation. Using examples of germination, seeds and planting. 3. Garden planning: A study of the space and the elements, which are needed to plan and implement the garden, light, soil and adequate space. Cultivation in containers, we will review different cultivation techniques. Manual irrigation systems or drip hydro pots Land preparation, direct seeding and transplanting of stock. 4. Maintenance: we will give some tips and techniques for maintaining the garden. Pruning / fertilizer irrigation / and plants diseases.
