Functions / Advantages
ZUWA Impeller Pumps are used in almost all sectors (agriculture, horticulture, industry, food, marine, engineering, water treatment / wastewater, etc.) and are often found as an integral part of plant and machinery. They are dry self-priming,easytomaintainandinexpensive.Theyareinsensitivetosolidsinthemediumduetotheflexibleimpeller and can even promote high-viscosity liquids.
Principles of operationFlexibleimpellerpumpsaredisplacementpumps.Therotorwithflexiblevanesismountedconcentricallyinacircu-larhousingwhichhasaflattenedareaatoneside.Thisprovidestheeccentricpathfortheimpeller,therebysquee-zingtheflexiblebladesonthisside.
1. Suction:The impeller rotation and the straightening of the vanes upon lea-ving the cam creates a vacuum on the suction side drawing the fluidinto the pump chamber.
2. Transfer:The rotating impeller transfers the liquid from the inlet to the outlet port of the pump.
3. Press:On the pressure side the impeller vanesarecompressedandthefluid is discharged constantly from the pump.
► Dry self primingWhat makes impeller pumps outstanding – they do not needtobefilledpriortooperation.Impellerpumpsaredryselfprimingfromadepthofthreemeters.Pre-fillingis required for a suction depth of three metres and more. The suction depth is max. 7 metres.
► High capacityDepending on type and model our pumps are capa-ble of transferring from between 3 litres up to 730 litres per minute. Tanks will be drained down to the last drop.
► VersatileUsefulformanydifferentfluidsandapplications.Mate-rials of impellers, seals and pump housings can be se-lected according to the individual needs and applications required. ZUWA Impeller Pumps are available with AC and DC motors with various revolutions per minute.
► GentleFluids are transferred absolutely free of pulsation. Smaller amountsofairorothergaseousfluidscanbehandled
on the suction side.
► Reliable All pumps are tested for continuous operation in our workshop. Top quality materials guarantee for a long durability.
► Easy maintainingFor cleaning and maintenance work the pumps are quickly and easily disassembled. Replacement parts can be ordered individually. Low operation costs!
► SturdyImpellerpumpswillreadilypumpfluidswithawideran-ge of viscosity, even highly viscous liquids such as oil or honey (up to 20 000 mPAS) as well as liquids containing solids.The approved media temperature is max. 90°C. A short dry-run of up to one minute can be tolerated.

Filling station for wind power plants Impeller Pump 2000-A
For priming the cooling system of wind power plants (wind turbines), Senvion SE decided to use a Impeller Pump UNISTAR 2000-A manufactured by ZUWA.
For service and maintenance tasks on the cooling circuit Senvion searched for a portable, handy, and reliable so-lution. Their special requirement was getting a small and lightweight pump for convenient use in the narrow spaces of the wind turbines. With the motor-driven, easy to handle ZUWA-Priming-Station, Senvion is able to abstain from the hand-operated pumps used in the past.

TheUNISTARImpellerPumpinasprayerforirrigationofparks,trafficislands,cemeteries,etc.
This sprayer was designed for landscapers, cemetries and municipal faci-lities. In conjunction with a pump control, the pump starts automatically or switches off when the nozzle is opened or closed. The battery drive makes the sprayer independent from the power grid.

Thepumpprovidesaflowrateof7litersperminute,drivenataspeedof140rpm.atthewinch. At a suction height of 5 meters the pump works perfectly well - even without a foot valve.

Old oil tanks must be drained. The difference in height of the basement tank to the pump is not a problem for the dry self priming pump. Sediments from the bottom of the tank are removed as well.
