Amanda’s Notes

December

Christmas time is here…. I’m sure you guys have heard enough Christmas carols by now, so I won’t bore you with the rest! I really hope that all things are going well in each of your clubs. Dues should be in by this time, so you can now relax about that! During the holidays, there are so many opportunities to volunteer. As I said in my last newsletter, contact local charities, food banks, homeless shelters and schools to see what you can do this holiday season. There are countless opportunities; find one that you are passionate about and pursue it!

*IMPORTANT*On January 13, 2013, Division 68 will be holding elections for their new 2013-2014 Lieutenant Governor! I really encourage every club to attend this event. We will be listening to candidate’s speeches and also taking part in a simple service project. I really hope you can all add this day into your schedule so we get a high attendance! On that note, I also really would like to encourage anyone that is interested in running for LTG (my current position) to contact me as soon as possible! Maybe you yourself aren’t interested, but you know of someone in your club that would do a great job. That is totally fine and I would love to talk to them!

Love You Guys!

Ever feel like life is just running you down? District

Governor Giovanni has given the District Board a ‘song of the week’. An inspirational song to get people through

anything that might be a little tough.

I am totally there for you guys whenever you need me. So feel free to email/call/text me whenever! My job as LTG is to be there for my clubs; so

don’t be shy!

DUES!

As I’m sure you all know, the deadline for

dues has already passed! I am hoping

each of your clubs has done what needed to be done, but please contact me if you have had any

problems. Not turning in dues by December 1

would have caused your club to be suspended.

D-CONMarch 21-24, 2013Advisors have been emailed all cost and

registration info.

Pre-CON Pre-CON, short for Pre-Convention, is a time for Key Clubbers to get together,

have fun, learn about our District Project, and get ready for D-CON.

Originally, Pre-Con was planned for December 16, but the new date and

details has finally been released!

This year, Pre-Con will be on January 19, 2012 at the

Portland Rose Garden.

Since Pre-CON is in Portland I am really hoping and expecting that all our clubs are

present for this event. We need to take advantage of the opportunity to have the

Key Club District down in Portland!

There are a limited number of tickets available so register as

soon as possible! See attached packet for more

details.

As cliché as it may seem, time sure does fly! And it has gone by especially fast during my term as LTG. It is coming time once again to start looking for who will be Division 68’s new LTG. Have you ever been interested in serving Key Club outside of the club level?

Being on the District Board is an extremely rewarding experience. You make friends from all over the Pacific Northwest, and make memories that will last a lifetime. Of course,

there is a level of commitment. Keep that in mind when you are contemplating running. Think you’re interested? Contact me! Asking questions doesn’t mean you have

committed to running. Division 68 and its clubs hold a special place in my heart and I want the next LTG to have a new passion for strengthening our Division!

Elections will be held on January 13, 2012 in Molalla, Oregon. I look forward to talking to any

prospective applicants!

As of the District Board’s Fall Board Meeting, Division 68 has gone through some changes, and I can now share them

with you all!

Due to ties with Kiwanians and other specific issues, we have added and removed some clubs in Division 68. Below

is a list of the new Division 68. Get ready for a new exciting group of clubs!

Please note that the Division changes will not be official until after this year’s D-CON.

WHAT IF YOU COULD FUND A CHILD’S

Jamaica is known for its blue Caribbean beaches, its rich blue mountain coffee, Bob Marley, the fastest man in the world - Usain Bolt - and its food, but people often fail to recognize the hardships and troubles the people face in this paradise.

The 2012-2013 PNW District Project is Project Educate – our goal is to raise $30000 to send to three schools in Jamaica to provide library equipment, student assistance, and classroom materials to

This project can be supported by raising awareness, fundraising money, and purchasing a t-shirt and wristband from Pacific

Northwest Lieutenant Governors. As motivation, there will be club competitions in the form of DCON awards; there will be

awards for the platinum, gold, silver, and bronze levels.
