We Connect
The story of how our first parents sinned teaches us not only of the power of sin and evil, but also the much stronger love and
mercy of God. Even if we sin against Him, He continues to show His love for us. He sent Jesus to save us. Until now, God continues
to love and forgive us.
GOD CONTINUES TO SHOW HIS LOVE and MERCY FOR US
through Jesus, who died for us.
through the Church, a loving and forgiving
community
through the Sacrament of Reconciliation, the
sacrament where we receive God’s
forgiveness and mercy
through the people around us, who are signs of God’s love
and mercy to us
!
WE FOCUS ON: !THE SACRAMENT OF
RECONCILIATION

C H U R C H
The Sacrament of Reconciliation unites us with the Church. When we sin, we lost the trust of the people around us. This sacrament helps us to be united once again with the Church.

WHY CONFESS TO A PRIEST ?
priest represents Christ and the Church
!
priest listens - Christ listens
!
Jesus forgives us, not the priest
!
priest represents the Church, whom we have
hurt and hope to be united once again
! We are called to ask for forgiveness and to share
the gift of forgiveness.
!
WE RESPOND
!My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my
heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend,
with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Our
Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us, my God, have mercy. Amen.
