General FireFree
® ScandiBoards can
be machined with ordinary
tools for woodworking. It is
not necessary to take any
special measures.
Safety
FireFree® ScandiBoard does
not contain inorganic fibers
or quartz. By machining the
machines should be connect-
ed to the dust extraction
equipment to reduce the
amount of dust.
Tools
FireFree® ScandiBoards can
be cut with a circular saw or
jigsaw. Edges can be sanded
or rasped and the plates are
assembled with screws, sta-
ples or shot nails. See the
Table.
Surface Requirements
If the FireFree® Scandi-
Boards must be visible, it is
possible to mount side rails
according to the steel suppli-
er's instructions. See also our
suggestions for surface
treatment.
Transport / storage
FireFree® ScandiBoards will
be delivered on pallets. Place
the pallets on a smooth and
dry spot and protect them
against the weather.
Be careful when transporting
individual sheets, to avoid
damaging the edges. Do not
put plates vertical on the
edges, as it may damage the
corners.
Cutting
FireFree® ScandiBoards are to
be cut with an excess of 1-2
mm. For the beams are to be
made plugs for mounting be-
tween flanges. Plugs are also
carried out with an excess of
1-2 mm.
Fixing
FireFree® ScandiBoards can
be assembled with screws,
staples or shot nails according
to the Table.
It is not necessary to apply
glue under the assumption that
all connections are tight. If
not, you must apply Nullifire
B722 fire mastic in the joints
(maximum width 4 mm) be-
fore the plates are mounted, so
the joint is tight.
