PROLOGUE

(Ozians spread around stage. Music. Coreography. Ozians form a circle. Wizard is in the back of the stage, wearing his mask, in a high place. Light focus on him.)

Wizard: Fellow Ozians! I come to you, with all my power to inform you all that THE WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST IS DEAD!(Ozians flabbergasted)Ozians: SHE IS DEAD! GOOD NEWS! THE WICKED WITCH IS DEAD!(Ozians leave the circle and start walking around the stage gossiping in whispers)Ozian 1: The enemy of all of us here in Oz.Ozian 2: I heard she was green.Ozian 3: I heard she melted with water.Ozian 4: I heard she was evil.Ozians: EVIL! WICKED! EVIL!Ozian 5: Of course she was evil. She was bad.Ozians: BAD! WICKED! BAD!Ozian 6: Yes, I heard she was evilly wickedly bad!Ozians: BUT SHE IS DEAD NOW! GOOD NEWS! SHE IS DEAD!Wizard: Yes, Ozians. She is deadly dead. And now you can all be unafraid of that… Wicked!(Ozians do not react. Glinda enters from the yellowbrick road - right stairs)Boq: Look! It’s Glinda!Glinda: It’s good to see me, isn’t it?!(Ozians go crazy. As soon as Glinda starts walking, Ozians “dance” in order to make a clue and salute her bowing when she passes. Glinda goes toward the Wizard, who “kisses” her hand - without removing the mask. Glinda goes to the center of the stage)Glinda: My lovely Ozians. It seems you have already heard the news.Ozian 7: Yes, Glinda! The Witch of the West is dead!Glinda: That is true. Now all of us can live in peace.Globe: Glinda, I heard you were friends.(Ozians “ooh”)Ozian 1: Quiet! Glinda, the Good, could never befriends with such a monster.Globe: Everybody heard, nobody knows!Glinda: Well, I can say I knew her.(Ozians “ooh” again)Glinda: That’s a long story.Globe: If she was so evil, bad and Wicked, how could you be her friend?Glinda: Well,/ I...Wizard: HEY YOU! (he ‘throws’ Globe down to the ground and bring Ozians together again.) How dare you talk to Glinda that way?(EVERYBODY FREEZES. Fiyero enters from the left stairs. Globe gets up and walks up to the Wizard).Globe: I do not rely on you anymore, Wizard! I am free to think and I want to know the truth! I need it. I deserve it.

Fiyero: Hey! You! Free-Ozian!(Globe looks)Fiyero: You wanna know the real and untold story? Come with me and I will show you.(Globe walks toward him)Fiyero: Well done! You are no longer a mere Ozian! What is your name?(Everybody exits from the stage and start putting Shiz scenario together.)Globe: I am Globe. Thank you for rescuing me. (relieved) I thought they were gonna swallow me.Fiyero: That’s exactly what they do with everyone who dares to think. Fortunately I was around.(Globe looks back to the stage. It is now changed to Shiz, where students are walking around, giving their back to the audience)Globe: Wait! Where are they?Fiyero: Well, I am going to show you how it all started. How just “being different” can change someone’s life forever.Globe: You’re talking about the Wicked Witch?Fiyero: Let’s forget that “name”, okay? Let’s call her by her real name: Elphaba.Globe: Elphaba?Fiyero: Right. And I must tell you that this story is different from all the others you’ve heard before. Be prepared!Globe: I am!(They go downstairs and stay at the left corner, looking at the center of the stage)

SCENE I - How It All Began

(Shiz courtyard scenario. Students enter from all directions, except for Glinda, Elphaba and Nessarose, who follow, in that order.)

Globe: (ozian-like) Look! It’s Glinda! *Fiyero: Very well noticed, Globe. Right next to her, there are other students, like Pfanee and Boq.(Morrible enters, in a hurry)Morrible: (to Nessa) Oh, there you are. Students of Shiz: I want you all to know your new mates. Please welcome the governor’s daughters: Nessarose and Elphaba.(People start rumouring)Glinda (to Pfanee - mocking): She is green!Morrible: I would like you to respect them and make them feel part of our University, / Shiz is not the best university in all of Oz for a mere coincidence, no. Here, we treat each other like a family… Understood?(As Fiyero speaks, Morrible continues talking on mute)Fiyero: Well, you are probably gonna be bored by listening to her. This is Madam Morrible, principal of Shiz. Weird, I know. But she has been managing Shiz for more than you could imagine.Glinda (to Pfanee): Of course we are ALL gonna befriends with them. (to Morrible) Madam Morrible, I’d like to know if I am going to be part of your Sorcery classes. I mean, I only came to Shiz because of them.Morrible: I am afraid not, Miss Glinda. My Sorcery classes are private and only for special students.Glinda: So...Morrible: So I have NOT found anyone yet. And that is all. Now, let’s talk about the shared rooms.Glinda: Well, my parents have booked me a single room. So I will not have to share with

a-ny-one.Elphaba: I am going to share with my sister.Morrible: You’ll both stay where you are told to.Elphaba and Glinda: But I ...Morrible: Elphaba stays with Glinda. Nessarose stays with Pfanee.Elphaba: That is unacceptable, Madam Morrible! I will NOT share my room with anyone but my sister!Glinda: Yes! And I will NOT share with… her !Morrible (taking Nessarose’s wheelchair out of Elphaba’s hand): I said you’ll stay where I SAY!Elphaba (down on her knees): No! Nessa!(At this time, Elphie stretches her arms and open her hands. Morrible is thrown back by an invisible power.)Morrible: WHAT WAS THAT?Elphaba: I… Nessarose: ELPHABA!! I can’t believe you did that again!Morrible (astonished): You mean this has already happened before?Elphaba: Well, it comes over me sometimes. But it’s not important /anyway. I…Morrible (glad): Elphaba, I’m afraid I’ll have to report this incident to the Wizard.Elphaba and Nessarose: THE WIZARD?!Morrible: Yes. It would be too much risk keeping you here with these powers without noticing him.Elphaba: But I didn’t mean to harm anyone, it’s just a natural reaction. Am I going to be punished for something I was born with?Morrible: I can’t tell you anything else. I’ll talk to you tomorrow morning. (She means to leave but turns right back around) And your sister IS going to share the room with Pfanee!(Morrible takes Nessa’s wheelchair and they exit.)(Exitum)

SCENE II - Loathing

(Scenario changes into Elphaba and Glinda’s bedroom while Globe and Fyero are talking.)

Globe: So they were not friends?Fiyero: Oh, well... Let me show you how Glinda and Elphaba first met.(Glinda and Elphaba enter with bags and props inside)(They look at each other, but don’t say anything. They take paper and feathers, synced, and start writing letters to their parents.)

Glinda: Dearest, Darlingest Momsy and Popsicle...Elphaba: My dear father...BOTH: There's been some confusion Over rooming here at Shiz.Elphaba: But of course I’ll care for Nessa…Glinda: But of course I’ll rise above it…BOTH: For I know that’s how you’d want me to respond Yes. There’s been some confusion For you see, my roomate is…Glinda: Unusually and exceedingly peculiar And altogether quite impossible to describe...Elphaba: Blonde!

Glinda: What is this feeling? So sudden and new?Elphaba: I felt it the moment I laid eyes on you.Glinda: My pulse is rushing…Elphaba: My head is reeling…Glinda: My face is flushingBOTH: What is this feeling? Fervid as flame Does it have a name? Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees! Loathing. Unadulterated loathing.Glinda: For your face...Elphaba: Your voice…Glinda: Your clothing!BOTH: Let’s just say… I loathe it all. Every little trait, however small Makes my very flesh begin to crawl With simple utter loathing There's a strange exhilaration In such total detestation It's so pure and so strong! Though I do admit it came on fast Still I do believe that it can last And I will be loathing Loathing youGlinda: My whole life long!Elphaba: Boo!Glinda: Aahh!

(Blackout.)(They exit with scenario.)

SCENE III - How They Met Fiyero

(Scenario changes to Shiz’s classroom. Students are around Glinda on one side. Nessa and Elphaba are talking on the other side)

Globe: Now I understand! They actually hated each other.Fiyero: Well, hum... (gasps) Come look! (points to the stage) This was life in Shiz. Until a gorgeous, wonderful, smart and beautiful guy shows up.Globe: A boy?Fiyero: Not just a boy. A prince. The smartest person who had ever stepped on Shiz.(Avanic enters. Everyone freezes.)Globe: And who could that be?Fiyero: He’s right there, arriving with his servant.Globe: You mean that weird person in red?Fiyero: No. That is his servant, Avanic.Globe: I can only see him.Fiyero: I’ll make it easier to you.(Fiyero goes to the stage. He gets next to Avanic)Fiyero: Can you see the marvelous man now?Globe: Actually... I see just… you.

(Fiyero does an “obvious” face)Globe: Oh! You are the guy?!Fiyero (nods ‘yes’): I am Fiyero Tiggular, the Winkie Prince. I went to Shiz University because there was no other school that would accept me throughout Oz. Globe: I see... And why would that be?Fiyero: Well, you’ll see… But now I’m gonna be part of the story, ok?Globe: Right.

(People unfreeze. Glinda sees Fiyero, who is arriving with Avanic).Glinda: Oh my beauty! Isn’t that Fiyero Tiggular?Boq: The weird one who messes up with anything he gets close to and that no professor likes? I believe that’s him, yes.Pfanee: Well, he is very handsome.Glinda: He is...Boq: Awkward.Pfanee: Handsoooooome.Glinda: Perfect! For me, of course.(Morrible enters)Morrible (to Fiyero): Oh, it seems you have finally decided to come to Shiz, Mr. Fiyero. I am glad you are here, but I must notice you that at Shiz things are a bit different than the other places you’ve studied.(to students) Students, please welcome Fiyero Tiggular. I believe I won’t have to repeat that here, at Shiz, we are a great family / that...(People freeze)Fiyero: (to Globe) Oh. There she goes again... Can we just fast-forward this part?Globe: It’s okay for me. (Morrible “fast-forwards” her speech. People fast-forward and unfreeze.)Morrible: I hope you all understood. Questions? (to Fiyero and Avanic) Now, Mr. Fiyero and Mr. Avanic, you two can put your luggage in your bedroom. Be as fast as you can. You are already late. Students, to your sits now. Your professor is coming.(She moves towards Elphaba)Glinda: (whispering to Pfanee) Well, NOW we have interesting people around.Morrible: (to Elphaba) Miss Elphaba!Elphaba: Yes, Madam?Morrible: I have informed the Wizard about your powers. He is very happy to know that we have someone with such ability at Shiz. For that reason, I am going to teach you my private Sorcery Classes. Here is your wand.(Morrible hands Elphaba her wand)(Elphaba is glad. Glinda overhears the conversation and is shocked).Glinda: Madam Morrible! You said you would only give those classes to SPECIAL students. In that case, I would really like to know in WHICH WORLD this girl could be more special than ME.Morrible (smiles): There are a lot of things in THIS WORLD that would make you really surprised, Miss Glinda. Anyway, Elphaba is going to be my ONLY student. (She exits)Glinda: But, Madam... I... (to Boq): I can’t believe it, Boq! I came to Shiz only for those classes. My parents are going to kill me if they find out I won’t have them.Boq: Don’t worry, Glinda. Everything will be just fine.Glinda: I have to do something!(Fiyero walks back with Avanic)Fiyero: Well, so this is Shiz, right?! Avanic, my dear friend, let us make some new friends. (He gets close to Elphaba) Dear God! Why haven’t anybody told me it was Shiz Halloween?! (People laugh) I am Fiyero Tiggular, the Winkie Prince. Can I know your name, Your Greeness?Elphaba: My name is Elphaba. And before you mention it, no, I did not eat grass as a

child. I am green because I was born like this. But you better mind your own business! You should know you are in big trouble for getting late here!Fiyero: Oh, really? And what are they going to do? Paint me, too?(Glinda laughs histerically. Fiyero goes to her.)Avanic: I keep wondering… Do you feel seasick all the time? (He realizes Fiyero is not there anymore and follows him.)Fiyero (to Glinda): Hello, darling. I am Fiyero Tiggular, the Winkie Prince. Could I have the pleasure of knowing your name?Glinda: (fake-shy) I am Glinda.Fiyero: It is a pleasure to meet you, Glinda.Glinda: Thank you. I know. Wouldn’t it be an even greater pleasure to take me to the ball we’re having tomorrow night?Fiyero: Oh, absolutely. Would you like to go with me?Glinda: Oh, absolutely. Pick me up at nine.Boq: But, Glinda… (Glinda starts thinking about an excuse and sees Nessa, who’s having her shoelaces tied by Elphaba) I though you were going with / me...Glinda: Oh, poor Nessarose! She will probably not get any invitations for the ball. Only a true wonderful gentleman could do it.Boq: Do you think so, Glinda? (Glinda nods ‘yes’)Boq: Well… I could invite her.Glinda: You would? Oh, Boq, you are so good-hearted. That’s why I like you.(Boq looks smug.)(Dr. Dillamond enters)Avanic (to Pfanee): Would you like to go with me?Pfanee: Yes... Why not?Dillamond: Alright students, settle down. For the newcomers, I am Professor Dillamond and now it’s time to talk about Oz’s history.Glinda: Wait, Dr. Dillamond... Are you saying that Oz wasn’t the way it is now?Dillamond: Of course not. There was a time when in this very university there were many other animal-professors like me. Now it’s just me and the humans.Fiyero: At least now the others don’t “bah” every time.(All students but Elphaba laugh)Dillamond: In fact, Mr. Fiyero, (Fiyero looks surprised) - Yes, I do know you - how much do the humans really know? I am sure that you can’t find anybody in all Oz who knows more about history than me myself.(Pause)Dillamond: Anyway, let’s start our class.(Dillamond turns the flipchart’s page and it’s written “ANIMALS SHOULD BE SEEN, NOT HEARD”. Students laugh, quietly)Dillamond (offended, angry): Who wrote it?! Who is responsible for that?!(No answer)Dillamond: That is enough for today. You’re dismissed!(Everybody but Elphaba and Dillamond exits)Elphaba: Dr. Dillamond, don’t let those insults put you down. I know you are a great professsor.Dillamond: Oh, thank you. And what is your name?Elphaba: Elphaba.Dillamond: Elphaba. How I wish you could have seen the other animals. I am the only one that survived. All the others were sent to...Elphaba: Where?Dillamond: Never mind. What you only have to know is that there are many strange things happening in Oz. And maybe someday you can do / something to help.(Morrible enters)

Morrible: Elphaba, your class was dismissed, I presume. So you shouldn’t still be here.Elphaba: I’m sorry, Madam. We’ll talk later, Dr. Dillamond.(She almost exits, but overhears the conversation)Morrible: It seems we ALSO have to talk, Dr. Dillamond.

(Blackout. Exitum.)

Scene IV - How They Got Friends

(Scenario changes into Elphaba and Glinda’s bedroom. They are there already. Glinda is getting ready for the ball and Elphaba is studying)

Glinda (to Elphaba): Humm... Hey.(no answer)Glinda: Elphaba.Elphaba: What?Glinda: Well... I was just wondering if you are going to the ball.Elphaba: No. I hate balls, I hate parties.Glinda: Oh, but why? Balls are great opportunities to meet the person you will marry someday.Elphaba: I can’t say I’m a “marriable” person.Glinda: Everyone is. I think you should go. (pause) Your sister is going...Elphaba: WHAT? Nessa is going to the ball? (Glinda nods) Without even telling me?Glinda: Look Elphaba, it’s time for you to have your own life and let Nessarose have hers.Elphaba: But she is too fragile.Glinda: And what if you didn’t exist?! How would that be? She would have to live, wouldn’t she?Elphaba: Yes.Glinda: So... Let her. (taking Elphaba’s book from her hands) And I also think you study too hard.Elphaba: Well, I must admit I haven’t been doing anything else, really. I’ve come to know that Sorcery is a very hard career!Glinda (getting closer to her, almost whispering): Don’t tell anyone, but I envy you for having Sorcery classes. I only came to Shiz because of those classes. But it seems you deserve them more than me.Elphaba: Well, I envy a lot of things on you. Yet, I didn’t know there was a thing I had you wanted.Glinda: There’s always one, right?! (pause) But anyway, are you going to the ball? It would be nice to see you there…Elphaba: Well, I think I could use a break from my studies. (quick pause) I’ll go.Glinda: Oh, great! In that case, I have a gift for you!(Elphaba is surprised/curious. Glinda hands her the hat.)Glinda: Ta-daaaaan! I think it suits you... You both look so... (Glinda stares weirdly to the hat for a moment) Smart! And black is the new pink, you know?! Elphaba: Well, in that case, thank you.Glinda: No need to thank. I’ll see you there!(Glinda starts leaving but gives a second malicious look and smile before exiting. Nessa enters.)Nessarose: Elphaba! You will not believe it.Elphaba: I know. You’re going to that ball.Nessarose: How did you… (gets angry) Don’t you dare try to stop me!Elphaba: I won’t.

Nessarose: Are you serious? Oh, wow! Well, I… I don’t know what happened, but thank you! Boq is a great boy. And thanks to Glinda he invited me.Elphaba: Glinda?Nessarose: Yes. She told him to have the courage to ask me. She’s so good.Elphaba: Are you happy, Nessa?Nessarose: Absolutely, completely!Elphaba: Then so am I!(They exit)

SCENE V - How They Got Popular

(Scenario changes to Shiz’s cortyard. Couples enter: Glinda with Fiyero, Avanic with Pfanee, Boq with Nessarose and other couples - if possible)(They start to dance, except for Boq and Nessa, who are a little uncomfortable. She looks anxious; he stares at Glinda and Nessa alternatedly.(Pfanee bumps into Glinda and they talk while dancing.)

Pfanee: So, did you convince Miss Greeny to come to the ball?Glinda: Oh, yes! And remember that hideos black hat that my granny just gave me before coming back to Shiz?Pfanee (noding yes, excited): That you said you’d give away but you didn’t hate anyone that much?(Pfanee gives a little histerycal scream and Glinda winks to her and laughs. They go back to their partners dance.)Boq: (to Nessa) Nessa, I need to tell you something.Nessarose: I know, Boq. You only invited me because I’m in this chair and you knew nobody would do it. You felt sorry.Boq: That’s not true. I did it because... (he realizes Glinda is not for him) uh... because you are beautiful.Nessarose: Oh, Boq. You are so wonderful. We deserve each other, don’t we?Boq: Let’s dance?Nessarose: What?Boq: Let’s dance!(They start dancing)(Morrible enters)Morrible: Miss Glinda!Glinda: Madam Morrible?! What happened?Morrible: I came here only to bring your wand. You are now part of the Sorcery class.Glinda: Haaaaaan, really? Oh, Madam! How can I express my gratitude?Morrible: Do not thank me. This was your roomate’s idea, not mine.Glinda: Elphaba?Morrible: She requested that I included you in Sorcery class and insisted I would tell you this very night or she would quit the seminar. And I cannot lose a talent like hers. So, I believe I’ll see you tomorrow. Hope you surprise me good - although I doubt you will.(Morrible laughs and exits.)(Elphaba enters wearing the hat. Pfanee, laughing, pokes Glinda, who looks sympathetic towards Elphaba. Elphaba observes people for a moment and starts dancing by herself weirdly. People laugh.)(Fiyero gets closer to Glinda)Fiyero: That girl needs help. If she keeps scaring people every time she shows up, we are all gonna die from heart attack.Glinda: You are right. She needs help.

(Glinda goes by Elphaba’s side and all students expect Glinda to mock Elphaba. But she starts dancing as weird as her, copying her moves. People stare for a moment. But then they all start dancing alike)(Everyone applaudes them. Lights on Glinda and Elphaba. They walk to the front of the stage whispering and laughing, while others exit. Enter Elphaba and Glinda’s bedroom scenario.)

Scene VI - How They (REALLY) Got Friends

Glinda: Your very first party ever?! We have to do something special, then! Oh, I know! Let's tell each other something we've never told anyone before... I'll go first: Fiyero and I are going to be married (squeals).Elphaba: Really? He's asked you already?Glinda: No, he doesn't know yet... Now, you tell me a secret.Elphaba: Like what?Glinda: I don’t know… Like something important... Like… Like… Like… Why do you walk and your sister doesn’t?Elphaba: Because she was born like that.Glinda: It's not fair. I told you a really good one.Elphaba: Ok. Hum… My father hates me.Glinda: (Gasps)Elphaba: But I don’t blame him, you know. I know how hard it was for him to have a daughter like me... All the shame he’s been through... The whole city would talk about the governors’ daughter and how green she was... Though nobody could ever explain why I was born like this. But no, that's not the secret. It's my fault...Glinda: What is?Elphaba: ... that my sister is the way she is. (Pause) You see, when my mother was carrying Nessa, my father was worried that the new baby might come out... Both: Green.Elphaba: So, he made her chew milk flowers day and night. That made Nessa come too soon, with her little legs all tangled. And my mother never woke up. None of which would ever have happened if not for me.Glinda: But that was the milkflowers’ fault, not yours…

Globe: (interrupting - as he speaks, Elphaba and Glinda freeze) I have a question!(Fiyero enters)Fiyero: What is it?Globe: I still don’t know why the wicked... (he hems) why Elphaba was born green.Fiyero: That is a good question, Globe. Let me show you, then.(Lover enters with Melena from the left stairs)Fiyero: (points to them) Look!Globe: That’s Elphaba’s mother!Fiyero: Yes. But that is not her husband.(They reach and cross the front of the stage and go out through left stairs, in a dance. As soon as they leave, Glinda and Elphaba unfreeze.)

Glinda: …That may be your secret, Elphaba, but that doesn't make it true. Oh, look, it's tomorrow! Elphie... Do you mind if I call you Elphie?Elphaba: (smiles) Well, it's a little perky.

Glinda: And you can call me... Glinda. So... Elphie... now that we're friends, I've decided to make you my new project!Elphaba: You really don't have to do that.Glinda: I know, that's what makes me so nice!Elphaba: This is never going to work!Glinda: Oh Elphie, you must not think that way anymore! Your whole life is going to change... and all because of me. You will be... Popular. You’re gonna be popular! I’ll teach you the proper loys, when you talk to boys, little ways to flirt and flounce… (squeals) I’ll show what shoes to wear and how to flip your hair! Haaan. Flip your hair! (Elphaba doesn’t look like she’s up to it) Come on, I’ll show you. Look: toss-toss. (She flips her hair and laughs) Your turn.(Elphaba TRIES to do the same. Glinda gets scared)Glinda: Well, you can do it with no hands. Look: Toss-toss-no-hands. (She laughs) Do it.(Elphaba does it horribly again. They laugh.)Glinda: And now, the final touch!(Elphaba sits on the chair. Glinda goes behind Elphie’s chair and puts a flower on her hair)Glinda: Ohh, miss Elphaba. Look at you. FIYERO WHERE ARE YOU?! ALREADY DEAD OR BLEEDING?ONE MORE DISASTER I CAN ADD TO MY GENEROUS SUPPLY!Nessa…Dr. Dillamond…Fiyero… FIYEROOOOOO!

(As the song rises, the guards knock Fiyero out and drag him off stage right before the last ‘FIYERO’ of the song. Blackout. Elphaba exits.)

SCENE XIV - How it ended

(Ozians enter with The Wizard behind them - Just like the first scene)Ozians: LET’S GO! LET’S FIND HER!! LET’S KILL HER!! LET’S THROW WATER ON HER SO SHE CAN MELT!!! SHE HAS TO DIE!! THE WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST MUST DIE!!!Boq: She turned me into a heartless tinman! Can you see this poor Lion? If she had allowed him to fight his own battles, he would have enough courage now!Ozians: KILL THE WITCH!!

(They freeze. Globe appears from the stairs. Fiyero appears from his opposite corner of the stage.)Fiyero: And she turned me into a scarecrow. (He takes off his hood) But it was to save my life. That’s what happened…Globe: Now I understand everything! Elphaba’s fame as “The Wicked Witch of the West”was unfair – she was only trying to help all of us and the ones she loved! I have to tell them!

(Globe runs to the Ozians and mingles with them. Fiyero hides but the audience can still see him. They unfreeze. Before Globe can do or say anything, we hear Elphaba’s laughter, the same from the beginning of the play, and she enters.)

Elphaba: Were you looking for me, Ozians? I am here!Ozians: YES! KILL HER! KILL HER! YES! KILL THE WITCH!Ozian: She’s too strong, we need something else, we need…Globe (coming from off-stage): …WATER! (he throws water on her and she melts down.)(Ozians celebrate.)(Blackout. Curtains close – but not completely.)

EPILOGUE

(Right before the curtains close completely, lights on the corner where Fiyero is)Fiyero: Well, at least that’s what we want them to think happened…(Elphaba enters from the other corner)Elphaba: Fiyero! (She runs to him.) It worked…(They hug)Elphaba: I only wish I could talk to Glinda one more time, so she could know we’re alive.

Fiyero: She can’t know, not if we want to be safe. No one can ever know.(She looks changed somehow.)Fiyero: What?Elphaba: Nothing... It’s just the first time I feel… WICKED!

(They exit through what’s left of the curtain and it closes.)
