• 2008-03, Global Policy for the Allocation of theRemaining IPv4 Address Space- Resulting 3 previous proposals- Author team across regions (15 people)- Distribute the last 5 /8s evenly among RIRs (N=1)- Main point:• Less pain (if any) in reaching the end of IPv4 free pool• Each region then can define a policy on how to distribute the last

piece(s) of allocations which best matches their situation

- Opposition based on “demonstration of need” principle
