Ferretería Americana was founded in 1944 in a local modest building dedicated exclusively to the Hardware Sales Business, in the Mella Ave. where still exists.

Because of the growing needs of the Local Market and customers demands, Ferretería Americana evolutioned and amplified its market share. With the purpose of giving more space to our clients the new Ferretería Americana located in the San Martin Avenue was founded.

In the 70’s new non traditional product lines were introduced such as Sports, Outdoors, Gifts, Toys and Kitchen Appliances.

In the 90’s other categories were included. Lines of Office Appliances, Electronics, Pool Products, Pets Food, Lawn and Garden Materials and Interior and Exterior Decoration Material were introduced.

History

In 1995, celebrating its 50 anniversary with the local community, Ferretería Americana

began a new chapter in its expansion period with the construction of a new building on the John F, Kennedy Ave. the most complete and modern Hardware Store complemented with a Department Store carrying the most extensive line of products.

This new building is located in the John F. Kennedy Avenue offering the benefits of purchases with pleasure because of its wide space inside the store.

In 2001 local Branches in Megacentro Mall are opened to the public.

In 2003 we explored the country’s East Region, as Ferretería Americana Bávaro Branch was inaugurated.

In 2004, we expanded Ferretería Americana San Martin Building, commemorating our 60 anniversary, offering more products.

In 2006, we opened an outlet branch in Máximo Gómez Ave. in Santo Domingo.

In 2006, we opened a new branch in Punta Cana specialized in construction materials and warehouse.

In 2008, we opened a new branch in Casa de Campo, La Romana.

In 2008 we opened a Central Warehouse.

In 2009 we expanded the building of Ferretería Americana in the Jonh F. Kennedy Ave. and added underground parking space.

In 2009 we opened a new branch in Km. 11 of Carretera Duarte in Santo Domingo, specialized in construction materials/
