I would like to have a heart to heart conversation with you.

Welcome to the Fasting for a Breakthrough 21 days challenge. Have you ever had a heavy heart feeling? Is your heart heavy right now? Are you at a lost trying to figure out what to do about the feelings you are having concerning your life, ministry, career, work, business, family, etc? I know the feeling. I want to have a heart to heart conversation with you being transparent and truthful about what has been going on with me. As I look at my life, ministry and business over the last 2 years I discovered through prayer, meditation and mentoring that I wasn't performing at my "greatest potential" with the greater works assigned to my life by God. I become weary waiting on others to do things they promised to do. I shared this in the Facebook group and with my email list. You know, God doesn't tell us to wait on the promises of others to do what He has called us to do, He tells us to wait on Him to do what He promised He will do. My aha breakthrough came on a phone call with a distant mentor - bringing to my attention that I may have caused a disconnect with you my community of friends and followers such as my e-club members, social media following and connections, & ministry page followers waiting on a connection with one person who didn't or wouldn't come through. As I position myself to stay on track and on assignment I want to make sure that I am serving you at the level of my greatest potential and in a spirit of excellence God has

spiritually empowered and trusted me with. I shared all of this in the Facebook group and with my email list.

I have been led by the Spirit of God to go on 21 days of fasting and prayer to break the heaviness off of my life that has kept me from doing the greater works assigned to me. The Bible tells us that two are better than one. Because of this, I invite and welcome you to join me on this 21 days journey for a major breakthrough to happen spiritually and naturally in all of our lives.

If you are like me you are believing God for some major Breakthroughs. Let's fast and touch and agree together!


Here are the challenge details at a glance:

You will receive the Exhortation & Fasting/Prayer Journal in two intervals of the challenge. First, Tier One- Days 1-10 (you have this one right now) and second, Tier Two – Days 11-21 you will receive on Day 8. These will be posted in the Got To Get Myself Together Challenge Facebook Group here https://www.facebook.com/groups/GTGMTChallenge2013/.

There will be daily early Morning Prayer calls at 6AM CST.

There will be daily late Evening Prayer calls at 10PM CST.

Prayer requests for each day will be collected from the group posting the night before or as early as 5-5:30am the morning of, as well as, 9-9:30PM the night of the prayer call. Each prayer call will be 15 minutes long; except for the first call will about 20 mins, with 5 minutes of exhortation and 10 minutes of prayer time.

The Purpose of Fasting and Prayer -Isaiah 58

I believe this scripture teaches us the purpose of fasting and prayer very clearly. Without going into a theological writing on this, I thought it would be best to use the Word of God to speak directly to us. I have bold the scriptures that I would like for you to pay close attention to. Be sure to do your own study on this passage of scripture before we start the fast on Sunday, July 19 th. Here is the passage of scripture from New King James Version.

Isaiah 58 New King James Version (NKJV)

Fasting that Pleases God

“Cry aloud, spare not; Lift up your voice like a trumpet; Tell My people their transgression, And the house of Jacob their sins. 2 Yet they seek Me daily, And delight to know My ways, As a nation that did righteousness, And did not forsake the ordinance of their God. They ask of Me the ordinances of justice; They take delight in approaching God. 3 ‘Why have we fasted,’ they say, ‘and You have not seen? Why have we afflicted our souls, and You take no notice?’

“In fact, in the day of your fast you find pleasure, And exploit all your laborers. 4 Indeed you fast for strife and debate, And to strike with the fist of wickedness. You will not fast as you do this day, To make your voice heard on high. 5 Is it a fast that I have chosen, A day for a man to afflict his soul? Is it to bow down his head like a bulrush, And to spread out sackcloth and ashes? Would you call this a fast, And an acceptable day to the LORD?

6 “Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke? 7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him, And not hide yourself from your own flesh? 8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard. 9 Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer; You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’


“If you take away the yoke from your midst, The pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness, 10 If you extend your soul to the hungry And satisfy the afflicted soul, Then your light shall dawn in the darkness, And your darkness shall be as the noonday. 11 The LORD will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail. 12 Those from among you Shall build the old waste places; You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.

13 “If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, From doing your pleasure on My holy day, And call the Sabbath a delight, The holy day of the LORD honorable, And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, Nor finding your own pleasure, Nor speaking your own words, 14 Then you shall delight yourself in the LORD; And I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, And feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of the LORD has spoken.”

The Daniel’s Fast

Daniel 10 – The New Living Translation

In the third year of the reign of King Cyrus of Persia, Daniel (also known as Belteshazzar) had another vision. He understood that the vision concerned events certain to happen in the

future—times of war and great hardship.

2 When this vision came to me, I, Daniel, had been in mourning for three whole weeks. 3 All that time I had eaten no rich food. No meat or wine crossed my lips, and I used no fragrant lotions until those three weeks had passed.

4 On April 23, as I was standing on the bank of the great Tigris River, 5 I looked up and saw a man dressed in linen clothing, with a belt of pure gold around his waist. 6 His body looked like a precious gem. His face flashed like lightning, and his eyes flamed like torches. His arms and feet shone like polished bronze, and his voice roared like a vast multitude of people.

7 Only I, Daniel, saw this vision. The men with me saw nothing, but they were suddenly terrified and ran away to hide. 8 So I was left there all alone to see this amazing vision. My strength left me, my face grew deathly pale, and I felt very weak. 9 Then I heard the man


speak, and when I heard the sound of his voice, I fainted and lay there with my face to the ground.

10 Just then a hand touched me and lifted me, still trembling, to my hands and knees. 11 And the man said to me, “Daniel, you are very precious to God, so listen carefully to what I have to say to you. Stand up, for I have been sent to you.” When he said this to me, I stood up, still trembling.

12 Then he said, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer. 13 But for twenty-one days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the archangels, came to help me, and I left him there with the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia. 14 Now I am here to explain what will happen to your people in the future, for this vision concerns a time yet to come.”

15 While he was speaking to me, I looked down at the ground, unable to say a word. 16 Then the one who looked like a man touched my lips, and I opened my mouth and began to speak. I said to the one standing in front of me, “I am filled with anguish because of the vision I have seen, my lord, and I am very weak. 17 How can someone like me, your servant, talk to you, my lord? My strength is gone, and I can hardly breathe.”

18 Then the one who looked like a man touched me again, and I felt my strength returning. 19 “Don’t be afraid,” he said, “for you are very precious to God. Peace! Be encouraged! Be strong!” As he spoke these words to me, I suddenly felt stronger and said to him, “Please speak to me, my lord, for you have strengthened me.”

20 He replied, “Do you know why I have come? Soon I must return to fight against the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia, and after that the spirit prince of the kingdom of Greece will come. 21 Meanwhile, I will tell you what is written in the Book of Truth. (No one helps me against these spirit princes except Michael, your spirit prince.


About The Fast

The Daniel Fast is a partial fast, meaning that some foods are eaten and others are restricted. The fast is typically followed for 21 consecutive days and is like a vegan eating plan with more restrictions and the only beverage on the fast is water. First and foremost, the fast is a spiritual discipline where followers of Jesus Christ can draw nearer to God and focus more of their attention on Him and His ways. In today’s busy and distracting culture, entering into the fasting experience is like pushing the pause button a hectic life and centering more on the rest that Jesus offers. This quieter and more focused time allows you to hear the still small voice of the Holy Spirit as He reveals God’s truth and direction for your life.
