Dual USB Drive not recognized by mobile device
Why is my Dual USB Drive not being recognized by my Mobile Device?
SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive is designed to be compatible with USB-On-The-Go enabled
Android devices. Please verify your mobile device is compatible with Dual USB Drive and you
have properly connected the drive to your mobile device. Please visit the Dual USB Drive
Compatibility Page to verify compatibility with your device.
64GB and 128GB Dual USB Drives come preformatted in exFat file system and certain mobile
devices do not support exFat. In this case please format the drive in Fat32 file system.
Formatting USB drives with third party tools
Please insure the dual drive is fully inserted into the microUSB port on your mobile device.
Some mobile devices may disable power to the SanDisk Dual USB drive when the device's
battery reaches a critically low level. This may cause the Dual USB Drive to no longer be
recognized until the battery is charged and the device is power cycled.
Note: Some mobile device protective cases interfere with the full and proper connection between
SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive and the microUSB port of mobile devices. You may have to
remove the protective case on your mobile device to obtain a full and proper connection.

Write Protect Error on USB Flash Drives
How do I fix a Write Protect error?
Write protection errors occur when a flash drive detects a potential fault within itself. The drive will go into write-protected mode to prevent data loss. There is no method to fix this. To verify the issue is related to the flash drive and not your computer we recommend that you try plugging the USB drive into another port on your computer. You should also try the drive on another computer if possible. Note: If using a company computer, ensure your IT department does not block saving files to removable drives.
Getting Started with SanDisk iXpand
How do I use the SanDisk iXpand Flash Drive?
The SanDisk iXpand flash drive is designed for use with Apple iPhone and iPad devices
equipped with a Lightning port and iOS 7.1 or later.
Connecting SanDisk iXpand to an iPhone or iPad
Gently lift up on the flexible lightning cable and firmly connect it to the iPhone or iPad lightning
port.
NOTE: The flexible lightning cable should never be bent completely backwards, this can cause
damage.
Install / Launch the iXpand Sync application
To access an iXpand Flash Drive on iPhone or iPad you will need to install the iXpand Sync
companion application. iXpand Sync is the free application which allows iPhone and iPad users
to interact with the iXpand flash drive. First time users will be prompted to install the iXpand
Sync application when the drive is first connected to the iPhone or iPad. To install the App
simply click "App Store" when prompted and follow the standard app installation process.
After installing iXpand Sync you will be prompted to launch the app each time an iXpand Flash
Drive is connected to your iPhone or iPad.
Securing Files with iXpand Sync
Is there an option to secure my sensitive files using iXpand Sync?
iXpand Sync provides users with a password protection feature to secure sensitive data.
To enable password protection navigate to the settings menu and select "Security". If you turn-on
security in the app, you will be prompted to set a password. Once the password is set, a folder
named "SanDiskSecureAccess Vault" will be created on the iXpand drive. This folder will
become home to secured files and will only be accessible with the password.
NOTE: Be sure to choose a password that will not easily be forgotten. There is no way to recover
a forgotten password or decrypt secured files without the password.
Once Security is enabled and the SanDiskSecureAccess Vault folder has been created you may
begin securing files. First select the files to secure, then tap the lock icon on the bottom of the
screen and enter the password. Once the securing process is complete the files will be moved to
the SanDiskSecureAccess Vault folder.
Files stored in the SecureAccess Vault can be accessed by tapping the SanDiskSecureAccess
Vault folder icon and entering the password. To unlock files, select the file using the select
function and then tap the unlock button.
NOTE: Secured Music, Videos, and Documents can only be viewed after they are unlocked.
Secured photos with file size 10MB or smaller can be viewed directly within the Vault folder
without unlocking.
NOTE: The SecureAccess Settings folder is required for use of the security function. If this
folder or any files contained within the folder are deleted security functions will stop
working and previously secured files will no longer be accessible. Do Not delete
the SecureAccess Settings folder if you intend to use the file security feature. If you do not intent
to use the security feature both the SanDisk SecureAccess Vault folder and the SecureAccess
Settings folders can be deleted when the iXpand drive is connected to a computer.
Backing up the "Camera Roll" to the iXpand Flash Drive
How do I backup my Camera Roll photos and videos to the iXpand Flash Drive?
Photos and Videos can be backed up to the iXpand Flash Drive via 2 methods, Camera Sync and
Manual Copy.
Camera Sync will automatically copy new photos and videos from your camera roll to the
iXpand Flash Drive each time the iXpand Sync application is launched.
To set up Camera Sync, select "Camera Sync" from the iXpand Sync menu and toggle the
Automatic Sync switch to the 'on' position. The initial sync may take several minutes depending
on the number of photos and videos being copied. Please ensure the iXpand battery is charged
above 80% for a large initial sync. Following the initial sync each subsequent time the iXpand
drive is connected to your iPhone or iPad newly captured photos and/or videos will
automatically sync to the iXpand Flash Drive.
Note: Photos and videos will remain in the camera roll until intentionally deleted.
Manual Copy of photos and videos can be performed by tapping the Plus ( + ) button on the
home screen. Upon tapping the Plus button you will be prompted to select photos and videos
from your camera roll to copy. Once the desired files are selected you will be prompted to
select a destination folder on the iXpand. To complete the copy simply tap the "copy here"
button and the file(s) will be copied to your iXpand Flash Drive.
