    TD summer reading club

    Online registration begins June 1.Join us this summer, both online and in the library, for tD summer reading Club! our interactive and fun online summer reading Club site will allow you to log your reading hours, earn virtual badges, create and customize your very own avatar and set personal reading goals. Keep up your reading throughout the summer for the chance to win some incredible prizes! Participate in fun and fabulous programs all summer long and take part in our weekly summer reading Club games at your local branch.

    Dont have access to a computer?no problem! you can track your hours using our summer reading Club logbook and enter your hours on our computers at your next visit to the library. our staff members are always happy to assist with registration and logging time.

    Grand prizes.this year, summer reading Club participants have the opportunity to win one of four grand prizes. We have two $500 Lego Gift Cards. the opportunities to create with Lego are endlesswhat will you build? We also have two Lego Mindstorms EV3 sets, which can be used to create a variety of robots with technologies including touch, colour and infrared sensors.

    Bonus prizes. other cool prizes include sphero 2.0, 3D Doodler pens, Chapters gift cards, Lego Duplo and more. your chances of winning increase with every badge you earn so keep reading all summer long.

    What is Summer Reading Club?our summer reading Club program aims to keep kids reading over the course of the summer by offering literacy-based programming with games, prizes, activities and other incentives to read. research proves that reading over the summer helps children when they return to school, and strong literacy skills help children throughout their entire lives. summer reading Club opens the door to a world of imagination, creativity and play.

    When is Summer Reading Club offered?online registration begins June 1, and the program runs in the library from June 27 to august 22.

    Who can join Summer Reading Club? babies, toddlers and children of all ages are invited to join in the fun this summer. Families can read together. siblings can read to each other. Mom and Dad can read to their babies. as long as youre reading or being read to, youre in the club!

    TEaChERSEncourage your students to participate and youll see what a difference reading all summer makes when they come back to school in the fall. our staff are available to visit your school to get your kids excited about reading this summer.     PaREnTSMark your calendars! Kids can sign up online starting June 1, giving them lots of time to explore the website, start tracking reading hours and create their custom avatar before the opening ceremonies on June 28.     how much does it cost and where do I register? summer reading Club is completely free! you can register online or at any of our locations around the city. turn to the map on the back cover of this guide to find the branch nearest you. When you visit a branch, you can pick up a summer reading Club package that includes an activity book that you can also use to log reading time. For every badge earned, you get a chance to win.

    Earning badges has never been more fun! read six hours for your first badge and then come into any EPL branch to collect a six-hour reading prize. and for every six hours you read after that, youll automatically earn additional reading badges and more entries for our great srC prizes.

    there are other ways to earn badges too. attend any srC program, find where Hooty is hiding in any EPL branch, use your noodle and crack our weekly riddles or visit our cool new places in Edmonton to build up your badge collection. the more badges you collect, the more chances you have to win prizes.
