ABRAHAM LINCOLN• Abraham Lincoln was born on

the 12th of February in 1809. He was the16th President of the United States, serving from March 1861 until his assassination in April 1865. Lincoln led the United States through its Civil War--its bloodiest war and its greatest moral, constitutional and political crisis. In so doing he preserved the Union, abolished slavery, strengthened the national government and modernized the economy. He died on the 15th of April in 1865.

CELINE DION• Celine Marie Claudette Dion

was born on the 30th of March in1968. She is a Canadian singer. She was born in a large family from Charlemagne, Quebec. Dion emerged as a teen star in the French-speaking world after her manager and future husband Rene Angelil mortgaged his home to finance her first record.
