Department of Management has initiated and evolved a wide canvas of extra-curricular activities for the students to participate. The activities are nurtured by active inputs from the Head of the Department, alumni and the faculty. The following is the gamut of activities and committees managed by the students :
Academics Committee: The committee is consistently involved in formulating a scope of activities, which constitute a student's academic input. The team nurtures the student's need to stay well informed and conversant with various business and technology issues by arranging various workshops, guest lectures, industrial visits, panel discussions and seminars. Placement & Alumni Committee : Department of Management draws upon the rich experience of its alumni who have carved a place for themselves in the industry. This Committee serves as an interface between the institute and its alumni and organizes regular alumni meets, where all alumni gather and share their experience with one another amidst the company of friends and colleagues. It also comprises of a dedicated team that reports to the Faculty in-charge. It has been consistently raising the bar with every year and successfully achieving summer and final placements. NSS Committee: Students are involved in various activities under National Social Service Scheme ,like Celebration of National youth day, world women day. Proposed activities of this committee is to work on the use of sustainable energy sources like Solar enlightenment trough out the university campus, maintain the green and clean campus and to work on water harvesting process within the campus. Be it intra-departmental event or inter- departmental, we assume the responsibility of offering opportunities to the students to showcase their talent and organizing skills to complement and supplement the class based learning which in turn helps in their value addition at large. Earthian is a sustainability program of Wipro. Each year they conduct a global competition on sustainability. Result of 2012 Earthian
got out on 2013 and the paper ‘SEEZ: THE FUTURE OF GREEN INDUSTRIALIZATION’ from Department of Management, University
of North Bengal managed to be listed there among top 10 winner in college category. After a tough competition among more than
thousands papers submitted from different parts of the globe, the final result was out.
Our Earthian team along with honorable Head of The Department and Training and Placement Officer were invited to Wipro global
headquarter in Bangalore on 15th February, 2013. The award was handed over by the chairman of Wipro, Hon’ble Mr. Azim Premji at
J.N.Tata Auditorium, IISC Bangalore on 16th of February, 2013.
Apart from various media publications, Business Standard’s E-Magazine Campus Talk published this report as a top story and our
student correspondent for Campus Talk was chosen as the ‘Star Reporter of The Month’ for the report.
