A class committee consists of teachers of the concerned class, student representatives and a chairperson who is not teaching the class. The function of the class committee includes the following:◦Solving problems.◦ Informing the dates of assessments to student

representatives◦ Identifying the weak students

◦ The class committee shall be constituted on the first working day of any semester or earlier.

◦ At least 2 students’ representatives (usually 1 boy and 1 girl) shall be included in the class committee

◦ During these meetings the student members representing the entire class, shall meaningfully interact and express the opinions and suggestions of the class students to improve the effectiveness of the teaching learning process

A MCA student will be deemed to have completed the course in any semester only if

• He / She secures not less than 75% of attendance overall course in that semester on the total number of period offered in that course during that semester.

• 10% is permitted on medical grounds. • 10% for students who represent the University in

sports, games, cultural, symposium and other similar activities

• should not exceed 10% but it is applicable for individual course.

◦A candidate who is not permitted to appear for the University examinations due to lack of attendance requirements will have to re-register and do the courses when they are offered subsequently.

For theory based courses one cycle test of 10 marks, surprise test of 5 marks, model examination of 20 marks, two assignments of 10 marks 5 marks for attendance totaling to 50. The end semester examination for 50 marks will

be conducted at the end of the semester.

For theory course with laboratory components,

cycle test of 10 marks, assignment / one technical paper of 5 marks, model examination of 15 marks, laboratory for 15 marks 5 marks for attendance totaling to 50. The end semester examination for 50 marks

will be conducted at the end of the semester.

A candidate shall normally be permitted to appear for the end semester examination of any semester if he / she has satisfied the semester completion requirements and has registered for examination in all courses of that semester.

October to December in the odd semester during March to May in the even semester. Question papers will be set by external or internal

examiners and valued by two external and / or internal examiners.

If the difference in the valuation is more than 10 marks, third valuation will be taken and if the difference is less than 10 marks, to be referred to average.

parts namely PART-A and PART-B. PART-A consists 10 two marks questions without any

choice. Part-B consists of 5 sixteen mark questions of either or

pattern for each unit (5 Units).

All practical examinations including project work, viva voce will be conducted by internal and / or external examiners appointed by the University.

  The maximum marks for any course (theory or

practical excluding project work) will be 100 comprising of 50 marks for internal assessment and 50 marks for the end semester examinations.

A candidate who secures not less than 50% of total declared to have passed in the examination for that course.

If a candidate fails to secure a it is mandatory that he / she shall register and reappear for the examination in that course during the next semester, Internal marks remain same.

Grade points, will be awarded as per the range of total marks (out of 100) obtained by the candidate, as detailed below:

“F” denotes failure in the course “I” denotes  “W” denotes withdrawal The GPA will be calculated as  GPA = (C x GP) C where C = Credit for the course, GP the grade point.  CGPA will be calculated in a similar manner, considering

all the courses enrolled from the first semester.

FIRST CLASS WITH DISTINCTION CGPA not less than 8.00 shall be declared to

have passed in First Class with Distinction. FIRST CLASS CGPA of not less than 6.50 shall be declared

to have passed in First ClassSECOND CLASS All other candidates who qualify for the

award of degree having passed the examinations

A candidate is not normally permitted to temporarily break the study (such as accident or hospitalization due to prolonged ill health) and to rejoin the programme in a later.

If any student is detained for want of requisite attendance, progress and good conduct, the period spent in that semester shall not be considered as permitted ‘Break of Study’ is not applicable for this case.

Every student is required to observe disciplined and decorous behavior both inside and outside the college and not to indulge in any activity which will tend to bring down the prestige of the University.

The Academic Council of the University reserves the right to revise or change or amend the regulations, the scheme of examinations, the curriculum and the syllabi from time to time.
