He </p><p>continues to send policy papers to government in the area of fiscal finance. </p></li><li><p>Annual Report 2012-13 University Building Leadership </p><p>Page | 510 </p><p> Student Leadership </p><p>o Several societies exist in our College and throughout the year Exhibitions, Competitions, and </p><p>Debates were arranged by them to actively involve the students and to help develop leadership </p><p>in them. This institutionalized effort has been very helpful. </p><p>Faculty of Economics &amp; Management Science </p><p>INSTITUTE OF ADMINISTRATIVE SCIENCES </p><p>o Students of IAS regularly participate in co-curricular activities including sports, youth forum, </p><p>debates, essay writing and project competitions throughout the year and won prizes. Recently </p><p>students of the BS Management program participated in the social entrepreneurship project </p><p>competition at the Forman Christian College University and won a trophy. Seminars, </p><p>professional development workshops, students grooming sessions, organizational visits, </p><p>welcome and farewell parties f or students are organized on regular basis. Moreover, to </p><p>enhance their job market a career fair and organization meet up day is also organized for </p><p>graduating students of the Institute. A national conference on Sales Management has been </p><p>organized in collaboration with The Lahore Chamber of Commerce &amp; Industry (LCCI) to </p><p>strengthen the University-Industry linkages. Formal MOUs have been signed with Pehchan a </p><p>local NGO working for Child-Youth Citizenship Behavior to inculcate civic and community sense </p><p>in the young students and with Business Support Fund (BSF), Ministry of Finance to showcase </p><p>research projects of IAS students as highlight activities undertaken at the Institute. All the </p><p>National Day celebrations including the Quiad-i-Azam day, Iqbal day, Eid Milad-ul-Nabi day are </p><p>made to pay tribute to the great leaders and refresh their teachings and services to the nation </p><p>and the humanity. In order to encourage and guide potential young students for competitive </p><p>examination a CSS Forum has been developed which organizes awareness and development </p><p>sessions throughout the year. These sessions are open to the students of other departments of </p><p>the Punjab University as well and organized bimonthly. </p><p>Faculty of Engineering &amp; Technology </p><p>DEPARTMENT OF TEXTILE ENGINEERING &amp; TECHNOLOGY </p><p> Faculty Leadership </p><p>o The Chairman of the Department, as member Academic Council of National Textile University </p><p>(NTU), Faisalabad, participated in the meeting held on 23.10.2012. </p><p>o The Chairman of the Department, as member participated in the Selection Board of the National </p><p>Textile University, Faisalabad held on 30.08.2012 </p><p>o The Chairman of the Department; participated in the 4th International Conference on Textile </p><p>and Clothing (ICTC 2013) on the theme of Sustainable Products on Textile Exports, jointly </p></li><li><p>Annual Report 2012-13 University Building Leadership </p><p>Page | 511 </p><p>organized by Society of Dyes and Colorists (SDC), The Textile institute Lahore, of University of </p><p>Management and Technology (UMT) Lahore on March 28-30, 2013. </p><p>o The Chairman of the Department; as member delivered a keynote lecture at the 1st Conference </p><p>on Emerging Materials and Processes (CEMP 2013) NUST at Islamabad held on 22nd - 24th </p><p>August, 2013. </p><p>INSTITUTE OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING &amp; TECHNOLOGY </p><p> Faculty Leadership </p><p>o Seniors faculty members are members of different committees formulated by HEC and PEC to </p><p>improve the curriculum and quality of education (accreditation). </p><p>o Faculty members are active members of different organizations which are trying to improve the </p><p>standards of education and research e.g. PEC and PIChE. </p><p> Student Leadership </p><p>o Students are encouraged to join various community and social organizations for developing </p><p>leadership qualities. </p><p>o Annually, programs been organized on the occasions of 12th Rabiul Awal, 14th August, Iqbal &amp; </p><p>Quaids day.
