Brief Description of Undergraduate Courses Taught: (Course Title – Code: Description)
1. Writing II (Eng.231). This course is preceded by Writing (1), so it is an advanced
course, focusing on types of writing such as analytical writing, critical and others.
2. Listening II (Eng. 211). This course is preceded by listening and speaking (1). Here it
continues to train students to listen to spoken texts so that students can write these texts
in a short way and answer questions about them.
3. Reading II (Eng.220). This course is preceded by a Reading (1). This course focuses on

training students to comprehend different texts written in different aspects.
4. Arts of Speech (412). This course is an advanced course that trains the student to speak,
discuss and negotiate.
5. Essay Writing (Eng. 332). This course is also an advanced course and it aims to train the
student to write texts in multiple advanced subjects.
6. Phonetics and phonology (Eng.351). This course focuses on the change of sound as a
result of its occurrence in the word.
7. General Linguistics 2 (ENGL 4440-03 15634). This course presents an introduction to
applied linguistics.
8. General Linguistics 1 (ENGL 4250-01 13519). This course presents an introduction to
theoretical linguistics.
9. Introduction to Linguistics (Eng. 250). This course is an introduction to linguistics at the
levels of theoretical and applied linguistics.
10. Sociolinguistics (Eng. Eng. 456N). This course aims to provide the basics of
sociolinguistics which includes dialectology, linguistic diversity, language policy.

1. Applied Linguistics I (8003514). This course is provided to MA students (literature), so
it provides an overview of applied linguistics.
2. Applied Linguistics II (8003520). This is the second course in linguistics provided to
MA students (literature). It provides an additional profile on applied linguistics such as
sociolinguistics and psychological linguistics.
3. English Texts 4 –History department (520). This course is offered to the students of the
PhD degree in history, a course that focuses on some grammatical rules and focuses on
the comprehension and translation of historical texts.

4. Research Methodology (514).This course is offered to MA students of the English
Language Department. It focuses on the methods of conducting and writing a research.
