If you are unsure of your ability to properly install a product, please have the product installed by your local motorcycle dealer. All screws, bolts, and nuts, including all replacement hardware provided by TWISTED THROTTLE should be tightened to the torque specified in the OEM maintenance manual for your motorcycle. If no torque specifications are provided in the OEM maintenance manual, the following torques may be used:

M5...........................................3.5 ft-lbs (5 Nm) M6...........................................7 ft-lbs (9.6 Nm) M8..........................................13 ft-lbs (18 Nm)

All screws, bolts, and nuts should be checked after driving the first 30 miles (50 km) to ensure that all are tightened to the proper torque.

Medium strength liquid thread-locker (i.e., "Locktite") should be used to secure all screws, bolts, and nuts.

Step One: Install the front mounting bracket to the frame. If you are mounting the Skidplate without the SW-Motech Crashbars, you will need to use the two additional 6mm spacers (A) on the inside of the front mounting bracket.

Step Two: Inistall the rear left and rear right mounting brackets to the underside of the footpeg assembly. Use the original washers along with the longer M8 hex head screws supplied. Note: The left side bracket is the shorter of the two.

Step Three: Attach the skidplate to the front mounting bracket. First insert the rubber grommets (14) into the skid plate before installing the remaining hardware.

Step Four: Attach the base of the Skidplate to the rear mounting brackets. Again, be sure to insert the rubber grommets into the Skid-plate before installing the remaining hardware.
