GENERAL INFORMATION
Rules The Collège Champittet rules apply to all activities and workshops that appear in this brochure. Any failure to follow Collège Champittet regulations or basic good manners and safety rules will be subject to disciplinary action.

Enrolment Enrolment for extracurricular activities is open from 25
th July and throughout the 2014-
15 academic year. Students can be enrolled on the workshops by completing a special
enrolment form, available at Collège Champittet reception.
Transport Collège Champittet offers an after school bus service to transport students home. The
service departs from the college at 4pm and 5.30pm.
If you would like to use this service, please consult the school bus brochure and contact
the transport coordinator at [email protected]. Places are limited.
Availability
Some workshops fill up quickly. Capacity per activity is determined in agreement with
the teacher, to ensure the safety and well-being of all students. We strive to offer a wide
range of activities, but this is subject to the capacity of our facilities and the availability of
teaching staff.
Confirmation of enrolment
An enrolment confirmation will be sent within 10 working days of receipt of the
enrolment form (except between 28th
July and 19th
August 2014). Please check the
information on the form and notify any errors to [email protected].
Absence
For organisational and supervisory reasons, it is essential that the class teacher is
notified of any foreseeable absence. This applies to all workshops and activities in this
brochure.

GENERAL AND FINANCIAL CONDITIONS
The optional extracurricular activities mentioned in the brochure are generally taught
throughout the academic year and will be billed termly in advance. Prices are calculated
on a quarterly lump sum basis and take account of holidays and leave.
Terms are defined as follows:

Any early cancellation or withdrawal must be notified in writing to the school’s secretariat or via email to [email protected] (please use this address only); the date of the email or postmark serving as confirmation. An amendment or cancellation shall only be deemed valid if Collège Champittet has thereof confirmed receipt. We enforce a 2-month cancellation notification deadline for the end of a term, i.e.:
- no later than 31st
October for the end of the 1st
term - no later than 30
th January for the end of the 2
nd term
The activities of the 3
rd term automatically finish at the end of school year.
If these deadlines are not met, invoices for the current term and the following term will be billed. If a student is excluded from a class, even temporarily, due to bad behaviour observed by the teacher, the current and subsequent billing period will still be payable.
No reductions or discounts will be applied if a student is absent from class.
If a teacher is absent, the workshop may be cancelled. Unless otherwise indicated by
the parents, students in 2P to 5P will receive care at the G. Payot building facilities, and
those in 6P to 14th grade will undertake supervised study in the St-Bernard building,
A workshop may be cancelled if the minimum number of participants required to begin the workshop is not reached.
GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION
Signing one or more enrolment forms implies acceptance of these general and financial terms and conditions.
These general and financial terms and conditions are valid for the 2014/2015 academic year. They supersede all prior terms and conditions and may be amended at any time. Jurisdiction is that of Pully, Switzerland.

SAFETY
For safety reasons, students are not permitted to be on campus unsupervised outside
class/workshop hours.
When a workshop teacher is absent, if a student is not in the care of their parents, they
must adhere to the instructions of the school’s supervisors.
If a student needs to wait for their parents to arrive, this must be indicated in advance:
- for primary students, to the junior supervision coordinator
- for secondary students, to the prefecture’s office
The student should never stay in the playground or corridors of Collège Champittet.
After the classes/workshops, once parents have collected their children, they are under
their responsibility and are advised not to remain on campus.
If the safety rules are not followed, Collège Champittet disclaims all liability for any
accident, injury or damage that may arise due to disobedience by any student(s) or the
occurrence of any unforeseeable event, regardless of precautions taken by Collège
Champittet.

PRIMARY – EXTRACURRICULAR CARE
Extracurricular care starts on Thursday, 28th
August 2014. ► EXTRACURRICULAR CARE This extracurricular care is for students from 1P to 5P.
Morning: In the morning, before classes begin, students can be dropped off at the Gérard Payot care facilities, located on the ground floor of the building, from 7.30am as follows:
- students in 4P and 8P : 7.30am–8.10am → entry into classes - students in 1P to 3P : 7.30am–8.30am → entry into classes
This service is free of charge.
After school: After school, students can receive care between 3.45pm and 6pm (at the latest). This afternoon care, which is separate to the workshops described in this brochure, includes a snack and activities (a range of games and creative, sports and art activities). To enrol for the after school care, complete the “Extracurricular care” form. In addition to the snack, students from 3P to 5P undertake assisted study, enabling them to do their homework with the help of a member of the teaching staff.

Slips are available at the school’s secretariat from 7.30am to 4pm. For siblings: Students from 1P to 6P whose sibling is attending a workshop are able to wait for them in the G. Payot building care facilities free of charge.
► LUNCH
Students from 1P to 5P primary who are part-time boarders, the “Juniors” workshops after mealtimes are mandatory (see enrolment’s general and financial conditions, p5). For students who are not part-time boarders, for limited periods it is sometimes possible to purchase single meal tickets at a price of CHF 40 (including the mandatory junior workshops) for students until 5P. Slips are available at the school’s secretariat from 7.30am to 4pm.
Note:
Students from 1P to 6P who have completed a workshop before the bus departure time or who need to wait for their parents should go to the G.Payot building care facilities. This service is free of charge.

► LE JARDIN DES CHANSONS 1P – 2P Minimum 5 / maximum 10
Singing is the basis of all music education. Rhymes, songs gestures, round and melodies are essential for emotional balance. They develop sensitivity, attention and memory. During this workshop, children accompanied by a parent, made his/her first steps in the world of music. Registration is done through the "Music" form.

► EURYTHMICS Minimum 5 / maximum 10
The Dalcroze method, also known as Dalcroze Eurhythmics, is another approach music educators use to foster music appreciation, ear-training and improvisation while improving musical abilities. In this method, the body is the main instrument. Students listen to the rhythm of a music piece and express what they hear through movement. Simply put, this approach connects music, movement, mind, and body. Registration is done through the "Music" form.

PRIMARY – MUSIC
► SCHOOL CHOIR 2P & up
The Collège Champittet school choir is a choir of boys and girls who sing mainly sacred music in
equal or mixed voices.
Vocal and musical development
Singing, polyphony, music theory concepts, discovering a varied repertoire ranging from the
Renaissance to Gospel music.
Activities / commitments
Liturgical celebrations, primarily at the school, but also in the Sacré-Cœur parish (around 6 masses per year), concerts, a tour, and a 2-day music camp during the academic year. The fee covers all school choir activities, including travel. To enrol on School choir, complete the “Music” form.

► PRIVATE LESSONS Private lessons help develop children’s musical ability at their own pace, discovering what they like. Students should already know how to play an instrument. Taekwondo is a Korean martial art. This is a complete discipline that combines the key aspects of martial arts (art, combat, self defense, meditations). Regular training improves flexibility, strength and coordination. The teacher, M. Patrick Porqueddu, is 5
th Dan Kukkiwon, several times Swiss Champion and
international medalist, expert for the Swiss Black Belt exams, and is the director of Kim TKD schools since 1995.

Theatre and improvisation develop skills such as imagination, observation, and physical and vocal expression. These classes stimulate creativity and imaginativeness through play. They stimulate their natural disposition to role-play, develop their self-confidence, and their ability to adapt to a group and to the world around them. In addition to learning drawing techniques, this workshop aims to develop students’ imagination and creativity and help them express themselves through their artistic creations. They will experiment with colour, clay, collage, engraving and painting on a range of tools and materials. They will be encouraged to invent, transform, and discover the joy of artistic creation. ► ADVANCED CHINESE GS – 2P Minimum 5 / Maximum 8
An evaluation of Chinese level will be made and will determine the groups. This workshop is for students who have already taken Chinese lessons. This class will develop their skills in spoken and written Chinese. Using a lively and interactive teaching method, students will continue to learn about Chinese culture. They will use the “Monkey King Chinese” textbook, which uses vocabulary related to their daily lives. To enrol on advanced Chinese, complete the “Primary” form.

THURSDAY – PRIMARY
► DRAMA IN ENGLISH 5P – 8P The pupils are involved in a series of fun-filled learning activities which aim to develop ongoing
confidence, self-esteem and skill in verbal communication. This course provides children with
unique opportunities to develop clear speech, fluent delivery and pleasing social skills. This is done
through enthusiastic participation in a wide range of creative activities including speech, dance
drama, movement, improvisation, snippets, and scene starters. This theatre workshop is not only
available to English speaking pupils but is also open and advised to all pupils wishing to improve
their knowledge of English. Registration is done through the "Primary" form.

CHAPLAINCY
Students who have finished catechism class and who need to wait for the bus or their parents should wait in the G. Payot building care facilities. This service is free.
CATECHISM 4P – 5P
Catechism class is for students who would like to prepare for 1st Communion.
Catechism aims to introduce children to Jesus. They study the Bible and listen to the life history of a Saint. Catechism supports students in their discoveries, listens to them, opens debate, responds to questions and invites them to pray. Children prepare to receive the sacraments: Baptism and Confirmation. To conclude this preparation for 1
st Communion, the catechumens retire to St-
Maurice. During their stay, they will have the opportunity to implement what they have learned during catechism. To enrol on catechism, please contact the Chaplain. The celebration of 1

TENNIS CLUB
Affiliated with Swiss Tennis, Collège Champittet’s Tennis Club offers excellent training facilities for participation in internal tournaments, inter-private school competitions, the Swiss inter-club championships, as well as Kids Tennis trials for the youngest players.
These group and private lessons are taught by an experienced team consisting exclusively of teachers, competition coaches and experts, all of whom are approved by Swiss Tennis.
