He was commissioned into the Indian Armored Corps in 1964. As a young officer he was lucky to take part in both the 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pak wars and has a wealth of operational experience. During his service he held various important command and staff appointments which included command of an armored brigade and an infantry division. He was also the Chief of Staff of the Eastern Army Command. Finally he took over as the Dir Gen MECH forces at Army HQ from where he retired in 2004 after a distinguished service of 40 Years. As DGMF amongst his other duties he was responsible for formulating the training requirements and doctrine of employment of the mechanized forces. He was also instrumental in formulating and implementation of the policy of modernization and enhancement of night fighting capability of the mechanized forces.

After his retirement he joined Asia Motor Works (a leading heavy duty vehicle Manufacture) as a defense consultant. There he nurtured the growth of the AMW defense Wing and successfully introduced AMW vehicles in the Border Roads Organization. In the defense sector AMW is now a very active participant in responding to the army's requirement of 6*6 and 8*8 High Mobility Vehicles and development of Light Armored Multi Role Vehicles.

Thereafter he has joined Pun jCorporation Pvt. Ltd as a Defense Consultant.

Team-Advisory Board Pradeep Chaturvedi Mr. Pradeep Chaturvedi, is an internationally known Energy and Environment Expert. He has been involved with the Studies Programme of the World Energy Council since early 1980s, and has provided inputs for a number of WEC Studies.
